- Back in 2020, Welsh road cyclist and Olympic gold medallist Owain Doull MBE opened up about losing his best friend to suicide.
As Movember and hundreds of cyclists across the UK gear up to take on the Cycle 100 in July, now is a time to reflect and remember that in the UK and Ireland, 100 men a week take their own life.
Sign up to the Cycle 100 to support Movember's funds life-changing, lifesaving men’s health programmes for boys and men. One week. 100 miles. One massive effort for the 100 men we lose to suicide every week across the UK and Ireland.

Sorry for your loss I lost my best friend too suicide a little over a year ago.
I'm very sorry for your loss Owain. I also lost my best friend to suicide. It was a long, long time ago, 1988. It still hurts. Of course, it's a dull kind of pain instead of the sharp kind initially. I miss him so much, and I miss all the things we could've done together growing old. I don't talk about him since no one around me knew him. I've lost touch with his sisters and brothers too.
Sorry for your loss , and your right the lockdowns were extremely dangerous for so many.
I lost my friend 2 days ago. the pain in the memories knowing nothing I do will bring him back... Ahh fuck man I just want my homie back. He always helped me at my lowest was always happy. I wish I knew. It so painful to think about all the good memories. Playing destiny after school, working on our cars together. Man I want him back so bad. The night before he took his life we planned to go for a cruise down to coffs Harbour. I just don't know anymore man I miss him so bad.
I feel that pain. I hope it has become easier for you - How are you doing now?
How's life now i lost a friend too
Sending you the light! Sorry for the loss of your mate!
