I agree! There aren't alot of Year Up videos on youtube that are casual, you know, like this. I am so glad I found this and I hope that you continue. I am thinking about applying and starting this program but I just don't want it to be a waste of time...

Nice! I'm currently a Year Up student in Year Up Miami, I just started my internship with GE Digital a couple weeks ago, I've been loving it so far! Congrats and good luck!
Does the internship pay you?
You do get paid, but not by the company in which you intern for, Year Up pays you. It's not much, $300 every two weeks. But that's during the internship phase, during the first six months of the program you only get paid $100 every two weeks. At least that's how it is here in Miami, not sure if it's different in some of the other sites across the country.
How much is the cost to get in?
Aww congrats, I'm an alumni of Year Up NCR class of January 2017. Best decision I've ever made. It hasn't even been 5 months since my graduation and I'm now making more than my age per hour. Crazy!! I took the IT path and my phone literally blows up daily with job offers. When you start make sure you network network and network!! Make yourself known! I plan on moving back to Atl and I know the job market is competitive but now when I apply to a job down there i get called back immediately. Good luck!!

I just Graduated from YearUp Program. It was a rough journey but worth it. If you are of the age 18-24 don’t hesitate go for it!

I currently reside in Chicago. I am on the waitlist. One of the recruiters of Yearup told me I should take the academic assessment and pass in order to get into the program, is that true? What are somethings that will affect me into trying to get into the program?

I'm taking my admission test today and if I do well I guess I get an interview. How did your interview go and also what specialty did you choose?
Cee Cee awesome! My interview was great they mainly just asked questions to make sure there was nothing going to interfere with my finishing the program n also to make sure I wasn't over qualified....I didn't really chose my track I thought I was doing hardware n software/helpdesk but I actually ended up in project Management but I learned hardware n software as well didn't learn project management till the third module

Hello I'm interested in this program and I heard about in house testing is that something that you have to prepare for and if you don't pass will you not be able to apply again in the future?
i would its like an sat test if u dont pass u have to try again in if you passed in high school u can just submit your scores but if you dont pass you dont get in they give you another chance to retake it though its math and reading

Hey girl so I herd about yearup but have questions about the stipend is that based on your expenses like everything you pay for do they give you that ??? Cause I'm scared I won't be able to afford everything and then have to find another job while I'm there
Its the same for everyone 250 every 2 weeks for the first half then 350 the second half

Was it after the interview? I got interviewed 2 weeks ago and just yesterday I got a call from my interviewer to send her my newest transcript.

Hey. I'm planning to sign up for year up. But my only concerned is how long each class is due to me having a small partime job. I only work 3 days. Would this be a problem?
