I'd give Cena the 17th title. Unlike Flair, John has never embarrassed himself or the business, never had legal issues, never had a bad reputation outside the ring, and has done more than Flair for promoting Professional wrestling during his career than Flair did. Ric Flair was never, not ever, the global superstar that Cena was. His exposure in NWA/WCW while on top was never as wide and far reaching as Cena during his run. The WWE launched a network on the back of the Cena Era and went truly global.

@@RoseyRKbooing Cena became a fun thing. It became a part of the show, and one fans were fond of. Didn’t start that way, but that’s how it ended. “Nobody” hates Cena at this stage. He’s a product of the machine, and he did everything he could to put on a show.

Chelsea Green is a gem, she's the epitome of underrated. She's a great heel but with how funny she is she can easily be a face as well.

Randy and Cena have had one on one at almost every WWE PPV except Wrestlemania. I think his last Mania match vs Randy Orton one on one, for nostalgia.

Cena did a lot for theory and solo. Solo is part of a huge stable. His feud with Cena made people believe him as a future main eventer and austin theory was a tag champ.
Solo is currently arguably the biggest heel on SD right now, so where are you getting this idea from that Cena losing to him was pointless? He pinned John Cena, he just got through pinning the WWE Champion at MITB, and he will potentially feud with Roman once he returns.
I personally would like to see him vs Orton or punk.. one of the best with ring work and the other one of the best to bring it to him on the mic
I think CM Punk vs Cena should be his last match, but I don’t expect to hear much praise for Punk here. And Cena always gave props to Punk as “the guy” to take his title and even wore CM Punk merch. He didn’t wear Randy merch.
Give Cena another title and have him match up against Cody who would turn heel at Mania
We never got The Rock vs HHH at WrestleMania and their careers mirrored each other to an extent. I think Orton would be the best opponent for Cena at WrestleMania because their careers mirrored one another and they never wrestled at WrestleMania. It would be awesome to see. Now him winning the title, I would love for him to win at Money in the Bank and cash in on whoever is the champion. It's only fair. It will be interesting to see how they book his farewell tour.
CM Punk vs John Cena at wrestlemania in the main event. Punk walked out of WWE and one of his biggest issues is that he never got to main event a wrestlemania, at that time John Cena was champion usually and was the guy that was main eventing wrestlemania. Perfect story.
I think THE ROCK CENA 3 at MANIA since both had a Win and we could need another Classic like THE ROCK and STONE COLD in form of their third encounter even when with Steve it wasn´t quite that balanced.

Tbh I feel The Rock should be his send-off match. They had such a great story with real heat between the two. They both hold a win over 5 and then at wrestlemania, they had another stare down to call back to their rivalry. So their star power and one last ride between the two to see who's the better man and win the rubber match would definitely draw numbers.
John Cena should win the World Heavy Weight title to break Ric Flair's record. Ric has ran his reputation to the ground, John Cena should have break that record + it will give more prestige to the belt since John Cena will be part of the lineage

It should be with Cody for the strap. He's retiring regardless so he either loses and goes out on his back, just short of being the all time record champion or he wins and retires as 17 time champion. He comes out on Raw, vacates the belt and says "see you at the Hall Of Fame." Done.

CM Punk wins title between now and Wrestlemania. Cena vs Punk at Wrestlemania and Cena goes over breaking Flair's record, Punk gets his Mania main event, Punk turns heel, and now both Cena and Punk have brought some prestige to the world heavyweight title that WWE desperately needs for that title. This will accomplish 4 things while setting up Cena for a short babyface run with the title and turning Punk heel which heel punk on Netflix is a lot better than babyface Punk on Netflix. This will make all parties happy including Punk as all he wants is a main event spot at Wrestlemania. After Mania, Cena puts over the next heavyweight champion. They need to bring that title up to the same level as the Undisputed Title. This is how you do it! I should be a writer for WWE 😂
If Punk is gonna be a heel, that needs to happen _before_ the match. It would be cheap for him to turn heel after the fact. He's trending dangerously close to being a heel now anyway, and it seems like they have planted the seed with Michael Cole's commentary on Punk.
Or, they could just leave him as a tweener which I think is where he flourishes the most.
@@D2Kprime I agree to a point but just depends on how it would play out before then. He needs to be face to deal with McIntyre, after that it's free game. I would argue that you would want the Cena/ Punk feud to start face/face. Make it look something different than it is. Then in the middle, you either turn him heel because Cena said something he don't like etc. or you wait till Mania where Punk plays Cena and turn him heel there. Either way, make it unpredictable. Having heel Punk vs face Cena and knowing it's coming is too predictable. Needs to be set up in a savage way.
Punk or Orton would make a lot of sense. Punk more. My selfish side wants another Cena vs Styles. Put those two together and you're guaranteed something special.

When Cena debuted in 2002 I thought he looks like a young version of Sting and Angle can be his Flair…but it didn’t quite work out like Flair vs Sting story did over time.

Cena is closest to break the title count. Bron and or Gunther.
Gunther is probably winning the WHC at Summerslam. Cena vs. Gunther for Cena's 17th World Championship is a Mania caliber match. Have him defend it against Punk at Money in the Bank 2025, someone else at Summerslam, then drop it to someone like Gunther or Seth at his final show (probably Survivor Series if they're doing the full calender year?)

I think he should do a gauntlet match. Build up tension with other wrestlers for months, Let him win the championship from seth before mania and have him lose it to someone in the match. 6 different opponents he pins them all and the last one that arrives he loses to. So he gets to pass the torch and leaves mania without a title
The guy it should be is Angle, but I don’t want to see Kurt take bumps anymore, it worries me. So I think a way to get there is yes bring Angle back but then have him manage Gable with them both being heels - as many have said, there is a story there that writes itself. And Kurt needs to be the wrestling machine persona, not the dork heel we all love.
And Gable wins clean. This is a great way that Gable can get two rubs at once; but also it protects Cena as Gable is exceptional at making other people look like a million bucks. Having Angle involved helps Gable with the mic work, which he is fine at, but keeping up with Cena has proved challenging for many.
I would have said Bray Wyatt or Randy Orton, only one option now.
Randy Orton needs to win the title two more times you could swap it around like he did with the Christian feud. And then once both of them are at are tied at 16 get Ric Flair to be the special guest referee and have the two of them go at each other at wrestlemania to break the record for the most titles in wrestling history

I think the wiser choise is Cena still be "only" 16 times champ - you look at some of the icons of the past right now, and see how low their human reputation has fallen, who in this world is 100% sure that Cena 20 years later will not be charged of any heavy criminal act or something like Vince? You just can't know his future.
Having 2 16 time world champs at least you can choose who you prefer and go with in ads and other stuff. The stupid stuff Flair doing right now, will be forgotten in 5-10 years, and you again can present him as the best ever.
Plus 2 16 times World Champs gives different generations of wrestling fans an argument who is better and why, with each having their reasons, why kill it.
I think cena should wrestle for IC title at Wrestlemania besides break 17th time record. IC title means the most ultimate complete of 2 decades of his career and the only title cena not winning it, i don't know if he facing the current IC contender bron breakker, ilja dragunov, or sami zayn, maybe even gunther, but the thing is if cena accomplish his journey in wwe he should won IC title
I agree that he should start off with a few matches against his generation (Orton, Punk, Styles), then possibly feud with a younger star to end his career and help put them over.
I can see Theory being a big possibility since they have history, and A-Town Down Under is obviously about to split up after losing the tag belts. I think they'll push him back into singles again.

All these new generation wrestlers can easily get over themselves nowadays; some "rub" isn't necessary. I'd like to see a three-way main event with Cena, Rock, and CM Punk. No over-acting, no heel-like characters. Just three guys being real and wanting a final match together with handshakes all around before and after. Final night final event at Wrestlemania. Have guys like Undertaker, Hogan, Flair, Angle, Bischoff, Hart, etc. in the front row watching on. Cena gets the victory.
