- So this video/podcast will be about how to deal with close friends leaving the country you live in. Maybe to another country or another continent. Either way if it is a close friend. This can be a tough thing to deal with sometimes. I myself have experienced this alot and wanted to give some insight into it. In fact it is mostly what inspired me to create this channel in the first place. I hope you enjoy it and that you get some good advice out of it. If not please let me know in the comments.

I didn't know how much I depended on my friend for support until he was gone
Man… it really hurts when you made promises to each other. “Let’s get through highschool together!” “Man, you already know that we will stick together.” “Yeah I know that.” This conversation always plays over and over again every time I sit down and think about all the times we needed each other for help or to just talk. It really sucks how we have to learn to move on because nothing is forever, but I just wish. Really sucks to see a genuinely good friend that you spent so much time with leave. I feel like I have wasted my time and effort trying to keep a friendship that ultimately was gonna end. I feel very sad and defeated. Sitting down and just having a thought. I can get through this. It really is difficult to let go.

I thought I was the only one that went through this this happened years ago but feel like it was yesterday for me . Mine don’t talk to me it figures .

Same my best friends moved away two years ago and I’ve been feeling kinda sad since I realized I won’t ever see them again. This year my best friend might be moving back to his home country for a year then coming back only to move away again .
My best friend since the 2nd grade just landed a huge job paying 80k+ a year. While I'm thrilled for him, he's got to move a long ways away.. Don't know if I'm ever going to get to play games with him again. Looking back, all I can think is how I could have been a better pal, so that he could have more great memories of our years together. So I'm not forgotten.
My friend just informed me with pretty much the same situation. Did you guys still stay in touch, make new friends? I feel gutted...
I feel you bro. This is what I feel right now that my best buddy is going to the military. I rarely connect to people and when I connect with this friend, Its devastating how things turn out. I honestly don't know if Im gonna find another friend though I am still young. Damn!

I have met my best friend that I’ve know since 2019, I know not long. But when we met we hit it off and became super close. Like we’ve helped each other through family emergencies and through everything imaginable. But she recently moved from North Carolina to Texas. We have hoped to go into highschool together as best friends. But not anymore. And I just couldn’t wrap my mind around that she was leaving. But it was for the better. She was my closest friend even though we just met. I may be young but she was the greatest person that has came into my life. I just wish she can come back.
My best friend for the last 11 years just moved two hours away, today. He had a little cockatiel, too, who I got to know over the last year, so losing a pet also stings.
He definitely turned into more of a brother than a friend through a lot of ups and downs in our lives.
Been spending the last couple hours rearranging the apartment to fit me better. Centered my recliner to the tv, brought my piano down, sorted my water color desk, vacuumed.
I can still visit him, especially since I'm a teacher, but the daily security of having someone to share in life's experiences will be missed greatly. Or just knowing someone is in the apartment.
More than likely I'll go on a shopping spree to try to ease my mind. A bigger TV and a PS5 so we can play video games together. 😕
My life is going horrible right now, I am in this never ending circle of bad things all piling up onto each other. And on top of it all my best friend just told me that she is moving to another state. I feel all alone in the world and now I have no one to go to.
My friend’s moving to a different county tomorrow and I just said the last goodbye. And I just want isolate my self in my room and cry.
Dealing with this right now. My 3 best friends are leaving for college and it's just never gonna be the same again. It almost feels like I'm losing them even though they are still alive

@@cheylakin22 it's something that is always there and I still miss them but I can say yes it's gotten better. You get used to seeing them on vacations, or just a weekly chat over the phone. You also need to find new people to be apart of your life so you don't feel so lonely. People come and go and the first step is accepting that. Good luck!
Thank you for this video. A friend moving away is not nearly as painful as when a close one dies, but it still hurts. It's always hard to say goodbye, even when it's temporary.
Im getting to the point in high school where most of my friends are going to start moving away for different colleges.
I fucking love these guys, and the thought of loosing that relationship is terrifying me rn.

I also graduated and now that its the end of the summer people are leaving for univeristy/colleg.
My best friend of 11 years might be moving away to a big city about an hour or two away from home with his girlfriend with child, he is 20, I am 21. I understand that in life we all must take our own paths & we move into different stages.. I thought I would be completely ready for this moment in life when it came but, I never thought how emotional it would feel tho. Welp, I'm happy for my M8. I am really fucking sad. I had to move away from my best friend because my family lost their job and decided to go back to their home country (my best friend was gonna move out really far too last yearn in i may or august. I have them online but if im honest my bond is slowly starting to break. This year its kinda repairing but its not the same as it would be in real life. I cant get over it.

ive found that, each time this happens, it feels worse. i just cant get used to it, to the point where i dont want to get close to anyone new anymore to protect myself
I just met a new friend. We were both in similar situations and places in life. She was my upstairs neighbour actually. We didn't really talk for the year or so I'd lived in the same building as her, but a blowup with her roommates caused her to decide to move out. I reached out to her to see if she was alright and we talked for a bit on the phone, hung out at my place, became friends. We've been hanging out once a week or so for the last few months after she moved to a new place. Well, she had another falling out with her new roommate and has to move again. Only this time she's moving 6 hours away.
I JUST made this new friend and I really enjoy her company. I don't have a lot of friends as I find it hard to make genuine connections with people. Before I really met her, I was suffering from depression, anxiety and the occasional panic attack. I can feel all that coming back again. I'm feel so alone in this world.

My friend is moving to El Paso in a couple days. Her dad got cancer, and his treatment is in Mexico. Almost every single friend I make moves schools, or moves far away. I’m not exaggerating. It’s like I’m cursed.
My friend moved away in summer and i thought i would be okay in highschool without him but i was wrong, first day of the school year when i was on my way to home it really hitted me. Worst feeling when you are at school and theres literally no one you can talk to, especially when place where i live is so small. I'm used to being alone but this is so depressing, feels like i don't belong here anymore.. I go to the gym very often and have gone recently like 5 times a week due to being so sad, not only because my friend moved away but I just have to convert negativity into positivity. Still bothers me.
I'm living in not my home country for already 7.5 years because of the war in my home city. It has been difficult to make friends here even though I moved here as a student and met many ppl on my way, but many of them has moved away. It is difficult to make good connections outside of your country, and it is more difficult when you are older, and it is even more difficult in the country where I live as people here are reserved. However, I have made a good friend here. Not the best, I don't have best friends anymore, but very good and supportive and we could understand each other in many things and way we communicated was very nice it reminded the hight school. And now he is leaving forever this country, it has been never in his plan but he moved because of his girlfriend but now he wants to continue his initial plan. So I am not angry on him of course and in my life I dealed with friends moving before but I still feel very empty. Yesterday we have met for the last time before he leaves and when going back home and walking down the street I felt that this world and this particular place where I am in is so empty. Thanks God I talked with my mom and she was very supportive and all those hard feelings kind of faded away but still, I still feel sad and the feelings are so hard to cope.
I know it is not only me dealing with these life circumstances but this moments are hard, very hard..

You should! I felt the same way so I started seeing a counselor. It's definitely helping me cope with the loss.

I just lost my friend and tenant we have known each other since 94 we were co workers and tenant for the 6 past yrs not hearing the family movements upstairs and bumping into each other seeing his kids growing up. I’ve been fighting through extremely hard times rn, and the only person who I feel comfortable talking to about it, is moving like 10 minutes away. @@katestarke1082 From my experience, it took time to accept it. I personally learnt a lesson to not build your life around anyone because when that person leaves you will feels an unbearable void. anyway don't worry, keep contact and even if contact gets lesser and lesser, don't freak out . it's normal. you will be alright

sorry for being inactive. just got alot going on so only saw this now. Idk man I cant relate to that tbh. But I guess it would be kinda similair. Only that you will have the fish out of water aspect as well. But I think the good thing about going somewhere new is that life kinda forces you to make at least some friends there or you just wont survive I guess.

@@LuckyLego I feel that. Honestly what helps is like he said exercise and challenge yourself and go out and socialize. It was rough for me in the beginning but getting out of your comfort helps us grow. I'm glad you are pushing through though shows your courage and drive.
