How did you get accepted to enter? Was it a tourist visa? Just because citizens of Vietnam in other countries are having a difficult time returning to Vietnam during the pandemic
Sorry to hear all that. But at least you managed to arrive at your destination on the next day without anymore headaches...I was once "paid" $5K+ for my travel "mistake" ever when on my flight from New York to Arizona; We had to make a connect fight at Las Vegas airport and instead of waiting in the airport for the next flight, I jumped on a taxi going to the... casinos which only 30 minutes away.... :) You should arrive VN few weeks earlier as Tet holiday just passed. Hope you two enjoy your trip in VN and be safe.
I go to Vietnam 3 times a year. Just pick up my visa at arrival airport. They do tell you that the visa approval letter is needed...maybe wait for confirmation next time hey...alot of visa companies available just $30 if you pay for VIP service you can get it in less than 2 days
I dislike all the countries that require visas ! What a pain. Weird to see the various reactions to Covid a year ago. You guys have patience , needed when traveling !
There are definitely some experiences that are simply challenging to get into. Plus, when traveling so much we had to start making sure we had plenty of empty pages left in our passport. Well, almost a year of international travel made us a LOT more patient. 😂 It is so interesting to see what others and ourselves did as the pandemic was just picking up steam. Thank you for watching!
Oops! One of those things. I spent four hours at the VN/KH land border trying to convince the border guards that the guy who'd had an epileptic fit on the bus ride down was not on drugs. This stuff just adds to the anecdotal tales when you travel. Vietnam is way my favourite country, and well worth the wait.
This is fascinating to me because I did the exact same flight in 2016 and I don't remember getting asked about Vietnam visas in Laos. I'm pretty sure we got it on arrival. Problems like this are hard at the time, but you'll be thankful what you learnt in future travels. Also hope everything is okay in Texas with all the bad weather and issues there.
Thank you, Sam! Definitely wish it would’ve been easier. We’re doing well in Texas - we were super lucky and had no issues personally. Friends and family had a tough time with electricity and water outages, but all are okay now. Thank you

Unless you put the filming date in the title the vid remains misleading. Note that no posted comment realizes that it’s an ‘old’ vid, one of a 3-4 series with recent posting dates. The only reason I realized the mislead was because I recently reviewed Vietnam visa issues.
Happened to us! We actually completely forgot to get the visa. When we checked in at the Hong Kong airport they asked for our visa and we are like holly shit! Lol the Hong Kong airport check in person gave us the option of what you were showing on your phone...essentially voa. We had it done in 30 min and made our flight. Yes a rip off but we were happy that it was done quickly.

Vietnam has become such a hip, young travel destination that people forget that its a Communist country - and I believe all Communist countries such as China and definitely N Korea require a Visa from the "outside" world.
Amazing video.. sorry about what happened. But hey, it's all part of the experience and you will learn from it and it will make you a better traveler. I've had some shocking experiences as well.. and some lucky escapes... But better off from the experiences.
Thanks so much for watching! Yeah, we certainly learned a few things from all of that 🙃. Honestly, I think filming the experience helped keep us accountable and calm.
hi,you should have entry permission letter from Vietnam immigration and confirm hotel booking in quarantine which should be attested by Vietnam immigration .this just E visa not enough for travel to Vietnam due to covid -9
Hello! Thanks for the comment. This was filmed in February of 2020, before Covid travel rules/restrictions. We knew what paperwork was needed, we just did not apply on time.
The agent isn't wrong. You need either a letter for visa on arrival or e-visa. I done it both ways. Letter was through a 3rd party. But nowhere near $180 per person, but I did not expedite it. Vietnam is a great country so hope it's beauty made the final price worth it 🙂

Yikes! Sometimes you just can’t avoid those situations. Thanks for watching!
Interesting 🤓 insight 🙂
how can you travel to Vietnam now? Is it that your travelling from cambodia to Vietnam now? Are they more open to travel from Asian countries?
This was filmed in February of 2020.
Ty for travelling to Vietnam I actually speak that language 🇻🇳😙
This is fascinating to me because I did the exact same flight in 2016 and I don't remember getting asked about Vietnam visas in Laos. I'm pretty sure we got it on arrival. Problems like this are hard at the time, but you'll be thankful what you learnt in future travels. Also hope everything is okay in Texas with all the bad weather and issues there.
Thank you, Sam! Definitely wish it would’ve been easier. We’re doing well in Texas - we were super lucky and had no issues personally. Friends and family had a tough time with electricity and water outages, but all are okay now. Thank you
visa on arrival is on decline since the local authority's want it to fade out
Số Happy 2 of your enjoy and good luck in Vietnam..
Thank you! ☺️
Hope you guys had plenty of fun in Vietnam
I love your video, now i consider Vietnam to be my first place to visit after have been staying in Thailand for 2 years now.🤗
E visa is really easy. You just have to plan ahead
Indeed!
But what was the rush?? Why not just wait till you've got the view before booking the flight??
We had to get to Hanoi for a cruise! We wish we could have just waited but alas, we had somewhere to be! 😆
ah, that s okay them!!
A beautiful video, a lovely virtual walk, it's very relaxing. Thanks for sharing!
Things happen guys just chill…..it always works out! A test of your patience and humour!
So true!
Why dont you have to quarantine in Laos and VN?
Because this was filmed in February of 2020 before any travel restrictions or quarantine requirements. Thanks for watching! ☺️
@@KeepGoingPlaces oh... I see. Thanks for answering my question.
Thank you for your sharing your experiencing so we might get a lesson from its if next we going to visit Laos or Vietnam.
Happy to help 😅
State Department says visa on arrival by air is available at international
airports. Not sure I understand this foul up.
You need a letter of invitation for the visa on arrival.
But what were you thinking, I got anxious by watching this video hahahaha
You guys started the video like: 😁
Ended the video like: ☹️
I really love that you recognize that its all on you. Im subscribing.
Thanks for the sub, glad to have you! We really thought (mistakenly) we could just get a visa on arrival instead. When that wasn’t going to be possible, we tried everything else. For sure all on us, poor planning, but hey- we made it out in the end! Thanks for watching, sorry for the anxiety 😬
Sorry you ´ve been through that :( but I´m glad you got to Vietnam!
Thank you so much 😊 It was an eventful journey, but we made it! Looking forward to sharing our Vietnam adventures 🇻🇳 thank you for watching
Good story. For sure I can see how this could happen as almost everywhere in SE Asia there is visa on arrival. Happy future travels
Im in vietnam. And im not local. I also need a visa when i get in vn. However i always leave some space for them to work out the visa so that will be much more cheaper than urgent cases that you facing. It feel sad that you guys met this kind of situation . However when you guys come to vn will enjoy it very much ! Especially in saigon. There is much more fun than hanoi 😋 stay safe (hold tight on your phone ) tips**

That's strange that US citizens need a visa for Vietnam. I can go 15 days completely visa free with my German passport.
I’m not sure why we need them specifically, but that’s awesome y’all can go 15 days without one! Thanks for watching
It's special ☺️😅 agreement made.
Australia citizens need visa for Vietnam too
Vietnam has become such a hip, young travel destination that people forget that its a Communist country - and I believe all Communist countries such as China and definitely N Korea require a Visa from the "outside" world.
Nordics countries can also go to Vietnam visafree for 2 weeks
Fast way to get a Vietnam visa is getting from Vietnam travel agencies in Texas. Very fast. You don’t have to buy airline tickets there 😊😊
Hi, is VIetnam going to open up in July?
it is part of the experience, and years from now it will stand out as a good memory :)
@@KeepGoingPlaces .best of luck .to be honest your video was amazing .i can,t forget .
Thanks for the lesson.
Are you still together LOL travel is the best way to see how your love handles stress (and to dip if necessary)
The agent isn't wrong. You need either a letter for visa on arrival or e-visa. I done it both ways. Letter was through a 3rd party. But nowhere near $180 per person, but I did not expedite it.
Vietnam is a great country so hope it's beauty made the final price worth it 🙂
Oh man... I feel so sorry you had to go through all this. The process of travelling by plane itself is already stressful but then this on top... Anyway I'm lucky you made it to VN! Welcome :-) Let me know if you need any advice, especially for Saigon. Happy Travels! Nhi
It was all okay in the end. Really it was our mistake, so no worries. Thanks for watching! ☺️
Booking a flight without an approved visa is a rookie mistake not one experienced travelers make. Especially now with covid travel restrictions changing at any time
No free wifi in the Airport?
I really enjoyed your video. Great channel. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Greetings from Albania. 👋🏼🇦🇱
Thanks so much! ☺️
Wooow Nice......
I am still amazing.... actually can FLY..... how did you guys do it?
I can't wait to fly....... and wait.... LAOS dun require mask?
This was filmed in February of 2020 before travel restrictions were in place. Thanks for watching!
So Vietnam is open for tourism 2021
Already said good bye to noodle lady. LOL. Thant's funny.
We couldn’t handle the embarrassment! 🙈
Have been enjoying the vlogs
Thank you for watching! Glad you’re enjoying our videos
Hey guys! Thanks for sharing this "travel blooper", great to see you guys keeping positive despite challenges and sharing the experience...Since it's been over a year are you able to "guffaw" now? 🤣🤣🤣 Have a great day wherever you are! All the best
I don’t get it, why is it a rush that you have to get into Vietnam knowing it is still “pending”? Couldn’t you stay in LOAS for another day or two until it is approve? That would have saved you all the extra rush and paper work fees. I know this is a year ago but what exactly is the issuing puzzle.
I got to take my Hat off to you two for your COOLNESS and patience. I would scream from the top of my lung. Keep traveling .... good luck and stay safe ....THUMB UP ....
Ouch. These are things most people, that don’t travel a lot, don’t realize. This had to be a headache!
If we don’t show our Vietnam evisa in Laos, they’re not gonna let us get on the plane??
I just subscribed & watched it change to 5K, not sure if it was me but I'd like to think so. I've watched about 5 videos so far and have really enjoyed the content.
WOO HOO!! We’ve been watching it for a couple days waiting for 5K! 🎉 Thanks so much for subscribing!
I let the ad run, gave a thumbs up and subscribed. Hope this helps!
It absolutely helps! Thank you! 😊
lol ive never gotten my e-visa in the allotted 3 days. it always takes 5-10 days for me
Just had to double check if I needed a visa for Vietnam 😅
I thought Vietnam borders where closed??
They are! Our videos are super delayed right now. This was from Feb 2020. Thanks for watching though! ☺️
@@KeepGoingPlaces oh Feb 2020. Thot it was Feb 2021! Was super excited actually thinking can go to Vietnam now.
Yeah, sorry to get your hopes up! 😅
@@KeepGoingPlaces no worries. I enjoy the vlog none the less. Xcellent travel content.
Oh no I thought I was open lol 🤦🏻♂️
I saw this video a few days ago and panicked because my partner said we can get VoA but didn’t research that we needed an approval letter! It was the weekend so we applied for e-visa and currently waiting on it pending. Our flight already booked is tomorrow morning and is the 3rd working day of the approval time of the visa so wish us luck 🙈😅
did you make it?? i gotta know!! what a cliffhanger!!
@@junecroft8435 no we went to the airport still waiting for it and had to watch our plane leave without us! We were absolutely gutted, it took another 3 days after that before we got the visas through! I cried so much, luckily it was our only big mistake on our 5 month tour of Southeast Asia
