Referring to Felix Cavaliere as a singer is a vast understatement. He is a composer of some great music. Music that changed the world. He is an organist who also played the bass parts with his feet. Felix is a pioneer.
We love you, Felix Cavaliere! We love your former bandmates too - Eddie Brigati (superb lead vocalist on "How Can I be Sure?", percussion), Dino Danelli (drums), Gene Cornish (vocals, guitar).
Felix is so entertaining and humble in these conversations, these stories are such a good reminder of how good those times were, and we just thought it was normal to have fabulous music being presented each and every week in such a stunning variety ✌️
Felix on lead vocals, co-songwriting, song reached #16 on the Billboard Hot 100. Co-lead singer/co-songwriter Eddie Brigati Jr also played percussion. Eddie sang lead on their hit "How Can I Be Sure" !! I read that Felix wrote the music, and Eddie wrote the lyrics on their songs.
"I like new songs that are fifty years old." Hmmm, yeah, I might have to "borrow" that line to weave into some of my own song lyrics. Don't worry, Felix. I will definitely give you credit for it. 😊
I never forgot this one. I loved it then, I love it now. To get the stories along with the music makes it all the more enjoyable! Thank you Rob Squad you are the BEST!!
Honestly, I didn't know the guy. He is hilarious! Of course, I new the song, but didn't know who sang it. So cool. Thank you Jay and Amber for this one. I would love to hear more of his stories, please invite him back soon.
Felix was such a great singer and also a terrific keyboard player. He was good enough to be asked to play as a session keyboardist with Solomon Burke (or one of those Atlantic records artists) when the producer could bring in the best NYC session men. Watch Dino's left hand in these film clips! Others Rascals suggestions: "A Girl Like You" "What Is The Reason" "Midnight Hour" "Carry Me Back." Also a shout out to Felix's solo hit "Only A Lonely Heart Sees."
Thank you so much for giving Felix the exposure... The Young rascals music doesn't get enough credit... If you're ever feeling low listen to the bells starting off in it's a beautiful morning listen to the words and let your spirit fly..."ain't no good if the sun shines and you're still inside shouldn't hide
A string of terrific songs, and he is absolutely your most engaging, entertaining and funniest guest! I could listen him just tell the Back stories all day! (And yeah, I’ll bet you, Donny Osmond and Tom Jones would come on if you could schedule them! They’d be entertaining as hell too!).
I love soulful voices that are fifty years old. 🙂 Too bad that soulful voices are on the verge of extinction these days. But speaking of Otis Redding, have you ever heard of The Teskey Brothers? Check out their song “Rain”. You will hear that all is not lost.
One of the biggest bands of the late 60's and definitely one of the greatest. Felix, Eddie Brigati, Gene Cornish were so damn talented...and a loud shoutout to one of the most under-appreciated drummers ever, RIP Dino Danielli!
Be sure to listen to "A Beautiful Morning" by the Rascals (1968) and "Groovin" (1967). And you HAVE to check out this video of 19-year-old Felix performing as a member of "Joey Dee and the Starlighters." The song is "Peppermint Twist," and the year was 1962. Of the three singers standing side by side, Felix is the skinny little guy on the right: ua-cam.com/video/4tzFu7J7kTo/v-deo.htmlsi=pez-VLLGOJqF-iHD
You got to talk to Felix? So cool! As long as you’re doing some of my favorite songs I would love to hear you do “Carolyn’s Fingers” by the Cocteau Twins sometime. And anything by the Clash though I’m partial to “Clampdown” and “Train in Vain”…
Love this song! They sounded very soulfull! David Cassidy covered this song in his "Rock Me Baby" lp. His version of "Cherish," was his 1st big solo hit.
Did you guys do Groovin’ yet?! If not, it’s such a chill GOAT tune! Oh, and please do How Can I Be Sure! It’s an absolute beauty, w/Eddie on lead vocal!
When I first heard them back in the Sixties,I thought they were black, and they were the first white group Ahmet(Ertegun)assigned to Atlantic and not Atco, the sister label. They were always awesome!!
One of my very favorite groups. Watching this I'm singing along and dancing. "A Girl Like You" would be another one to check out. Watching Felix watching these videos must bring back such memories. Love this music!
Being a keyboard player thanks Felix reconfirming my thoughts when I saw the organ thinking I'm hearing Hammond, but that wasn't a Hammond in the video, which Felix stated it was a stage prop organ for the video and not a Hammond
I had Rascals, Ray Charles, Aretha and Zeppelin records, all on Atlantic label. It must have been exciting for Felix during recording and then hearing the song on the radio, not to mention the girls lol. Great song❤
Btw, led Zeppelin was signed by Atlantic records, when Dusty Springfield told the president he better sign them before some other studio did, the rest of course, is history, Atlantic records was wonderful for it r and b artists
these were such good songs to listen to, they had a message, and they were good to dance to, also the local garage bands could learn them fast, and we danced to these songs at High School dances the same year they were released, so we were able to dance to live covers of these songs while they were on the top 40 hit list.
I loved dancing to their music
Referring to Felix Cavaliere as a singer is a vast understatement. He is a composer of some great music. Music that changed the world. He is an organist who also played the bass parts with his feet. Felix is a pioneer.
Been a fan of the Rascals and Felix forever. Thank you!
Love it Rob Sqd. Great interview
We love you, Felix Cavaliere! We love your former bandmates too - Eddie Brigati (superb lead vocalist on "How Can I be Sure?", percussion), Dino Danelli (drums), Gene Cornish (vocals, guitar).
I'd really love for them to check out How Can I Be Sure? But they might only be doing songs with Felix on lead.
That's my favorite Rascals song.@@magneto7930
they had a great drummer
Dino Danelli was his name and yes he was legendary.
Amazing drummer! Impeccable timing with his technique.
I love Felix and the Rascals. He could talk all day and I'd listen!
Top notch singer/songwriter. Love watching him watching his younger self 🙏🙏
I could listen to Felix all day!!
Man he’s got a ton of stories, tons of history!!
Another great Rascal number . You need to hear A girl like you .
Love that song.
Also, How Can I be Sure.
The Rascals were a staple of the local Friday night dances.
Great interview. "I Ain't Gonna Eat Out My Heart Anymore"
That song has major attitude. Great song.
A lot of great hits that still hold up after all these years!!
Felix is so entertaining and humble in these conversations, these stories are such a good reminder of how good those times were, and we just thought it was normal to have fabulous music being presented each and every week in such a stunning variety ✌️
I like the direction this channel has taken.
I can see Felix as he is listening to his song leaning in playing air organ to his hit. Pure musician.
Felix on lead vocals, co-songwriting, song reached #16 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Co-lead singer/co-songwriter Eddie Brigati Jr also played percussion. Eddie sang lead on their hit "How Can I Be Sure" !!

This guy has had a ton of great songs. They were very very good. I love them. Keep it up. You guys are doing great fun hearing these stories.
Never could forget this young time in my life and this great song
This has been wonderful. I find out that one of my favorite bands was headed by a really nice guy. Thanks for the review.
I never forgot this one. I loved it then, I love it now. To get the stories along with the music makes it all the more enjoyable! Thank you Rob Squad you are the BEST!!
The very best of Blue Eyed Soul from Felix, Eddie, Gene and Dino.
❤❤ Have always loved the Young Rascals’ music
Their most Motown tune. Rob Squad has redeemed themselves for overlooking Felix and the Rascals.
Rob Squad is amazing!! Thank you so much!! Geez I miss those days!! It was so much fun to sing and dance, back then! Sigh...
Great to see & hear from a founding member of one of my favorite ’60’s bands. Thanks for your music, it still takes me back.✌️❤️🎶.
I love watching Dino on the drums!
Absolutely lovin' the stories!!! Such a great time! Thank you Felix, Jay and Amber!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
What a coup! Love the Rascals ❤
Soul! Great Otis story. "Wicked" as it were. Thank you Felix. Thank you, guys.
Their best song.
Thank you sooooooo much for featuring Felix.
Freaking Awesome videos of The Rascals
Honestly, I didn't know the guy. He is hilarious! Of course, I new the song, but didn't know who sang it. So cool. Thank you Jay and Amber for this one. I would love to hear more of his stories, please invite him back soon.
You gotta hear Eddy sing, the little guy with the tambourine. Felix wasn't the only Rascals singer. They're both terrific!
I was a teenager in love when the Young Rascals emerged, their music meant so much. Loved it!
Pleasant reaction, Thank you❣️
Felix was such a great singer and also a terrific keyboard player. He was good enough to be asked to play as a session keyboardist with Solomon Burke (or one of those Atlantic records artists) when the producer could bring in the best NYC session men.

Felix is the best! Amazing man and an amazing songwriter.
I love Rob Squad Reactions! I love the Creators giving their insights into the music they make. Jay and Amber are such a delight.

Your channel is freakin' fantastic. Thanks for having Felix on.
Love ya, Felix! This is great music!!!❤❤❤
Yeah I was hoping he would get to intro the band during the reax! Cavaliers & Brigati - what a dynamic blue-eyed soul team!

So soulful. What a classic song from The Young Rascals. Definitely get some Motown vibes from this song!
Love The Rascals. Had a crush on the drummer, Dino Danelli. Thought he looked like Paul McCartney, lol.
Dino was such a great drummer!and of course Felix playing organ incredible!
Love this song! They sounded very soulfull! David Cassidy covered this song in his "Rock Me Baby" lp. His version of "Cherish," was his 1st big solo hit.

Will definitely read his book. So interested in his music education, influences and how the band was created. Thank you Felix! ❤
Felix was so hot when he was young. very hot. Now I'm 74 and still think he's great.
Being a keyboard player thanks Felix reconfirming my thoughts when I saw the organ thinking I'm hearing Hammond, but that wasn't a Hammond in the video, which Felix stated it was a stage prop organ for the video and not a Hammond

You got to react to everybody's got to be free and groovin also you got to react to Black and White by Three Dog Night
One of my favorite storytellers in the music business.
That left foot of his on those organ pedals wasn't bad, either
This was my favorite of theirs. Felix was so great. And Dino Danelli on drums who sadly passed not to long ago.
One of the great American bands! And how cool was Dino Danelli as a drummer?
❤❤ ❤ thank you thank you thank you for bringing him on and keeping good music alive❤❤ ❤❤❤❤
Btw, led Zeppelin was signed by Atlantic records, when Dusty Springfield told the president he better sign them before some other studio did, the rest of course, is history, Atlantic records was wonderful for it r and b artists
Reminds me of my older brother. We both thought we were so grown up.😊😊😊😊
Great interview this song brings back memories of my teen years and hearing their songs on the radio! Thanks guys.
My favorite was one of their lesser hits, "A Ray of Hope."
Really showed a lot of Dino in that video. Made me very happy.
these were such good songs to listen to, they had a message, and they were good to dance to, also the local garage bands could learn them fast, and we danced to these songs at High School dances the same year they were released, so we were able to dance to live covers of these songs while they were on the top 40 hit list.
