One of the best movie entrances of all time… is Maurice. Cesar and the others go before Maurice, while Maurice carries no weapons. The moment Maurice enters the room, sweeping his great arm over Caesar’s rifle, quietly saying, “no…” The moment Maurice sees it’s only a child in shock, unable to speak. I would die to save Maurice. Is it just me?
Caeser allowing Nova to tag along with them with little fanfare speaks a lot about his character and how he is nothing like Koba. Even when he's at his lowest point and consumed with vengeance, with the death of his wife and son at the hands of humans still so fresh in his mind, Caeser never starts thinking of humanity as a whole as the villain, his wrath is firmly focused on the one asshole general who killed his family and he never starts treating other humans unfairly if they don't threaten him or his friends, unlike Koba, who deemed all of mankind as inherently evil because of his traumatic experiences with a select few evil humans, and he continued to uphold that belief in Dawn despite witnessing evidence to the contrary.
In the words of Caesar, Koba wasn't an ape. Koba as a bonobo, which are mostly peaceful and loving primates, was so far removed from his species nature that he couldn't have been considered a true ape.

Maurice is that one friend or even father we wish we all had. His wisdom and just the character he is. He would always make you feel like you had someone you could count on if you just needed to talk or cuddle.

@@jamesgray7857 I thought that the Simian Flu just removed the ability to speak, but the mental facilities were still intact. The virus killed people. But it looks like it mutated and now it’s not letting people talk anymore. Like Nova. She’s already exposed to the virus and she still lives.
Maurice really embodies the general characteristics of orangutans perfectly - as far as I know, they are extremely smart, peaceful and friendly, so I love to see it in the movie
Before, they look like they were in a zombie apocalypse looking for food. I mean, look at the way Caeser holds the gun. Like he Trying to see where the zombies are at.
They should do a “Nova” origin story on how she became mute, and her time after Ceaser ‘s passing. I mean she must’ve had moved on to be with other humans at some point.

Caesar may not like humans like he used 2, but that doesn't stop him from letting Maurice keep Nova. He must've known what it's like 2 b alone in the world as well.
Maruice is literally the cutest and most sympathetic character I have ever seen
Way more empathy tbh
Ceasar has sympathy too
Bad ape is the cutest
i love maurice he's one of my favorites
I swear, WETA Digital worked their asses off with this movie. The close-ups on Maurice look incredible.
It's the best cgi I've ever seen
@@alexhetherington8028 Right? Every minute detail was captured perfectly, if I didn't know any better, I'd say there was an actual orangutan on set.

That's obvious though. Caesar was raised by humans all the way up until adulthood. Humans were his family.
Koba is so human. That is definitely human trait in him.

As Maurice wrote it down in Caesar's Story, the two species are much alike.
Maurice looks completely photoreal, I havent seen a cgi character that looks more real since.
Probably the best cgi ive ever seen. Top notch.
The big twister in twister the last one seemed alive
I love the relationship between Maurice and Nova, he literally treats her like she’s his own daughter
❤
I love how Maurice reaches out to move the gun barrel away from Nova.
Maurice have a heart for the innocent girl

You'll go for a fictional movie character?
The sound design in this scene is brilliant
