I really love Peruvian flavours! I love Brazilian food too, but Peruvian food is so exquisite! Peru is a very diverse country and they have spices we don’t have in Brazil.

The Chicharrón from la Lucha sangucheria is crap. I don't know how it is so popular. Chicharron is best done in a traditional chicharroneria, or you can eat it at El Chinito or Palermo. The chicharron is best eaten with the onion and chili Sauce. It's literally the best sandwich in the world hands down, it's so shame that you didn't try the REAL CHICHARRON
Chicharrón simply means fried to a crunchy state. It could have the skin. Suckling pig is a very young pork. Literally a baby pig. Your suckling pig there was oven baked.
Also in Parque Kennedy, in one street food place (like the last chicharron one) you could try really delicious picarones. The place is called “Picarones Mary”. Delicious!

Yes a Peruvian chicharron sandwich has sweet potato on it. La Lucha is more known for it's fruit juices and smoothies. The fruit in Peru is fantastic. A chicharron sandwich in the mercado for breakfast is best. And add the onion salad to it also. IMHO

Sour sop or "durian belanda" as it is called in Malaysia. I remember you both had tried the juice while filming in Kemaman, Terangganu and you guys loved it...😀😄 This morning, l made a sour sop smoothie. It's a matter of personal choices : I am peruvian and I am NOT a big fan of ceviche (but I still like it & eat it ) But I love lomo saltado & chicharron sandwiches (my favorites)
That's unfortunate with the chicharron sandwich normally it's juicy n melts in your mouth and the onions n sweet patatoe brings it home. The pork did look dry and not a lot of onions or dressing which made it an okay sandwich. Anticuchos is the my favourite as I'm sure you guys will love. 👌🏽
At that park cart you should have tried the butifarra sandwich!!! It’s the best sandwich ever!!! If the cart has in it in big letters butifarra get that sandwich lol
Hi! There is a very popular and traditional cafe called Manolo's in Ave. Larco. Really close to the park. They serve freshly made churros..but not like the churros you've tried already, but like the ones you were saying you know.
You can find the best chicharrones in El Ingenio-Nazca, in a valley near the Nazca lines, and chicharronerias are at side of South Panamerican Highway, km 412.
Try some ‘criollo’ dishes. I recommend the restaurant ‘Isolina’ in Barranco. It’s a tiny bit pricey but has all the traditional dishes. If you can’t make it, look out for these dishes ; seco de res, ají de gallina, and carapulcra. Cheers!
Yeah those sandwiches from la lucha are really expensive and mostly dry, that’s why it’s only worth it you eat them with onions, sauce and all the toppings

You went to a chain store for the chicharrón and lechón sandwiches. The best are found inside markets or at few famous/historical places in town. Not that those sandwiches are bad, but it's a bit like trying to find the best pizza in town and going to Pizza Hut.
To be fair, the LA LUCHA sandwiches are not the better ones, they have just popular marketing for tourist. Also you didn-t eated the PAN CON CHICHARRON (the real name of that sandwich) as it must be intended. A complete Pan con Chicharron should also have SALSA CRIOLLA on it, ( a pink onion with rocoto -a kind of red ajèi-- and lemon juice) and also CANCHITA SERRANA, (salty toasted corn) inside. LA Lucha CHicharron imeat s too dry, a good chicharron should be is kinda a little juicy., and also toasted , and the sweet potato (camote) very Tender.
The ice cream spot was hilarious. I also had some problems remembering how to pronounce guanabana until I realized it was like the Muppets song mana mana do do do do do . Once I realized that I never got it wrong again.
In terms of Peruvian Sangucherías: El Chinito is fairly much better! Lucha's completely overrated and small-sized in comparison to Chinito's. Better luck next time!!
You shoudnt have bought it at that restaurant. It used to be good, but last time I went not even the onion sauce (sarsa criolla) had lemon juice, it was dry and there was not enough meat in the sandwich for the price.

The reason they didn't have that amazing experience is bc they are eating at stores u must eat at food vendor bc they go all out unlike stores they try to sell to thos who don't know much so they sell to majority of tourist and city people

I prefer 100x the one from El Chinito too, but the fries are better in La Lucha, they use huayro potato, and the texture and flavor is so good.
Even the world famous Chef Gaston Acurio prefers El Chinito.

Paulo Oliveira Tucuma e Lúcuma são duas frutas muito diferentes. Lúcuma é uma fruta nativa dos vales interandinos do Peru.
