Hi, I was lucky enough to see you building this at Hannants a couple days ago, thank you so much for letting me try out an airbrush This model looks amazing! merry Christmas :)
Another outstanding build mate! I've just picked mine up and few other model kits from Hannants it was thanks to you i found one of the best model shops.
I’ve been with this channel since very near the beginning and I never miss a video. You are genuinely an excellent modeller, building the kits I do with the materials I use. You’re a terrific benchmark to show what’s possible. Well done. 👍
Fantastic build! Folded tail and rotors is a great way to save shelf space for storage as well - great that Airfix included that option. I wish Airfix would do a 1:48 Westland Wasp (RN, New Zealand and South African versions as options) to sit alongside that.
This was a truly excellent build and paint finish have a Very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year, best regards from a Kiwi living in Australia, Les
Nice video Luke. This Sea King kit looks better than Airfix's first release and you did a great job picking out all of those rivets with the wash. All the best, Matt
Great build. I am undertaking building all the aircraft types I have worked on. This is among them. So thanks for sharing your build. Ok, the corner structure in the cabin, we called the broom cupboard, contained the engines computers and the control rods and pulleys etc that transferred the pilots flight control inputs to the control surfaces. The cannards, as you call them are called sponsons and the flotation devices fitted to them, are basically cans containing huge ball shaped bags. When the CO2 bottles are fired the gas rapidly inflates the bags and blows of the can lids. Oh and the shield in front of the engines is also a FOD shield. (Foreign Object Damage)
I had the same problem with the last sar variant of the sea king from Airfix. Your bulid is beautiful 🤩 I´m sitting on the takom apache D and i will use some techniques from your video. I wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year of scale modelling!
Looks absolutely amazing! The interior does look quite plain, but I feel like it allows for the viewer to see your techniques much better. The green also looks great, and it would also work really well on armour kits, probably American subjects mainly. I am actually considering getting a new airbrush, and I am thinking of the Procon Boy. Do you know how much it costs it Hannants, as it is £90 on Amazon, so I am wondering where to buy it from if I was to get one. Merry Christmas to you, and I am unsure on whether I will be able to go to Hannants in 2024 still, so if not, then I hope to see this next year. Great job once again Luke :)
Thank you very much! Procon down at Hannants is £150. The main selling point of getting it there is that if anything goes wrong we will help you out and fix in house if need be, if you get it online we can’t help you out. I personally like to tell people to think about the extra cost as an almost warranty. It’s up to you at the end of the day. Merry Christmas!
@machmodels Honestly, I think a guarantee by people who are more experienced with it than I am is better than just getting a 'Supposed guarantee' online. Also, Amazon parcels could decide to...get lost, but I guess you can never lose something you physically bought and have on yourself. Great to hear, and a trip to Hannants is probably inevitable in the near future (As I said, probably 2025), and I hope you will have a great rest of your weekend.
I have found that Airfix kits can tend to be over-engineered, introducing complexity where just a little simplification will result in a cleaner result.
I declare U to my top favorite Modell Builder. Absolut great and over the top
Absolutely smashing work, man! Your builds always turn out absolutely stunning. Keep it up!

Hopefully more and more airfix kits get rivets, they massively improve the surface detail

Beautifully built, I was wondering if you could make a F-111 model as it is one of my favourite aircraft😁

Good job
Ridiculously good. I just wanna know how you know what paint colours to choose and what pin wash colours to use it all seems so easy when you do it 😂
Very Nice !!
Great video! What is CA glue and why do you use it?
