At least hunter only books 5 matches for the shows then a 5 hours of aew dark with one good match we all wanted to see. TK needs to stop getting so horny for these 5 star matches that only him and his creepy uncle dave want to see. Forbidden door is not so Forbidden anymore when it happens every week in his toy box.

Did EB watch the same PPV we all did, it was a very good show. There was at least six good matches on the PPV card, even the zero hour had two good ones so that’s eight.

They usually don't ever have an issue with the ppv.. they usually always put on pretty good ppv's, the problem is, it usually doesn't translate into anything.. coming out of the ppv, it always how GREAT the matches were, but then the ratings decline and the attendance is low.. once it starts to translate into ratings, viewership and ticket sales then I can make a more accurate assessment on the product..when wwe puts on a ppv, almost always the show following, the ratings go up..I need that for aew..I need some of these awesome matches to translate into more than meltzer ratings
It's just the forbidden door gimmick is tired out , especially seeing as tony khan bought out njpw top stars and left it bare .it just isn't the same anymore

AEW is a joke. There is a reason their audience is falling off a cliff while WWE are about to hit their heads on the moon. It's a bad show "booked" by a mark with money that just wants to see his overpaid toys play wrestling. AEW will never change.

I grew up watching Nitro when Eric first brought the Cruiserweights in. What Eric said is absolutely true. Those guys did highspots just like the modern guys, but they had psychology and sold when they needed to. When a guy was doing a dive, his opponent wouldn't just be standing there with his hands up. The guy taking the dive wouldn't even look in his opponent's direction until he was in the air. After the dive, both guys would sell. They wouldn't immediately jump up and go to the next spot. It made logical sense. They wouldn't do five different dives in the same match, or do a dive 30 seconds after the opening bell. I don't understand the malfunction with these modern guys.
Eric was happy about the main event for a change and then bang back to hating AEW. Love it.
MJF feels off right now. He had a great return with the Adam Cole thing and following promo but since it hasn't felt right. I think they'll right the ship with him but something is off so far.
Problem is I think he's not a full heel.Hes still pandering to the crowd. This comes off as a face thing. Hes supposed to of gotten his edge back. Cant have that when hes being cutesy to the fans. He has to be insulting them and they have to be booing him.

Regarding Toni Storm, her character has become boring and tedious but admire her speaking in another accent by dropping the Aussie and going to a pompous Southern English one and doing it well.
What steam did Connie think could be put behind Okada and his three Make A Wish kids? You can't put steam behind something if the thing still can't move forward. The Bucks have been costing the show viewers during their segment for years now. The "old" Bucks aren't going to help either, because they've always been garbage. But now the novelty has worn off for most of the people who tried to buy their self hype.
AEW would improve drastically without them. On camera and off.
The worst part is that the stories don’t have to be particularly good or overly serious or emotional to just work. for example, Otis and Chad Gable -that slow progression towards the eventual turn. It’s not that serious and no one‘s even thinking about it after the show is over, but every time the story comes back up on raw, the whole crowd remembers and they get behind Otis. It may end up being a great story or may not, but the crowd is engaged because you have a sh*t heel and a lovable babyface who will eventually have to square off and you have a building conflict and every week is a new chapter and building towards an eventual blow up.
They will fight next wrestlemania. Who the heck gonna wait for that.
I will say,I enjoyed half the PPV. Half the card was good, made sense, might have had a story. The other half was garbage, but we all have a difference of opinions, nothing wrong with that. Love the show

I agree with Eric to extent, I thought 4 or 5 of the matches were mediocre, I thought Mercedes/Vaquer was excellent, Danielson v Shingo and Orange/ZSJ were excellent technical matches. The ladder, MJF and Jericho matches were lacklustre despite the effort the guys put into it. Strickland V Will was absolutely fantastic, Id say a B- show for me.
It ended before midnight so I was happy but ending around 11:30 would be better. It's better than the 12:40am that Double or Nothing ended though.

Can't really compare, two completely different eras. Starrcade had way better talent, though. Those guys were movie stars compared to the talent today.

I wouldn’t say the PPV was bad by any standards.
However… the only match honestly worth a damn on the entire show was Swerve vs. Ospreay.
It was the best match, with the main players, involved in the main feud, for the main belt, in the main event.
TK always wants to give his audience “their money’s worth” by overdelivering on the amount of matches, and sure there were some ‘fun’ ones.
But only the main event actually had anything truly compelling to it.
PS: The Bucks are destroying AEW.

I thought Forbidden Door was a solid C. The Ups (Main Event, Women's matches, Ladder match, Danielson) were quite, quite good BUT the other 4 matches had NO impact on anything going forward and I just didn't care who won (even though the matches were solid). AEW needs to do a better job and getting me invested in these matches...give me a reason to care.
The problem is that Tony Khan probably thought this show was great,and his opinion is the only one that matters to him.

I stopped watching AEW after Wembly. I still can’t believe I paid $50 for that train wreck. The visual of Jon moxley with wooden scures in his head was enough to make me switch channels. I’m more of a Shawn Michaels, Kurt angle, Bret hart fan. I just don’t see how that hardcore shit requires any real talent.

Eric, I've thought of the perfect metric for pro wrestling. This goes way back to the early 1970s when I saw a pro wrestling match on ABC's Wide World of Sports as a child under age 10. There was a lumberjack in the television audience, and he ran in from there to save a babyface, then was interviewed. As a child, I totally believed it was real.
That made me think. Children commonly believe in Santa and the tooth fairy. Apply that to pro wrestling. At WHAT AGE would a child stop believing in the reality of a pro wrestling show they're watching whether it be WWE, AEW or some other?
This is the fun part for you, Eric. If a child were sat down to watch the AEW programming on an ongoing basis and given no access to the internet or anything else that might influence him, at what age do you think the child would first think "this is fake"???

Less is more. Would not be opposed if they ever had a 2 night Royal Rumble 3 plus hours each night. Women's Rumble one night the Men's the next night

It's so entertaining hearing these shows tell the truth then paying 50 dollars to watch lame matches that could just be on dark or rampage. To be honest there only one match on the show I care to watch and that is the ostrage and swerve match. Finally TK booking him right. How can I take AEW seriously when I know for a fact I could beat jungle jackoff in a real fight. My friend what would you rate this show out of 10. Be honest
@HabsMike25 yep keep it short with the best matches ending the top stories . Two nights is much better for the big shows. I get bored of stuff that could be on the regular shows and skip past them. Big reason I watch it on delay. Give us must watch TV. I really want aew to get worth watching again

As much as I'm critical of AEW's awful week to week booking, you could usually guarentee the PPV's would deliver...this was a f*cking STINKER though, maybe the worst AEW PPV on record? OC vs ZSJ was surprisingly good, my "match of the night" honestly (I'm so over OC but that was a banger) Ospreay/Swerve was nearly a banger but had a sh*tty, borderline "dusty finish" and the wrong result. Mone looked embaressingly green 'n' sloppy next to Stephanie Vaquer, who's a genuine star, again, wrong result. Mox/Naito never got out of first gear 'n' looked sloppy as hell. The Young Cucks getting to, not only live out their little w*nk fantasy and get in the ring with Okada and Tanahashi ('cuz they were cutrain jerkers in New Japan and Gedo would've, rightly, NEVER, let them rub shoulders with the Rainmaker or the Ace) but get the win, was cringe AF. Even MJF turned in a sub-par performance, did he just not gel with Hechicero 'cuz he looked good against Danielson? Ladder match; again, utterly wrong result; Takashita was the guy, the Cucks putting their young-boy Jack Perry over instead was embaressing as all hell. Honestly, just bad man, I feel like I just got rinsed for 20 bucks...
