10:03 Preston: Letting him go was the right thing to do, but now that I think about it, he could endanger another settlement. RUN LIKE THE WIND, GENERAL!
Hancock's lack of reactions is infuriating. This is the man he thought was his brother, despite his anger at him for the past few years you'd think he'd show a lot more reactions at his brother possibly being killed. Synth or not he still had some attachment to the man. Bethesda dropped the ball massively during this part. They can give the grieving raider a lot more dialogue during a heavy moment but can't give one of their main characters unique dialogue concerning his brother?? Hancock should have been an essential character during this part as its dealing with his own family. Hugely disappointed.
I have to say, hancock's reaction was, as it should be, heart breaking. They should have had special dialogue during the conversation, since it could be unknown when the switch was made, adding huge internal conflict about the true nature of his brother. Missed opportunity for sure, but I guess that's why we have the freedom to write it ourselves.
On Tumblr the a girl is doing a fan comic based on her adventures in the commonwealth with her SS and Hancock, Her tumbler is called ComonwealthCass. She did make a mini comic based on Hancock finding out his brother is a Synth before starting the main comic. It's really good, give a read if you want.
Huh. Well then... did not see that coming. Guess Piper was really on to something. Speaking of, Piper trying to kick down the door is the cutest thing I've seen her do. Not because she didn't manage to do it or anything; she just makes it look really adorable.
In my gameplay, I took Piper with me to taker him down because in my gameplay, I always choose a companion with a specific tone to what the quest is. For example, when I take down Kellogg, it feels right to use Nick with me because he's been trying to track him down. With quests helping ghouls, I use Hancock with me. With quests taking down Raiders, Gunners or any of those ruthless villains, I take either Cait or MacCready. For quests that have me playing a kind and compassionate route, I take Curie. Railroad quests, I use Deacon. Brotherhood quests, I use Danse. Institute quests, I use X6-88. Minutemen quests, I use Garvey. In the Far Harbour DLC, Nick is the true companion you should take with you. In the beginning of the game, you saw how much of a rivalry between Piper and Mayor McDonough have. I would even consider them archenemies. So it felt right to have her with me and I don't care what anybody thinks but I say that this is her true companion quest, even though she doesn't have one.
The Paranormalist *Spoilers* when I finished the Nuclear Option with the Minute Men and infiltrated the institute, I had Danse with me, after being exiled from the brother hood I only felt it right to have him on team Minute men, and give him a chance to fight back against those who ruined his life, you get a unique dialogue option with him as well after completion, where he commends you and the minute men, and you can reply with ‘We couldn’t have done this without your help Danse’ to which he replies, ‘you’ve saved my life on more than one occasion, so I guess this makes us even, Ad Victoriam, Paladin’
Yo I do the same thing but now I have the companion framework thing so I'm just running around fighting raiders and ghouls with a team of armored niggas
Yeah, he's my most favorite out of all the companions, second is tied between Deacon & Curie the third is Nick, Codsworth & Piper. I really wish we could give him some closer or something to make him feel better, all we can hope is for a dlc.
I know right, they can have Strong have multiple conversations with Virgil about his serum but Hancock can’t say anything while you’re literally killing his family.
8:37 Is it just me, or does Danse's voice sound real robotic when he says "synth" here? It's almost as if he's a synth himself, if you think about it...
ok but is nobody gonna talk about the emotion in nick's voice when the ss decides to let him die? or any of the other emotions in the other companions voices?
+Martin Ausmanis That was the funniest thing i heard about in the game, i just left hardware town from the back after getting some paint for that buy in diamond city and i heard the raiders talking about him.
You know what kind of frustrates me about all that? The fact that you don't even get to tell your companions why you made the decision you made. Maybe if they looked at it from your side then they would feel differently. I mean the only other fallout game I played besides this one was Fallout NV and in that game, if you did something your companions didn't like you sometimes had the chance to explain why you made that decision and depending on what you say they will understand why you made that decision and you maybe don't lose their approval. seriously, as much as they tried to make fallout 4 a bit more realistic compared to other fallout games, they are seriously lacking in actual interaction and diversity sometimes.
Talks yeah there were times when I was frustrated at the dialog tree because it would say something I wanted but have the wrong reasoning. Like when you meet bradberton in nuka-world, he tells you that he hates life and wants to die. He tries to sweeten the deal by offering some experimental weapons that can be accessed after his death. If you say that you are going to kill him, the only reasoning the game allows is that you are greedy and want the weapons, rather than genuine pity for him.
@@GeorgeOrwellsBookuhhhh1984 yes, there are robotics inside and the operation mechanic is based off of robotics. However, the synths are real human bodies with metal inside. Might be 'cause I was playing Railroad. This time I'm going BoS. Sorry Shaun.
I guess Hancock doesn't care his brother has either been replaced by a synth, or has always been one, nor does he want to confront his brother about this situation and their history. I guess X6 doesn't care that we're killing Institute agents, nor does he want to explain why McDonough is being cut loose. I guess the town doesn't care that it's leaderless, because they never bring up that fact after this quest, nor does anyone try to run for mayor. Wouldn't it be nice to see ghouls in DC now that the mayor is gone? Guess not... Wouldn't it be nice to convince the mayor through speech checks to go to trial, leading to maybe another interesting quest revolving around said trial? Guess not... And since when was the city council a thing? This is literally the first time it's ever brought up. This quest is emblematic of many of F4's problems. There is very little world building, there are many things in the game Bethesda's writing never seems to bother accounting for, companions never have an effect on anything, they're inconsistent, and they don't develop as characters based on events in the game, you are given so few choices to make, and what few choices you're given have no consequences.
Harry S. Plinkett this is the case with nearly every rpg, there are always plot holes, and stuff you have to find for you self. Would you rather a massive exposition dump?
4:28 Ok can I just point out the way Nora (her canon name) says that sentence? You can really see her lawyer side shining through as she's speaking compared to Nate.
I never really considered what would happen if Piper was already following you when this quest started. Kinda prefer Diamond City Security being the ones who try to bring him in, because they don't really get to do much in the game.
aviatorEngineer Is that what happens if you have Piper as your follower?? Makes sense. But what if you dismiss her and she’s wearing something different than her default outfit??

It would’ve been funny if McDonough replied “I Am Not.”
A better set up would be if the ghouls were allowed to come back into Diamond city to overthrow McDonough along with the residents after finding out he was a synth. The ending would allow you to throw him out of the window into the crowd of pissed of ghouls and goodneighbour residents.

6:42 you're a synth too danse, so you should'nt say anything
Shhh don't tell him
Really?
Aleksander Klaas new to the game
It’s possible that Danse isn’t aware at this point that he is a synth
@@PABLOPABLO-qg8cc nope, but i never bothered with the brotherhood
I have to say, hancock's reaction was, as it should be, heart breaking. They should have had special dialogue during the conversation, since it could be unknown when the switch was made, adding huge internal conflict about the true nature of his brother. Missed opportunity for sure, but I guess that's why we have the freedom to write it ourselves.
On Tumblr the a girl is doing a fan comic based on her adventures in the commonwealth with her SS and Hancock, Her tumbler is called ComonwealthCass.

The Paranormalist *Spoilers*
when I finished the Nuclear Option with the Minute Men and infiltrated the institute, I had Danse with me, after being exiled from the brother hood I only felt it right to have him on team Minute men, and give him a chance to fight back against those who ruined his life, you get a unique dialogue option with him as well after completion, where he commends you and the minute men, and you can reply with ‘We couldn’t have done this without your help Danse’ to which he replies, ‘you’ve saved my life on more than one occasion, so I guess this makes us even, Ad Victoriam, Paladin’
Yo I do the same thing but now I have the companion framework thing so I'm just running around fighting raiders and ghouls with a team of armored niggas
I couldn’t even find Piper for this quest
For this quest I take Hancock so he can find out his bro was a synth
They should have had Hancock say more.
Yeah, he's my most favorite out of all the companions, second is tied between Deacon & Curie the third is Nick, Codsworth & Piper. I really wish we could give him some closer or something to make him feel better, all we can hope is for a dlc.
Besides the fact that Hancock is Mcdonough’s brother, yea, he should’ve said more.
I know right, they can have Strong have multiple conversations with Virgil about his serum but Hancock can’t say anything while you’re literally killing his family.

Ave, true to Caesar.

@Vault Boy 76 well he is a super mutant and he is essentially second gen so yeah....

There is very little world building, there are many things in the game Bethesda's writing never seems to bother accounting for, companions never have an effect on anything, they're inconsistent, and they don't develop as characters based on events in the game, you are given so few choices to make, and what few choices you're given have no consequences.
what Hancocks brother is diamond city's trusted mayor of diamond city
Well I applaud the fact that you avoided the New Vegas plug.
Harry S. Plinkett this is the case with nearly every rpg, there are always plot holes, and stuff you have to find for you self. Would you rather a massive exposition dump?
