I’m 50 now. Haven’t played video games to much over the years. This one brought me back and let me tell you it’s the best video game experience I’ve had in my entire life. From Contra alien wars, which was my all-time favorite by the way, to madden football, to my sons PS 4 games I’ve tried them all, but just haven’t been enthralled until now, Tears of the Kingdom, best game in my life so far. I’m all in and love it. You see I go back to the vectrex i’ve played so many video games, but never spent a lot of time on them If they didn’t capture me & captivate me. The new Zelda is worth being a gamer again bravo! I spent six hours on it last night straight out the box😂. Absolutely amazing. 🎉
I am 54 never put down the controller probably don’t play as much as would like with work in the way but building a play list when I retire but both of those Zelda games are amazing can’t wait to play TOTK
Great list! I would have never thought a truck game would have been the number 1 to kick it off 😂 but after listening to you talk about it I gotta say I'm intrigued!
I can't wait to try Dredge - it's the next game on my wishlist that I'm planning to pick up. I love the art style and the game loop seems so interesting. The atmosphere at night seems so spooky and different to the daytime, and I have a strange love of fishing games.
I found Children of Morta thoroughly addictive but I think maybe part of it was because I enjoyed playing in coop, spending time with my 15 year old, (who was also completely hooked by it) which isn't that common these days.
For sure would be Totk, whether it's rediscovering Hyrule's surface, going deep underground or flying from island to island, I just can't get enough of that wonder I get messing around in that game on my off time, incredible stress reliever for me too
I definitely agree about TotK. I always go in thinking about one objective but 2 hours later I'm in a different part of the map doing something else and haven't touched it, and I don't feel bad about it haha. Loving it!
I have to go with Darkest Dungeon. It's probably the only roguelike that I have not gotten bored with nor insanely agitated over dying so much. And of course a big shoutout to SnowRunner, seriously everyone needs to play this game. I myself have it on XBox, but one day, it will grace the SD card memory of my Switch!!
Hades is definitely my addictive game on Switch. I’m a pretty busy dude so I rarely have time for all the intricacies of huge games like Tears of the Kingdom. I love that I can just hop in and make a couple runs attempting to escape the Underworld.
For me being a big baseball fan, I just play MLB The Show constantly. I can’t be a sports GM in real life but I can take control of my favorite team and build a World Series caliber team. I put 80+ hours in to last years version and I’m about 40 hours in this year. Can’t get enough.
No Man's Sky, Dragon's Dogma, Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning, Dragon Quest Builder 2, Skyrim, Monster Hunter Rise and Monster Hunter Stories are games I keep going back too. Out of games I mentioned most definitely NMS. My son bought it for me close to end of November 2022. I already have 1, 000 plus hours in the game and has top all my other games in hours. Safe bet to say I'm highly addicted to NMS 😂
My most addictive top 3 Skyrim: living in one of the town for a few days moving on to the next adventure Fifa: training up my youth academy and focusing on different skill for each to have a role on the field Botw: the survival aspect and the beauty in the world
For me, nothing ever came close to the original Seiken Densetsu III or Trials of Mana. At this point, I lost count of how often I beat it throughout the years and I keep on coming back. Trying out new class combinations in different scenarios is so addictive. In fact, just planning the optimal team and strategy for the next run is part of the fun.
@@hmuphilly9129 It definitely is! My biggest issue with the remake was that the added abilites watered down the class system. I understand that they wanted to add more variety, but it took away from what I loved most about the game. They also nerfed some of the most powerful spells. Still a fun game, just seeing all the different designs for the classes come to life was pretty cool.

My current addictive game is Slime Rancher, I was playing after work the other night and couldn’t believe 2 hours had passed. Keep up the good work guys!
For me, addiction takes the form of monster hunter rise... still waiting to pick up sun break (that dlc price is pretty daunting) but I love trying different playstyles for familiar monsters... it's a brilliant combination of big game hunting and dress up 😂
Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak, Dead Cells, Hades, Skull The Hero slayer and Darkest Dungeon. These are my "addictive" games. Making it hard for me to clear my backlog. And now i am addicted/obsessed with TOTK! Is there a rehab center for video game addicts out there? 😅😂
I mean this in the kindest way possible but in the back of the Snowrunner bit I needed up on your review for Mudrunner from 4 years ago and you have certainly honed your craft!
@@mattprior5596 right more pros than cons at this point. Just need the price to drop a wee bit more for a game I'm not completely sure about. It's a bit steep for a leap of faith
I've mentioned it before but Farm Tycoon is hands down my most addictive game, and as I've said, the game has major issues, especially the larger your farm gets. I do have an older switch so that could contribute to the issues, but at 9 open squares the game lags, crashes and freezes regularly. There is some auto saving, but you can still have to repeat a season of work after some crashes where it doesn't trigger. You can watch and learn what to look for before a crash, but some will still sneak up on you, mostly it randomly freezing in menus. I love it, still play it constantly, but yeah game has major issues so if your going to get it, get it on sale. I payed $1.99 and I feel like that was fair for the level of frustration I've had with it. Still can't stop playing....
I am absolutely hooked to Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive right now. 23 hours in and I can't stop questing and taking down huge baddies while messing with my party to see who's the best. Not to mention the breathtaking levels and story that keeps you hooked.
I'm in the same boat for Persona 5 lol it's my 3rd go at it total (having Persona 5 Vanilla then Royal on PS4 then Switch for portability) and I've never beaten it but I'm 35 hrs in on switch. I stop at times if I get stuck or out of it but it's way too addictive. Can't really respect that length but still the quality is there.
I got hopelessly addicted to dead cells not to long ago. Put in about 50 hours in a week and a half. Rougelikes in general get me. And way back when it released Pokemon unite was one I couldn't put down.
If Tears if the kingdom wouldn't be so addictive, I would definitely be playing Dredge. Loved the demo, almost bought it, now it will be sitting on my wishlist for after totk
Right now, its Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, this is so impressive and the controls are so intuitive. The audio, art, and story matches a rich gameplay. It will be my addictive game for now. Before that, I was playing Dead Cells and Witcher.
Usually I get addicted to strategy games like Advance Wars or creative design games like Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley. So I was pretty surprised at how addictive I found the indie RPG adventure game 'Haven'. I picked it up in a sale having seen the intro on UA-cam which was a stunning bit of animation with a killer soundtrack, and I expected to just dabble in it now and again. Instead I completely fell into the story of two young lovers stranded on a remote planet, having fled their highly-ordered and very controlling 'utopian' society. You live day to day exploring and uncovering the mysteries of the planet, dealing with hunter-droids sent to bring you back and fixing up your little crashed spaceship to feel more like home. The soundtrack is killer and fully voiced dialogue warm, engaging and feeling like a genuine relationship. I couldn't put it down. It's not too long either, it felt just the right length. It's not going to set the world on fire, but I was pretty gripped by something that felt a little Daft Punk cool crossed with Iain M. Banks / Sherri S. Tepper sci-fi and while I usually jump back and forth between games I was stuck on this pretty much every spare moment I had until it was completed. Mileage may vary, obviously, but well worth checking out.
I keep coming back to Hades, by far my most played game on Switch. Dredge looks really interesting, definitely one that will jump to the front of the backlog when the price is right.
At the moment nothing is more addictive than TotK. The gameworld is absolutely mindblowing! Getting side-tracked and losing hours every single time you set out to do a quest never gets old.
Hello guys! Been watching for a while now but this is my first time with a commitment. Just wanted to say thanks so much for making these videos I really enjoy them and they are part of my every day life, so again thank you. Also one game I wanted to suggest that is addictive as hell and I'm not sure if I've seen it mentioned on the channel that is The last spell, it's an amazing turn based base defense that's so much more than that. Anyhow, keep up the good work and peace out.
First off, I love the channel! Really great stuff and a awesome list, for me another game worth mentioning that’s addicting is Cuphead, the 1930s art style, the run and gun gameplay, it’s a brutal game, it looks “cute” by my God, it kicks my ass so much but every time, I think to myself, okay one more go!
Totally agree with Mario Rabbids. Persona 5 was also a massive time sink. I would add Loop Hero and Roguebook. Both I have as fillers or chill games, but end up syncing a few hours without even realising. So good! Plus, I haven't put Zelda down - an incredible game.
for me, Stardew Valley is just perfect on switch it keeps calling me to come back and relax, also Hollow Knight, Triangle Strategy, Monster Hunter Rise, Hades, Persona 5, Darkest Dungeon, Northgard, and recently Tactics Ogre and Don't Starve Together.
I agree with you: TotK is my addictive game at the moment! I just can't put it down! I'll go play it saying I'll play just a bit of it and before I know it it's 4 hours later! It's incredible because as good as BotW was it didn't have that effect on me. But I simply cannot put TotK down. It's incredible.
Molly Medusa has got some critical reviews for seeming archaic, but I still really enjoy it for being an ambitious 3d zelda-like indie to come out so close to TOTK
I'd be hooked to Dredge for sure, if only I could put down Tears of the Kingdom. Dredge has been on my list since I saw the review, just looking for more time.
If you think snow/mudrunner is fun, get a Wrangler (I'm biased towards them, personally) and go wheeling/rock crawling in real life. It's so much fun! Make sure it's a standard though. The amount of control makes it so much more fun than an auto transmission
Monster Hunter Rise is still my most-played Switch game EVER. I couldn’t get into any previous MH games - not even World hooked me in (at the time the menus and such were daunting). I gave Rise a good solid shake - and man am I glad I did on release. My brother and I have a blast on the weekends playing it - and we’re both 40! Haven’t been this hooked on a game since Rocket League.
Currently I'm Addicted to.. Freedom Finger, Sol Cresta. Mario Maker 2. Finally the kings of addiction. Monster Hunter Snowrunner and Dead Cells. The open world and tons of things to do. Dead Cells do I need to say more.
I just got a switch to get into monster Hunter. It's been such a fantastic time, just so meaty, it allows me to sink teeth, claws and general appendages into, wasting my time beautifully.
I really enjoy y'alls lists. Just a recommendation for one, top 10 local multiplayer games. I really like Sniper Elite series and the fact that it can be played locally on switch. Battle Zone is another great one. Just wonder what games yall would put on a list. ( I think local wireless is so great because one day there won't be any one playing it online but as long as you have a switch and a copy of the game on 2 systems you are set )
Snowrunner is such an addicting game. I also resigned myself to the fact I may not ever finish it. There is so much to do! I love the chill vibe (until I tip the truck at the last leg of the journey.) Dredge is my favorite addicting game I don’t own yet. I’ve watched 2 full walk throughs and played the demo. I will buy it soon but man. What a crazy good game.
2D side scrollers are my current addiction, and thanks to you guys with the last couple of weeks EShop sale list my 256gb sd card is now full. Chasm and Neon Abyss are my current accition (for now). Nintendo thinks I also have a problem because they are hidding my wish list from me. I can quit ANYTIME, just after the next EShop sale.
Never thought I'd be as addicted to a game as I was to BOTW. The Zelda team just had to prove me wrong 😂 I'm still avoiding most combat (why ffs am I so bad at evading now? I literally mastered it in BOTW half a year ago 😅), but I've found some tips online that hopefully will give me some more confidence 😂
I just saw someone build a cage filled with death traps like spinning blades, spinning flamethrower etc and used it to trap a bunch of strong Bokoblins. Its glorious! Gonna try it myself later.😅😂
@@Ser-Smiley Damn that sounds amazing! I mainly just have to remember that I have more items than bomb flowers and keese (?) eyes that I can stick to my arrows 😂
Battle brothers is my most addictive game - I've had to ban myself from playing it after clocking in 150 hours 😂 It's one of those games that doesn't end and each mission neatly leads on to the next one, so it's all too easy to say "just one more contract then I'll stop!" indefinitely.
I had been waiting for Murtop to release ever since I saw it on the coming soon page about a month ago. I saw Chasm the same day and bought it instantly cause I had no idea it was coming to switch. Been loving playing through it again.
Railgrade. I bought it becous you said that it has grate controls for a strategy game. And it deos! It is so easy to pick and so intuitive. I absolutly love it to the point i find myself playing it more than Binding of Isaac (which is my favourite game of all times).
MH rise and sun break is the game that's so addicting specially that Capcom supports the game a whole year after release. Once you've grinded to upgrade everything a month or two there's a new thing to upgrade.
For me its Loop Hero, Amazing game. If you only have 5min to kill you can still do something in it useful. Its like a mobile game but better. You can play for 5min or 5 hours.
Snowrunner is fantastic and plays really good on Switch. Ultra Age with its Roguelike or roguelite mode is great. Lastly Super Mega Baseball 3 is a great way to chill. Also SMB 4 is coming out I believe next month. Also shout out to Children of Morta, one of the best games on Switch period.

Power Wash Simulator has to be my #1 addictive game
At the moment nothing is more addictive than TotK. The gameworld is absolutely mindblowing! Getting side-tracked and losing hours every single time you set out to do a quest never gets old.
Loving Dredge 👊
The issue with snowrunner is that any region passed Alaska, runs like crap. Especially the late game maps
I agree. Snowrunner is unreal. So much content I can’t keep up. I love it
Our hidden gem here is the river city girls series. Super addictive side scroller beat em up!
NuclearThrone. The best game
Switch up, dead cells is 100000% my addictive game
I'm addicted to One Finger Death Punch 2
I love The Last Spell! Came out last month on switch
Oh nice! Mark
Its a SwitchUp, one that got away game.
It looks fantastic!! 👍
You convinced me to download the Japanese PUBG. Dunno if I can get it to work but if it does than this will be an interesting experience for sure.
I absolutely loved my time with MH - just sad I haven’t been able to afford sunbreak yet. I love how many updates they still seem to be giving it!
SwitchUp out of context:
"Insert to the soul cannon and they die." Crazy laugh.
I'm throughly obsessed with Wildfrost right now.
Yes mate. Mark
for me, Stardew Valley is just perfect on switch it keeps calling me to come back and relax, also Hollow Knight, Triangle Strategy, Monster Hunter Rise, Hades, Persona 5, Darkest Dungeon, Northgard, and recently Tactics Ogre and Don't Starve Together.
Picked up Snowrunner cause of y’all a couple weeks ago and I’ve sunk dozens of hours into it! Great game!
Really hope they make more after Sparks of Hope, great game all around. Thinking about getting either Dredge, FAR: Lone Sails or something else next.
Get Dredge! You will not regret it
🎉 You'll enjoy it for sure! Mark
Sounds great guys, added it to my list 😎
Molly Medusa has got some critical reviews for seeming archaic, but I still really enjoy it for being an ambitious 3d zelda-like indie to come out so close to TOTK
Before TotK, I’d get lost (literally and figuratively) in Snowrunner for hours. Strangely calming game
Dredge is a brilliant game!! Really addictive but as I said before everything’s on the back seat why I smash some more persona 5
Is it possible to play invert in Knives out? I've downloaded the game, I can't seem to find the setting for it.
The Trails series got me hooked, really glad they bought it to the switch. Hopefully they bring cold steel 1,2 and the sky trilogy along as well.
Never heard of Knives out until now!
Have to give it a go for sure 😊
Railgrade. I bought it becous you said that it has grate controls for a strategy game. And it deos! It is so easy to pick and so intuitive. I absolutly love it to the point i find myself playing it more than Binding of Isaac (which is my favourite game of all times).
Really happy to hear it. Mark
Got Prodeus and is absolutely amazing. And on Wednesday getting Warhammer Boltgun.
