1972 Ford F250 4x4 Plow Truck 390 V8 1/25 Scale Model Kit Build How To Assemble Paint Snow Effects
Moebius 1972 Ford F250 Ranger XLT with Snow Plow 2568 1/25 Scale Model Plastic Kit
Part of the fifth generation of popular F-Series the 1972 F-250 Ranger XLT 4x4 featured a 131-inch wheelbase, an 8-foot bed and the deluxe Ranger XLT trim package. As delivered from the factory the Ford F-250s with 4x4 running gear rode well above the two-wheel-drive F-250, thus earning them the "Highboy" nickname. These trucks were equipped with the New Process NP435 - four speed manual transmission and a transfer case separate from the transmission, which required the truck to ride higher than the two-wheel drive counterpart, hence the "Highboy" nickname.
Moebius Models' precision-tooled styrene model kit of the 1972 F-250 Ranger XLT 4x4 features a full OPTIONAL SNOW PLOW CAN BE DISPLAYED IN MULTIPLE POSITIONS interior, detailed chassis and 360/390 CID V-8 engine with NP435 transmission and Dana divorced transfer case. The completed model kit measures over 8 inches long, and includes clear and chrome-plated parts, soft PVC tires, decal sheet and detailed instructions. Paint and cement required for assembly - sold separately.
The fifth generation of the Ford F-Series is a line of pickup trucks and commercial trucks that were produced by Ford from the 1967 to 1972 model years. Built on the same platform as the fourth generation F-series trucks, the fifth generation had sharper styling lines, a larger cab, and expanded engine options.
Three trim levels were available during the production of the fifth generation F-series, though the names were changed in 1970. The "Base" trim became the "Custom" and the "Custom Cab" became the "Sport Custom" joining "Ranger" as optional levels of equipment and trim. Late in production the Ranger trim level was upgraded with the additional "Ranger XLT" option.

Detailed F-250 Interior
1967: Introduction of fifth-generation F-Series in 1966 for the 1967 model year. Cab is 3 inches (7.6 cm) wider than predecessor and frame is heavier. Grille, exterior trim, interior cab fittings and engine choices are unique to this year. Trim levels are "Base", "Custom Cab", and "Ranger".
1968: As federal regulations required all automotive manufacturers to install side marker reflectors or lights, Ford redesigned the hood emblems to incorporate reflectors as well as added reflectors to the rear of the bed. Interior fittings changed due to new safety standards. New versions of the FE-Series engine added (360 truck and 390). First year of factory-installed air conditioning (air conditioning was installed by the dealer before 1968).
1969: New grille design, new 302 Windsor V8 engine option.
1970: Mid-cycle update with many detail changes including a completely new grille including wraparound front turn signals, exterior trim changes, and new side marker lights. "Sport Custom" trim replaces "Custom Cab", and "Ranger XLT" added as top trim level.
After 1968, Ford discontinued the "Low GVWR" versions. Still available was the Camper Special option (heavy duty cooling, camper pre-wiring, and larger alternator) along with the new Explorer Special (a limited edition trim and option package that combined many of the "Ranger" trim pieces with a lower overall price), Contractor's Special (including a behind the seat toolbox and 3/4 ton (F-250) suspension), Farm and Ranch Special (extra toolboxes and heavy springs), and Heavy-Duty Special (extra hauling abilities). These special models had various levels of options factory installed to appeal to different target groups. - Авто та транспорт
The cab and bed are uneven. Which makes it so much more realistic! How many times have we seen older trucks uneven in real life? Esp. work trucks. Even those 60s-80s Fords came off the line imperfect! Just my opinion. I love when an accident turns happy.
So did Bob Ross... So did Bob Ross. 😑 Happy little accidents.
Joking
My 68 short bed didn’t match up like that. It was a rusted beater and it just added to the affect.
I even don't want to see and model related things for now at least
How many Fords have you owned? I've owned 12 between 68-97, several bought brand new and no... they were not misaligned from the factory. The dealerships would lose their damn minds if they were receiving tweaked trucks to sell. And this model was built with the idea in mind that it was purchased new only a few months before plow season, so it would not have been an old truck in 1972
Buddy, I drive a 2004 F150 that came slightly uneven from factory!!! I had to loose the screws on the bed and adjust it on a local shop lol... so yeah... 100% realistic
That might be one of my favorite builds of yours yet.
Thanks, one of mine too.
@@hpiguy loved it, reminds me a lot of the Ford my grandad used to drive to work... and this. video did it for me, gonna get the kit and make his truck! Thanks for all the effort you put in these
I'm glad they got the 4wd stance correct on this one.
Holy shit you’re from Wisconsin! Same here. This time of the year is when I crank out one kit a week because there is nothing to do.
If it gets above zero long enough I can do some cross country skiing and snowshoeing and ice fishing but until then I'm trapped inside. Thanks!
i got this kit a month ago its a great kit
Nice 👍
Great looking Ford
Build video - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I wish Moebius would make some of the older Chevy trucks .
I live in a '72 F-250 in a self-built truck camper ! Its a great truck
merry Christmas
Darn it I want this kit now. Wasn't going to get one. Now I need one. Man I always do this ha ha.
Moebius goes the extra love them, especially the wheels so there is no way I would cover them with hubcraps, more realistic without
The 2 tone looks good.
Yes, I think I'll be getting this one
Is great job chris great job thank you again
It's hypnotizing watching you work haha great job
great looking sir very cool build thank you
love it cant wait to get mine
Merry Christmas from Canada. Funny thing, my brother and I just got finished plowing the road, out at the lake, with a F-250 Highboy, 4 speed manual, 1973, two tone, blue and white. What a great build.
Great build , Thank you for sharing. Hope you and your loved ones have a Great and Healthy Holidays Season ! Take care !
finally someone got the highboy frame right, i commented on facebook regarding wanting to see the axle/suspension setup, and Mobeus got it right, now if they would do the 73-79 f series that would be awesome
The snow effect is really impressive. The colors is stunning. The whole process is amazing with your talents and efforts.
Thank you so much 😀
That would look good with a load of firewood in the back along with some chainsaws, small gas cans, splitting mauls, splitting wedges and a log chain
Its the perfect time/weather here in Wisconsin to do models. Thanks for another great video. Happy holidays to you and all the folks out there watching
Happy holidays!
I love this. Makes me want to give models another try. And also to work on my truck.
Looks awesome 👍
Merry christmas to you and your family to. Awsome build. Love it!!!
From about 17:40 to 20:50 minutes into this tune, I think of the old film “Prancer”. It was such a beautiful film, I loved it as a child.
Greetings from Germany, enjoy watching your videos. It's nice to see what brands of kits are still available in the world. I didn't know AMT before and also like this one from the video.
Just got one of these bad boys in the mail, I'm excited to start my build, I just have to say that your work is an inspiration sir
Have fun!
I bought one this week. I took it out of the box now I can't get it back in. Lots of parts. Cool kit, nice build. Thanks.
My techniques for creating the “vinyl” trim look is to paint the seats in flat and then rub the surfaces till I get the sheen I desire.
Great looking kit from Moebius and an awesome looking build 👍 The light weathering is perfect on this truck! Thanks for the look at this kit
While I’ve been building mine, I knew you were going to love building this rig. Merry Christmas.
I’m going to have to splurge and buy one of these kits!
Merry Christmas
Great video and awesome build up of that truck! Going to get one! Manny
Merry Christmas...
Moebius calls it a 1972, but it has a 1971 grille (count the rectangular openings and look on the internet). C'mon guys.... Thanks Chris for another entertaining build!
This kit is more derailed then the Revell one. Very nice...i hope i can get it in canada
Terrific build. It's amazing how modern parts go together so well. Would have emphasized the lovely wheel trim options by painting the wheels something darker. The only thing missing is a flashing orange dome light for the roof and a CB radio and antenna. A road-sanding module for the pickup bed would have made it perfect.
Loved the Tamiya snow effects. Great job, Chris.
Love the snow effects , I will be looking for this one 👍🇨🇦
Merry Christmas to you and your family Chris, & a Happy New Year as well.
Merry Christmas Chris good looking truck brother you're still putting them out there I'm in a way but I'm still around hope you are well
😀😀❤️❤️cool looking truck
My daughter and I have watched many, and i do mean many of your videos. We have learned many techniques in all aspects of model building. The suppliers of your tools, glue, and models are taken as gospel. We have been building a lot of models lately due to catastrophic illness. Thank you for your videos! Would it be possible for you to show some of your glues you use and tips on building model trucks, i.e., 😂peterbilt kenworth for example.
Thank you again from both of us.
Thanks for watching and I'm glad to hear you and the kid are enjoying things!
Thanks!
Very nice kit. I would say you did it justice. Well, as always !
Loving this style of video ❤
Merry Christmas Chris.
Loving the video
Love your channel I’ve got to get this model being a ford guy
The Details on this kit! I've never touched a Moebius it before.
I think I'm F!Ng done with airbrush! I think I have single handling destroyed a Paasche Talon, an IwataEclips, and an Iwata Neo pistol! F it all! But a sincere belated Merry Christmas to all.
Very cool job Chris. I especially like the custom door logos. I really enjoyed the video.
I like the misaligned cab and box, it 'fits' the image of a hard-working truck that plows snow.
Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Awesome always cool stuff always thanks 😎
I'm in the market for some of those hand drills. I've been using regular drills with tape on them. I can't seem to find decent ones anywhare. I had back surgery in November and the Dr suggested getting back into puzzles or my go to growing up modeling. No Brainerd here. I am really impressed with your channel. And ironically here in northern MI, I purchased this kit as a Christmas gift to myself lol. Haven't built it yet but plan to soon. You do an amazing job. I have really only been trying to buy trucks. From big rigs to pickups. Hard to find! Especially 4WD! So I come across this company. I had never heard of them. I'm very impressed with them! Now I'm not sure on shipping costs, but the prices are very close to Amazon. I hate Amazon 😒. So this will be my new go to I believe for buying my kits. I'm off work until may. And going crazy. But the reaching and fine motor skills of building these kits has really helped me. Thank you for the great videos you put out!
That is one interesting kit ! Would love to build one !
Perfect timing considering the
blizzards
I guess I'm a "whiner" that cab and bed not lining up would drive me crazy. Maybe the guy hit a speed bump with the plow and tweaked the frame in the middle. Lol.
I realigned them for the title picture of the video. :)
@@hpiguy Lol I knew you couldn't stand it. You the man! Looks great as usual!
Very nice!! I have a 75 F250 I'd love to build a scale model of.
😀😃🙂 Merry Christmas Chris . Keep up the great work.
Merry Christmas Chris! And a Happy New Year! Thanks for all of your great videos this year. Looking forward to next year’s videos! 😎🇨🇦
BTW, merry Christmas! I was watching your vid while I was eating Christmas dinner!
The one thing that I dislike about the model is the plow, that plow is a quick release plow, which didn’t come out until the 90s-00s, the plow should be a frame mount plow, where the lift and lights are separate from the plow itself
This would be an Awesome build for you to show us , rescue 51 utility truck body 1/25 scale kit Diorama
Merry Christmas to everyone
Awesome job sir
I got mine 1972 Ford f350 snow plow pickup
Marry Christmas everyone
cool build A+
That looks great! I like how you weathered the plow and have snow in places. I wish my models looked this good when I was a teenager. lol. Thanks for sharing. You Rock!
At first that plow assembly looked intimidating, but I like how they've simplified its assembly. I have to get my hands on one of these Moebius Fords, and this or the duallie ramp truck have been my favorites thus far. All the best to you and yours this holiday season!
I'm going to build mine as Homer Simpson's "Mr. Plow" truck.
Very cool, this one is on my model bench now!! ❄⛄❄⛄❄
Another great video Chris, keep em coming I'll keep watching. Looks like a Meyers plow system but I'd need a better look.
A Very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year to you and your family, have a great 2023, bedt regards from a Kiwi living in Australia.
I hope someday you can show all your models.on witch you have built..im still temporary on hold on building any models.i hope you have a great Merry Christmas .
Too cool!!! ❤
Merry Christmas Chris. I built the Skipjack and weathered the heck out it to make it a work boat
You sir are blessed with a gift.awesome work
I really enjoyed building mine
I got to get this one being a ford guy
I was going to get this kit until the total cost is $54 ! Wow totally tooooo expensive just for a model kit and a little excitement!
Great build as usual
Merry Christmas Chris
Great work! The timeliness of this build and weathering is SO appropriate right now! Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!
Excellent build Chris! Got my kit 2 wks ago can't wait to start it!
Truly one of my favorite Ford body styles. Awesome job, and Merry Christmas!
This kit is so great. Moebius did one heck of a job with this. Working on one right now and ordered 2 more! Great review and build!
Thanks!
I can't wait for your build of the Asphalt Modified race car.
Merry Christmas to you and your family and Happy New Year.
Merry Christmas for You and your family. Thanks for all the inspiration.
Great job, love the snow
Santa gets a snow plow truck. And its a Ford F250 4x4 as well. Lucky Santa (this year).

Beautiful build. Lovethe moebius trucks
Don't worry about the cab and bed alinement , it's a Ford. From Fomoco Dave
I got 2 sitting and waiting at Model Roundup. I think I’m waiting on the AMT Charger kit to arrive.
