Could you try to explain the falling step of Jack Dempsey? Many people tried to demonstrate it on youtube and it seems that they all failed. Jack Dempsey describes it in his book ”Championship fighting” and argues that it's the best possible way to throw a lead punch. In this context, he criticizes harsly the common jab. Therefore, it could make for a very interesting analysis (if done by an expert like you). Dempsey's version seems to be a hard punch (harder than a normal stepping jab), but also one that exposes the fighter a lot. Dempsey says he transfers his weight on the lead foot, then he raises the foot of the ground, which makes him fall forward. I think he punches as he falls, but the details of how he raises the foot (with most of the body weight on it) and of the moment he punches aren't 100% clear to me (and to many people, I think). Also, Dempsey executes it with his fist landing thumb up, trying to hit the target with the last three knuckles (primarily with the knucle of the ring finger).
You can find the book on the internet. The falling step is explained at pages 14 - 16.
Some coaches would charge you to enroll in their online courses to learn their stuff while Tony is out here making everyone a champion for free

You're killing it man!!!! I still can't believe all this is here for free on this channel. Thank you for sharing this. Let us know if you ever wanna come to Xativa, Spain.
Bless Tony for giving us this invaluable boxing information 🙏
holy shit bro the effort and editing put in to this video is so amazing. It looks like motivation which translates in to quality content. Much love.
I watch Tony Jeffries to learn techniques and Mike Tyson footage for how I can implement them because I’m short/short arms - this is one of the best videos yet I love the long ones
Excellent stuff! Thanks so much
you are doing a good job :D Saving the most important ones in my (kick)boxing playlist. Very helpfull this one with a lot of diversity

Even though I didn't go to the boxing gym, I watched every minute of the video. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge and experience with us.
That's our boxing coach! Two thumbs up for Tony 👍👍💪
Tony! Mate! I just wanted to say thank you again for all the love you show us no money scrubs. I can barely afford to get gloves, wraps and a speed bag and I got two kids to feed as well. Not being able to afford a training coach, this is absolutely the next best thing. I appreciate the knowledge you share and your genuine encouragement for people to get better. Solid dude you are 👍
As someone who sparred for years in the gym I can say this video is just amazing and really translates into practice.
A lot of things I already knew and use. Wish I saw this video in the beginning of my journey.
You have really, really good video ideas recently.
Can you maybe do a video on best exercises to get fast foot (movement) for boxing?
This is PURE GOLD!!!!!
just planning to start boxing thank you for your guides
I have my first charity boxing fight in 4 days. Rugby lad from The Midlands now living in Sydney. Your videos have been top shelf and I've learnt so much. Just wanted to share my appreciation. Keep up the good work Tony, you have made me a better and more confident beginner boxer.
Just started taking lessons at a gym the these videos have helped in ways that I didn't expect. My anxiety keeps me back sometimes but watching all of the videos gave me enough knowledge to not walk into the gym and be terrified.
Just subscribed. Thanks for the free lessons
This is excellent! Thank you.
U r amazing Tony, thank u so much !! 💯👊

Thank you kindly; from one Coach to another!! One would have to pay for info like this, and even then it wouldn't be this informative. 👊🏽
this helped me so much at sparring thanks
Your videos are gold thank you
Thank you, ive just started boxing and i think i can become a solid fighter, these tips help develop fight knowledge, and makes yourself unpredictable if you use different variations. Makes it harder to read a pattern.
Got my first fight coming up this saturday. Been watching you're videos for the past year while training at my club, you have helped me so much with gaining boxing knowledge. Win or lose on saturday you helped give me the confidence to get in ring and i cant thankyou enough for all the work and effort you put into these videos. Big respect mate 🥊❤

Appreciate this ma man - have you watched many of my vids?
Is this the best chanel of youtube or what? Thank you very much Tony.
I think so mate 😀
great outstanding boxing lessons and tips. Thank You very very much! I need to try them against bullying rushing forward smaller pressure fighters, unfortunately I usually got completely lost when they have cut the distance and let them bomb me with short strong hits. I am just an amateur, many years of thaiboxing, trying always to keep people away with feet, but sometimes in english boxing sparing good boxers, obviously you have someone rushing like a bull and its kind a stupid I was letting myself as You said blocked and get bombed... So I need to move a lot, use my long straight punches to keep distance, hit hard which I believed was not a good idea imagining that the pressure will be even bigger, but I understand its to make him respect me and finally aim for the body shots.
12:26 lol that's an amazing one if you have an opponent who you have a problem to reach or hes a good counterpuncher.
I just throw a sloppy jab to bait anticipating his counter jab (which leaves an oppenening) lean back and throw a combo
Edit: shared this with my nephew and 2 friends who box too
Tony your videos are one of life's good things. I love it.
I think after your counter jab at 13:38, (while still inside) I'd like to incorporate the right uppercut followed by the left hook.. both upstairs.
Great man !Great boxing !Great tips.....
Glad you enjoyed it
Nice one Jeff tonny
Solar plexus shots are always good learned about that back in my early years of Karate. One spot that is actually illegal in MMA but legal in boxing is the collarbone. Takes very little to break the collarbone or at minimum dislocate or injure it. And once that happens you're done you can't throw punches as effectively. A solid straight to the collarbone he's going to feel it or it'll end the fight. Trust the shoulder shrug that usually follows and hands dropping.
New to the channel Tony, seen a lot of your shorts over on Instagram. Great video! I have a white collar bout coming up in December and would love some tips for this kind of match. Usually the opponent isn’t skilled but can bang so would be interested on your take. Keep up the great work Tony 🥊👊🏻
Great hear mate, that's amazing 🥊 Try this out mate: ua-cam.com/video/jhcIjFgz2bI/v-deo.html
PURE GOLD
Brilliant - you have a great vid here
I appreciate it ma man
@@Tony_Jeffries You are welcome Tony - you are helping people more than you will ever know. I started boxing when I was 11 - because I was bullied without mercy. The instant I went to Boxing lessons and took to boxing like a duck to water - the Bullying stopped dead in it's tracks. One of my teachers was the cousin of Lionel Rose. Perhaps one day I will tell you my story. Keep up the good work Tony.
Thank you🥊
No problem 👍
Allright I will tell you as soon as i challenge the pressure fighter with body shots
Seems decent and effective, despite mostly having solid muscle torso on shorter fighters. But striking in the place they don't expect mostly, seems very effective by fightning psychology
so ive never fought in my life so far at the age of 17 but me and my friend have decided to box each other for fun and im just taking some knowledge from this
He’s back 🤜🏾🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yeah mate
Well, what can I say...simply magnificent Tony! Thank you for making these in depth and informative videos for us, it's greatly appreciated! You're a true champ mate!!! PS - Waiting for you to start making a boxing podcast :)

Thanks Tony, I think you are great. A lot of experience. Can you please make a video how to boxing without gloves, because in real life you can't carry boxing gloves with you every day. Thanks again
I have paid for personal boxing coach & he DID NOT share any of this tips. Tony a billion thanks, will share this videos to my boxer friends. Love from Malaysia ❤
Thank you 🙏
You’re welcome 🥊
Nice tips
great vid
Because you made this free of charge I will like every new video you make
That's cool man, I appreciate it 🥊
On the 1-2-1 for the shorter guy closing distance, a great variation of it is using diagonal footwork with it. The diagonal footwork forces your head to bob from side to side as you're throwing the combo.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't think I've seen you teach diagonals Tony.
As a short guy I always use this!
Fantastic content!
Glad you enjoyed it
Learn a lot from tony

The bad thing is that my opponent may also have watching ur video
Would you be able to create videos like this, only showing when your opponent is also moving and punching? As I've been noticing in sparring, that your opponent also never stands still, so if you move to the right, my opponent also moves to the right or moves back or side ways. Hence, even though I understand these are great exercises, it would be great to see what you do when your opponent is moving too and punching back and how to apply these techniques when your opponent is doing so probably too ( so kind of like a slow sparring session + analytics). Loving the videos though!
thank you
You're welcome
