Rob Squad and the Creators
United States
Приєднався 15 лип 2024
We are launching Rob Squad and The Creators as its own channel because that is what our RSR family wants. We also have been honored to work with the amazing Production Company, F Street Productions, led by Michael Simon and Scott Kushner. Together with F Street, Amber and I have had the honor to react to many iconic songs from the original writers, singers, and producers. The other cool thing is these artists share the behind the scenes of the songs, and as well as other stories during our discussions. This channel could have never happened without your views and constant support, so from the bottom of Amber’s and my heart, thank you very much! We need people to subscribe to keep this channel going. We always love feedback so feel free to send us anything at P.O Box 6501 Moore, Ok 73153.

INSIDE THE REACTION!| FIRST TIME HEARING ELVIS PRESLEY - Blue Moon REACTION WITH TIM SOMMER
In the words of Tim Sommer “I’ve saved the best for last” and we won’t argue. The Elvis version of “Blue Moon” is haunting and ethereal and sucks you into his soul. Tim points out that the last verse Elvis left out and we ponder why? The 19 year old Elvis Presley sings this song like no one before or since.

ITR!| First Time Hearing ELVIS PRESLEY - Good Time Charlie's Got The Blues REACTION With TIM SOMMER We love having Tim Sommer as part of our Rob Squad and the Creators team, because he always surprises not only with the theme for the week but the song choices as well. So on “Elvis” week our 2nd helping is the very introspective ballad Elvis did back in 1973 “Good Time Charlie’s Got the Blues We...

FIRST TIME HEARING XTC - Senses Working Overtime REACTION With Producer Hugh Padgham Michael Simon, one of our Executive Producers on Rob Squad and the Creators, asked that we react to a song by this band after we booked the iconic producer Hugh Padgham as a guest. Scheduling conflicts prevented Amber from appearing, so I reacted solo to this brilliant song by an amazing band. Amber can’t wait ...

What a fun and exciting week this has been for Amber and I! We were fortunate to have Andy McCluskey, from the pop synth group Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, join us from across the pond from his home in the UK. We wrap up this week with one last OMD track featuring the mellotron, a traditional fife and drum marching beat, and lyrics about the French heroine, Joan of Arc. This song was a hu...

You about the pants coulots, clamdiggers, pedal pusher,
That song definitely makes you want to get up and dance ❤️
I still prefer the Danny O’Keffe version But I actually never heard this before.
You should cross-post this on your regular channel
all other reactors are sleeping on this performance
It's just soo sad to me that Otis Blackwell wrote and taught Elvis how to sing the songs, died penniless.
Cowboy Junkies, who you should really check out, do a great version of this song. They play a combination of folk, country, blues and rock. Great female lead vocalist, Margo Timmons. Her brother Mike is guitarist and principal songwriter. A few suggestions “Misguided Angel”, “Cause Cheap Is How I Feel”. There are some high quality videos on UA-cam. Amber, right up your alley. Jay, the instruments are great, but listen when in a mellow mood.
❤😊
kevin from scptland one of the most underrated bands to come out of scotland love there music great vlog
I have enjoyed this week with Tim Sommer and Elvis. Love me some Elvis! Thanks y’all!
Um, Kentucky Rain wasn’t a Neil Diamond song. It was first released by Elvis and written by Eddie Rabbit and Dick Heard, if I remember correctly. Good Time Charlie’s Got the Blues is Elvis perfection. A lovely day to all.
I think he was thinking of Kentucky Women record by Neil diamond
Great to see your smiling face Jay.
I have always preferred the original "Polk Salad Annie" by Tony Joe White. Hopefully Mr. White received huge royalties from Elvis's cover.
The upbeat hit version of this song was by the Marcels in 1961, check it out!!! Elvis didn't release this as a single.
Shame this turned spamish channel
This song always takes me back to the movie "Grease" 😁
The way you all can interpret elvis song is so special thanks for that
So glad for you to be back in my feed. I hope the family is near a place where this will be a more regular appearance. Thanks for the smiles today.
The young elvis is voice is so unique
Amber, Jay & Tim - I could listen to the three of you discussing music for hours. Thank you for sharing with us. Love Elvis and the reactions to his music. 💜
You have to react to Mac Davis
The Eternal King of Rock and Roll! Elvis will never be gotten.
Great to see a new reaction. Love this song, both his version and the original by Tony Joe White
Jay & Amber, you'll love his "All Shook Up" and "Are You Lonesome Tonight"!!!
Jay & Amber, you'll love his "All Shook Up" and "Are You Lonesome Tonight"!!!
Great interview! 🙂
This may be one of my favorite 60's songs. Simpy briliant.
I've always loved how Gabriel's accent is so prominent. Sometimes an English accent gets flattened. Kate's accent comes out in her songs too.
The original by Cracker is much better.

For me, 1979 was a time when although there was some happy clappy disco pop, contemporary pop but there was the inklings of dark undercurrents, kind of like being at a party but the vibe has slightly changed. And with the post punk/new wave sound that had emerged in the late 70s, for me it felt grown up but a little shouty, like being at a protest rally. In 1980 though as a 13 year old we started to get a softer, darker sound, almost felt like a parent telling us what the shouty protest people were shouting about, and 1980's music also had an end of world, dystopian feel to it, even though looking at the music above we still had the happy clappy songs. During 1980, we were also made very aware that at any second we could be obliterated by nuclear war. And the divide between the US and Russia was clear. I remember the US boycotting the Moscow Olympics. As a child, it was a scary time. And the threat was very very real. So yeah, there were a lot of tracks this year that were reflecting the precarious nature of the world or a dystopian future ahead. In 1981 we had even more socially conscious tracks but they felt more about what was happening at a ground level rather than global apocalypse and strangely the short lived New Romantic phase seemed to lighten the mood and by 1982 those New Romantic bands were mainstream and even though the UK was at war with Argentina, these new 'big' bands like Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, Depeche Mode and generally many other post New Romantic bands were really spreading a colourful vibe across the year. You still had The Jam and others with political overtones, but if one was to compare the vibe of the music from 1980 to 1982 there was a real difference. Just my thoughts on those 3 years. But, absolutely loving this channel and your main channel, and hope everyone enjoys seeing what music was knocking around in the weeks of Peter Gabriel's Games Without Frontiers xxx😊
Loved this song back in the day. It was also the first time I heard Kate Bush. I hadn’t any idea of the European tv shows until today. The music video was on our version of MTV in Canada and the tune was on the radio. Thanks for teaching me. And the high school flashbacks. Music and videos were such a huge thing back in the day.
You two gotta get into Peter Gabriel era Genesis..very different from the Peter Gabriel solo artists
Lol. French translated hilariously.
And Hugh was sweet to not correct him...despite J saying it twice 😂
Jeux sans frontières: Female voice is kate Bush
Hey y’all I can’t wait to see this and hear this song again 😊 I still remember the lyrics singing right along with it!
Jay & Amber, you'll love Peter Gabriel's song "Big Time" !!! yes, Hugh music engineer and Steve Lilywhite producer on "Games Without Frontiers", Peter’s second charting single. 1980.
Jay & Amber, you'll love Peter Gabriel's song "Big Time" !!! Hugh - engineer and again Steve Lilywhite producer on "Games Without Frontiers", his second charting single. 1980.
Y'all should check out the live version of this song on the Rd Sullivan show
Amazing! Thanks!!
Hope Amber feel better soon! Sending love from sunny SoCal!
Patty-I remember that song. It was one of my favorites. I remember doing my chores and signing this song.
OMD..Quality.
XTC ❤ So many songs to choose from. Senses is a good start.
My favorite song by XTC is The Green Man. I think Amber would love it!
Dear God.
Jay & Amber, You'll love their "Synchronicity II" and "The Beds To Big Without You"!!!!
Jay, thanks for reacting to the XTC song I previously mentioned. You'd like XTC's "Making Plans For Nigel" and "Generals & Majors" !!! Steve Lilywhite produced the 'Drums & Wires' and 'Black Sea' albums that they came from.
You are such a cutie. ❤
The Turtles had recorded Eve of Destruction and they same time on an album...a little more pleading kind of sentiment rather than raspy voiced pessimist take like this.
sorry the Hugh Padgham interview was taken down. He mentioned the band XTC. He produced their song "Senses Working Overtime", definitely worth checking out. Several of XTC's earlier singles were produced by Steve Lillywhite, another accomplished producer.
It's been re-posted!
