1968 was a turbulent year, but songs like "People Got To Be Free" got us through it all. Love The Rascals. Thank You Felix, I hope you realize how much your music is appreciated by those of us who were there.
Great song, still relevant today. What a treat having Felix share his memories of The Rascals and these songs. When you get back to the Rascals, "A Beautiful Morning", "How Can I Be Sure" and "It's Wonderful" !!!
I always for some reason remember driving home after high school in 68 and this song playing on my am radio and really appreciateing the words. Thanks for this!
The Rascals were my fav! I could sing to all of their songs, driving around! 1968 was really odd, in many ways. My brother drafted and in Vietnam and all of these people protesting! My family praying every day that he would make it home. He extended, so was there 14 monthes. He was home in time for my wedding. I have been watching since it was just Rob! Both are teachers-it is a strange world for teachers! Blessings to your family! You are an inspiration to an old lady!! 🥰🥰🥰
Kathie says…1968…I graduated from High School that year. 1968 was the year that America started going ??????. Lots of tears for America then and Lots of tears for America now. This song says it all…People should REALLY listen to it. As a teenager I danced to this song but didn’t really understand it…I only heard the beat and the music. It was great to dance to…but I didn’t “listen” to the words and their meaning. Today it makes me cry because of its truth that I didn’t listen to back then. Thank You Felix…for everything! Thank you Rob & Amber…for all that you do for the love of music!
I’ve been with you guys since the ‘rainbow bricks’ days! … can’t tell you how happy I am that your channel has grown and evolved to the point where you’re getting such great guests to talk about their music and the stories behind them! Being a Newark, NJ guy… I can’t express how much we all loved Felix, Eddie, Dino & Gene! I mean, we knew all about the Rascals before I knew very much about the Beatles! I was 10 when I began singing along to Rascals’ songs… and that blue-eyed soul streak which started with the Righteous Bros, then the Rascals, and similar NYC groups like Spanky & Our ❤Gang (Lazy Day, I’d Like to Get to Know You, Sunday Will Never Be the Same)… but also to the Animals, and then into the 70’s with Alex Chilton, Todd Rundgren & Hall&Oates. All part of the same musical stream, and I love it. Of course, I’m a huge fan of Detroit, Philly, and Muscle Shoals soul & blues too! Best to you & fam…

Great music too!!
I've really enjoyed this time with Felix Cavalier and all the old Rascals' songs. This one is as relevant now as it was then.
Felix is 81 yr old. Still sharp as a tack!
Amen! So right, those were the days. Peace, love and rock and roll

This guy and the other Rascals needed to go toe-to-toe with the Beatles and Rolling Stones -- and more than held their own. Not an easy task.
Wow, what a great honor to be able to speak to Felix. My favorite person to be interviewed. The Rob Squad has made the big time!!!!
Listen to “How can I be sure”.
