The novelty of the Forbidden Door concept has worn off, in large part due to a lot of formerly NJPW stars now being AEW talent that we see every week on TV, and also because current NJPW is not in a good place nor loaded up with stars the way it had been at some points in the last 10 years.
Why don't aew sent some of their wrestlers from their bloated roster over to work for njpw to help build it back up. Then next year maybe forbidden door will mean something.

I love giving nicknames to my family and friends - I call oldest niece EZE not b/c of Eric Bischoff - Eazy E the rapper who helped start the N.W.A. see was the 1st of my 5 nieces it's also fun since she and her sisters are learning their letters and #'s I wrote EZE on a card I gave her? I'm so proud of her b/c she came up and found me and said "That's not how you write Easy E" I said "I think you're right it's like this -EaZy E right?" She told me "You're wrong" I said "Know what? Go find your Dad (might brother) and I think we'll tell you how to do it." She did, I jumped on the internet pulled up some Eazy E photos, they came back and came back and I said to my brother "This is how you write correct?"
It wasn't Tony Khans creative decision, according to sources from the UK dirt sheets who are close with Ospreay they all claim Ospreay made the decision to put Swerve over as Will felt it was too soon to be Champion.
