Sturges? What? How do you know that? I’ve only seen some computer log-ins about raiders following Garvey and the others and the massacre and the raiders that were keen on getting Mama to help them and so, but never saw anything about Sturges being a synth.
Hilarious they even let Strong and X6 on the ship at all...if they're sending you on a mission to execute one of their best paladins because he's a synth...
+Jose Marqués I could be wrong, but I never got the impression that the BOS had goals of killing ghouls that weren't feral? I thought they just didn't like them? But yeah, this is totally weird. If you take X6 into the railroad, they immediately turn hostile. You'd think something similar would happen here, but nope!
+smb0621 Remember FO3? The Mall? Talk that one ghoul outside underworld, Lily, or something. She says they just shoot at ghouls indiscriminately. Kind of ironic, but not unexpected.
@@onyagnes6192 I never thought of this and I want an extra opinion you think you can complete the main quest with the raiders in nukaworld?? There has to be a mod or something right??
+Miguel Lemir It's more that he views synths as assets. They have a recall call that will shut them down if you say it to them, allowing for their recapture and reprogramming. So X6 would think they should do that instead of killing him.
The courser actually agreed to killing him doe guys...the dialogue option she chose was "he deserves a chance" (danse to live) and x6 said you should reconsider (actually do it) because he's good at hunting synths
Puffy 14 Yeah. He only approves because it's HIS job, and the BoS are basically taking his job. That, and it's destroying the synth. I think his job is hunting them down and bringing them back to the Institute, so destroying Danse goes completely against that.
They do. Two vertibirds intercepted me while I was at libertalia hunting the synth with x6-88, me and cait had a sleep while BoS and x6-88 fought it out.
He's asking Maxson to reconsider, not the player. He'd rather keep Danse alive as an asset. A Coursers' primary mission is to reclaim synths, not kill them. That's why he likes the player questioning the order.
Imagine if there was a mod that allowed you to have all companions at the same time. You'd have to listen to all of them voice their opinion one by one like in this video.
+ShootingStarAJM ...and then you get to expose Maxson for the trash he is and take over the Brotherhood of Steel as the new Elder with your Avenger buddies. Maxson destroyed Elder Lyons legacy, we're going to re-establish Lyons ideologies. To fight with honor, to protect the innocent, to show mercy and compassion. We will restore the BoS back to its high point. We will once again do what's RIGHT, not just for mankind, but FOR ALL KIND! AD VICTORIAM! (I can imagine the Courier just walking up to Maxson wearing NCR Ranger Combat Armor, talking in this really gruff western accent, and then shooting Maxson in the head right on the spot. Western justice man, it's the best)
Who in the world was standing guard outside of the main deck door? To have allowed 2 synths a Ghoul and a damn super mutant!, into my deck is beyond me! If I find out the name of that soldier I'm throwing them off the Prydwen!
EatitHarvey lel you're expecting too much from companions who chant the same one liners over and over and over and over. This isn't a Bioware game lol.
@@alexmcintyre7698 Well, yeah, but we're not talking about games made by other developers, we're talking about Fallout. Bethesda in particular has a reputation for lower quality production. In regards to this specific instance, we already know that they cut content with regards to Danse's story/the Brotherhood of Steel in the Commonwealth. Anyway, I made that comment 3 years ago. You're a bit late to the discussion. (Though I guess since I replied to you that doesn't really matter...)
Danse is way more savage than cait. He doesn't fear anything. In every fight no matter the location he's like 'crush these bastards' as tough as cait is she still gets nervours/scared in certain locations against certain enemies. Scary locations too.
+Ethan Stansmore it's likely that her parents had an Irish accent, her parents parents had the accent, and her parents parents parents had the accent. similar to Moriarty. that said, how she kept her accent is beyond me. it's pretty common to lose them after extended amounts of time around people who don't share yours, and I'm pretty sure Cait is the only living individual with an Irish brose in the entire Commonwealth... but yeah, moral of the story is, fuck her AND McCready. When I saw him, I blew his brains out on sight, just on the merit of being able to do something I've been dying to do since fallout 3.
+Audra Burgess I'd say Bostonian accented people far outnumbered the Irish in Boston XD. Unless Vault-Tec decided that the Irish were more fun to experiment with.
u sit at a table. there is a glass of water, u are asked to say the fill level of the glass Optimist: Its half Full Pessimist: Its Half Empty Brotherhood: THAT GLASS OF WATER IS A SYNTH!
+Druidlova I usually love the brotherhood. But DAMN that Maxson is a douche. I followed them anyway because they seemed like the BEST choice, but that's because I had the decision between a giant douche, a bunch of over-aggressive liberals and some self-entitled collection of eggheads. At least the giant douche gave me 2 sets of power armor.
Damn, hearing Deacon say that Danse was everyone's pal... That hit me. The BoS and the Railroad pretty much want each other wiped from the face of the earth, but Deacon gladly stands up for Danse after hearing about the specific circumstances with his identity. Yep, totally changing my mind and working with the Minutemen this time around so Danse and Deacon can stay alive.
Yeah, I did the railroad ending the first time, and now I'm working towards the minutemen peace ending. Regret not doing that the first time, I have a headcanon where the factions, upon the sole survivor sticking up for everyone, work out their differences and help unify the commonwealth.
After seeing how the companions interact with each other there should have been a high level charisma perk that let you travel with 2 or 3 companions instead of 1. Run up with the squad lol
+Nikolai I had Nick and Preston follow me because of an exploit. In the mission "Taking Independence", Preston immediately reports to the Castle. I had Nick as my companion at the time and tried to do the mission. I got my ass handed to me by the Queen Mirelurk and decided to find some new gear and then come back. However, when I fast traveled somewhere else, Preston followed me. I couldn't trade with him and when I tried to talk to him, he would only tell me that "We have to take back the Castle!". But I had two companions with me for quite a while. I'm not sure if it works 100% of the time without fail, but it did for me.
+Nikolai While cool, it shouldn't be more than 2, its already easy to "game" alone, but also the AI sometimes is so freaking stupid I REALLY DO NOT want to imagine playing a sneak char and going in with 2-3 5 year old AI's. Also by that point its more like I would be playing a gimped dragon age game, where I can't even control the stupidity of the AI. God I love my sneak character... Only reason I take companions is to hear their interactions (like this one)
maccready: “don’t tell me you were shocked when you found out danse is a synth. the guy has about as much emotion as a bag of hammers” by this logic, preston is a synth too
@@joshuagraham2715 , it’d make sense as to why Preston is a Synth because he remembers the events of Wars happening before the nuclear Holocaust in Fallout 4, and unless he was cryogenically frozen for 100 years like the Sole Survivor then he should have no memories of those events ever happening unless he was a Synth or a Ghoul like Nick Valentine.
@@RoronoaZoro-ur6hr What suggests that Preston has actual memories of wars before the bombs fell? He can know of wars before the bombs fell by simply reading about them from old prewar history textbooks.
It annoys me how even after all this, if you save Danse, he still talks like he's a member of the Brotherhood. Even when we run across Brotherhood members and they're trying to kill him, he still damn well shouts "For the Brotherhood!" while he fights them. They really should have changed his dialogue after Blind Betrayal, it just doesn't make any sense. I also wish they had added a side quest or further dialogue option, like maybe after a certain amount of in-game days after Blind Betrayal, he initiates conversation and you can convince him to forget the Brotherhood and join the Minutemen or Railroad instead. Minutemen would probably make more sense as siding with the Railroad means the Brotherhood gets destroyed and I don't think Danse would ever be ok with that under any circumstances. Something like that would have made so much more sense, as it is it just seems like they got lazy and couldn't be bothered to finish his character :(
Late reply but I think it's still fully in character for him to still use brotherhood dialogue. He says he still believes on the brotherhoods mission even if he doesn't believe on maxson or the extreme stance on human synths anymore. he basically says he still thinks the institute and their creation of synths can prove a threat. and he still feels like he has a bond with other brotherhood soldiers. Your idea for him joining the minutemen would be kind of cool but he already basically can by putting him in the castle with a minutemen outfit
Princess Celestia That is just really bad dialogue glitches that many companions face. Bethesda simply couldn't record dialogue for every situation and usually for me danse reacts to killing brotherhood by turning on me
+Princess Celestia ok maybe not - I just discovered that, don't shoot the members of the brotherhood let danse shoot them all. I can't shoot them I don't have the heart to even though they are pixels. anyways danse turns on you because your attacking the soliders - let him shoot them all down I never do and never get shot
I love that, despite the BoS's general attitude towards anyone not "properly" human, that Hancock is still more than willing to side with Danse. Shit like that is why Hancock is the best man in the whole game.
Preston: 'Well, Danse always seemed like an emotionless piece of wood, babe. A normal person has some rust around the edges. Here, I'll mark the location of mine on your map.'
Steven Noneya yeah, I remember trying to hand in a quest to Preston once, I had to talk to him 5 times and picked up 4 missions in the process. My brother was laughing at it.
TheEagleOfLightAndNight i find the idea that the most boring companion in the game (preston) could call anyone else boring lol. His voice actor sounds like he's tired and reading from a script.
I got red-flags/bad vibes on mission 1 to be honest lol. 'the BoS feels a bit more....crusadery/templary than usual.' *Prydwin shows up later in the story* '...seems about right.'
As a straight man playing a male character, Paladin Danse is still my true bae. ''Doesn't it feel like you can take on the world in that thing?'' Oh, just stop it, you!
Roy Earle coursers leave the institute, the possibility that one get captured and tortured or spill this information on any other way is there. The SRB had the information i think this enough. And the danse synth was a spy, what problem should he do?
@@floydlechner2445 Oh, y'know. just casually assist the Brotherhood in destroying the institute. Dunno about you, but i'd have him marked for elimination by that point.
By the way. I love how all of the companions are just sitting on the couch like: "Hey, just because this situation is tense, it doesn't mean I can't be comfy."
I like how selfless Nick is. He knows Danse and the other brotherhood soldiers would be glad to kill him, but he still stands up for Danse and even comments about how he must be going through hell right now.
As much as I like the fact you can bring your companions anywhere, a part of me would’ve also liked if they had some “Boone” like dialogue before going into a place with an enemy they hate
I agree, BOS should shoot you on sight for traveling with any of the synth companions or Sronge and maybe Hancock. If the player wants to support the BOS, they need to be willing to make the required sacrifices to align with their values. Makes for better role-playing. That said, I am very in favor of worldbuilding > player convenience.
Its still hard to believe that Bethesda cut out a piece of this quest where Danse can take over the brotherhood. Wouldve been awesome to see Danse take over the BoS.
lore wise it wouldnt really make sense for everyone to follow him knowing hes a synth. However they definitely shouldnt have cut danse joining the railroad as that would have made perfect sense
+They Told Me I Could Become Anything, So I became an Eggplant Nah, what we need is an option to take our gun, shove it up his ass, blow him into little, meaty bits, then eat him and take his position and rank in the Brotherhood of Steel. It's time to fix things and change the standards and ideologies back to the ones that were in place when Elder Lyons was in charge. NOW THAT was the BoS in its prime I tell you. Damn has it fallen ever since Maxson got control. Screw him.
Blatantly Heroic Since Sarah died to Muties, I'm guessing he took that hard, and the Codex To heart as well. But I agree with you brother! The Brotherhood needs to go back to Lyon's Pride. Unlike our Brothers at the Far West (Not Midwest) We help people, But we're taking it too far now! I mean Brotherhood are starting to hate ghouls now, Have you seen the Dialog between Hancock and Danse? As well as Genociding a bunch of Scientist when we can use them to help people! And Fuck that Nazi Salute "Ad Victorian"! We're not Brotherhood of Nazies! We're Brotherhood of Steel!
They Told Me I Could Become Anything, So I became an Eggplant The way he responds to Sarah dying to muties is a bit overboard. I wonder if he realizes that his need for vengeance has destroyed her family's legacy and is taking the BoS down with it? Someone needs to make a mod where all of the BoS do a Nazi solute whenever they say AD VICTORIAM.

Hmm, im really confused. Mcready said earlier with the response to helping a synth replacer that, "I dont care if your metal or flesh, no one should split apart your family," Now hes saying he hates synths. Im so confused
Milled2 I guess he just doesn’t really like the Brotherhood in general and holds Danse in that same regard. I mean the Brotherhood in this game are just glorified raiders and Macready hates those kind of groups
Yes, but Danse doesn't have family (he considered the Brotherhood to be his family) and MacCready IS a commonwealth citizen, afterall. Him, Cait, and Preston are both scared of synths because they don't like the idea of being spied on.
@@EditedAF987 Brotherhood in this game are far from Raiders, They're just a hard military group. If they were raiders then they would be invading Diamond City and Goodneighbor for their shit and leaving everyone dead. I know it's a different game but Caesars Legion are the Glorified Raiders.

I think the major problem with Blind Betrayal is that it’s so poorly done. While yes, Maxon would be shocked, if not aggravated Danse was a synth, I highly doubt he’d immediatley jump the gun on killing one of his most loyal men. Maybe Maxon is, I know Bethesda is bad at this, Nuanced, then he’d have his own dilemma, and based on the players choice, can actually change how Maxon thinks. Maybe if you follow his orders, Maxon shows some kind of regret, but trudges on. Or, if you convince him to keep Danse alive, he’d reconsider his ideas, and, while not radically change his mind, would consider the Sole Survivor’s actions. But, it’s a Bethesda game, everything’s gotta be black and white
I think that’s part of the reason why Maxson is so extremely angry during this questline. He isn’t just trying to convince Sole, he’s trying to convince himself. Also don’t forget he’s 20 yrs old
@@oklahomacityradiowaves5462 Constructive criticism? Talking about MY favorite game? Relax dude. I may not like Fallout 4, but there can and should be criticism about Bethesda’s morality choices and quest design

The Boulder lmao the ai with one companion is terrible enough. Imagine traveling with them all. You'll literally die every seconds because they'd get in the way.
that would be a terrible idea for game balancing. when i first played Fallout 3 i had an infinite companions mod. once i had 5 companions i kept running into a problem where every fight played out the same way. i pulled out my weapon then i put it away cause my companions already finished the fight. i don't like being on the sideline, i like being in the action, i like actually doing stuff. i like the idea of multiple companions who banter among each other but for game balancing i think 2 is the most we should get.

+Nikolai But if Bethesda did that, wouldn't that mean Cait would get that threesome with Piper and the Soul Survivor?
+BlueSpartan107 ;) yes

Hey Garvey,I think it's raining.
Danse not being of Synth and the whole thing being an Institute plot to destabilize and weaken the Brotherhood?
No.
+Brandon Bojanowski ok but shooting other brotherhood members while shouting for the brotherhood is kinda contradictory
Princess Celestia That is just really bad dialogue glitches that many companions face. Bethesda simply couldn't record dialogue for every situation and usually for me danse reacts to killing brotherhood by turning on me

im..starting to hate cait, the redhead, whatever her name is, she even hates dogmeat what the heck
+Kristina Amuan To be fair, most of her bitchness is due to 1) having been sold into slavery by her parents the second she became old (read: valuable) enough and 2) being so heavily addicted to psycho that she needs to get her damn blood replaced by a giant machine to get clean again.
+Kristina Amuan, how does one hate Dogmeat? Unless... CAIT'S A SYNTH. I FUCKING KNEW IT. Just kidding but Cait's a bitch at times.
Yea, Cait pretty much has a reason to be bitch that Dirty blue pointed out. Cait had a really hard life.
Well being raised by abusive parents, being sold into slavery and murdering her parents I think she has a right to be a bitch
knowing her past helps you understand why shes like that but it doesnt mean you gotta like the bs that comes outta her
3:30 On my way to help that settlement
Hancock, nick, deacon and curie all want to help Danse even though he probably would never help them. Damn those four are amazing
Also don’t forget he’s 20 yrs old
So much negativity. Just go back to finishing a 30th run of NV, dude. Feel happy. Enjoy what you got instead of hating what other people enjoy.
@@oklahomacityradiowaves5462 Constructive criticism? Talking about MY favorite game? Relax dude. I may not like Fallout 4, but there can and should be criticism about Bethesda’s morality choices and quest design
@@biggiecheese726 Nah man, I’m just saying, that’s a lotta anger over a vidya game. Play what you like and let others play what they like.
I really wish you could have all your companions follow you. It would make some interesting dialogue and make this scene more emotional, since they would be in a group together.
That FPS though...
The Boulder lmao the ai with one companion is terrible enough. Imagine traveling with them all. You'll literally die every seconds because they'd get in the way.
The Boulder That's a fucking terrible idea
that would be a terrible idea for game balancing.
when i first played Fallout 3 i had an infinite companions mod. once i had 5 companions i kept running into a problem where every fight played out the same way. i pulled out my weapon then i put it away cause my companions already finished the fight. i don't like being on the sideline, i like being in the action, i like actually doing stuff.
i like the idea of multiple companions who banter among each other but for game balancing i think 2 is the most we should get.
The Boulder: agreed. I wish that too. Can someone please make a mod that does it?
I love how most of them defend Danse. Even though when swapping companions most of them don’t really like Danse
3:12 I know he's a Gen 2 synth, but damn does nick look creepy as hell in darkness!
“You will do it! This is not up for debate!”
*Sarcastic Response Intensifies*
