I went into the year up program with no direction and broke. Now I’m 2 weeks into my internship at Bank of America as an Agile Coach and just got my Professional Scrum Master cert 2 days ago. I worked hard, and in less than a year, I’ve gone from making 11.50 at Walmart, to looking for full time positions with a starting salary close to 6 figures. It’s so worth it!
@@reyesalejandra85 I went to Philadelphia so they offered IT and Business Fundamentals. I worked hard to over perform and they offered to let me take both courses.
@@reyesalejandra85 If you’re looking to get into Agile coaching or Scrum and your area offers project management, I’d suggest that you do that course and then see if they can let you take some of the IT course material as well.
It’s on their website but I believe around $100-300 every 2 weeks. You’re not going there to get paid actual cash, you’re going for the overall experience and support hopefully making good connections and landing a good internship which will set you up for a better career after.
Omg you were so informal and on track throughout your entire video. I love it! Thank you, you’ve answered every question I’ve had about it without me having to ask you in the comments. 💕
The interview was great, they ask about your background and aspirations. The interview to me was a little intimidating at first. The requirements are listed in the video and the YearUp website :) hope this helps!
@@itsdestinymonay Thank you so much!! I’m going to apply, I’m just nervous about the interview and they said they only accept a certain amount of students a year. Do you know of what makes you stand out the most?
Did it take a long time for them to give you an acceptance letter? After completing the application how long did it take to hear back about an interview?
For me it kind of did! I didn’t find out if I was accepted for like a whole month I just thought they didn’t move forward with me, so if this happens don’t be discouraged! :)
How long did it take you Jada? I just completed the application part yesterday and was wondering on how long it would take for me to hear back or if I need to do something first myself.
It’s been so long since I did this program. It was quite fast and easy waiting for responses and to get things going. Hopefully they reach out soon! I’m excited for you!
Depending on the track You select and how long before it’s supposed to start, that determines how long it takes. For example, I applied for the fall cohort due to start in September, in February. They were not touching applications for that until late April, early May. So it took that long for me to hear about the opening of interviews. I ended up having my interview in the beginning of June because those slots filled up like crazy the day it opened. 6 days later I was accepted. This is in NY. Prior to that I applied for the spring cohort due to start in March, in January. I think after about a month, I was waitlisted because the class was already full and selected. So after attended an info session, I pulled my application and applied for the fall.
@@Sam-fg9lf Because of COVID, classes were online temporarily. It depends on the location, but some are starting to go back on site because it is important to learn the professional social aspect.
