Thank you for sharing your time in LP. Jordon, what you said after the alms ceremony shows how sensitive and respectful you are to other cultures. You both have shared so many special experiences and sentiments. Thank you so much!
I had a bad experience watching the alms ceremony there a few years ago, with Chinese tourists right next to the line of monks, literally cameras in their faces. My friend and I were so disappointed and couldn’t bear to stay. You have a wonderful respectful attitude and knowledge.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful journey through Luang Prabang. Love your knowledge, respect to their traditions and cultures. I love how people there are going on their business not to worry about pandemic. Thank you guys again awesome relaxing beautiful video.
I've lived in Luang Prabang twice in the past 7 years and hope to return. I'm not sure when this video was uploaded, but surprised to see the Night Market and Food Alley so active. I miss everything pumpkin. Nice to see the foods. I've eaten a few times at the restaurant where you got the chewy pastry, but kinda moved it down my list 4 years ago when I was charged 70 cents for a small piece of butter for the baguette and a look like I was nuts when I asked for it. Many mixed experiences in LPB, but I think of it and the students I met through Big Brother Mouse as a home I miss.
Hi, guys thank you for making this video. I’m planning to go to Luang Prabang next summer time. I really wanna know more about my culture. I really enjoyed this video.
Thank you for both of you guys visiting my home country Laos so beautiful video.Right now I’m in Living in California Bay Area my second home Oakland San Francisco.
Hi guys, do you have any links and prices to preferred places to stay and eat and any attractions you recommend that haven’t been covered in this video?
hello I hope you enjoy your travel to Lao my homtown I live in Vientiane Lao right now I live in U.S.A for 40 years when I retrie I will go back to lao for the rest off my live
The alms ceremony has a lao name " het tak bat".Normally it's a religious event which happens everywhere in Cambodia, Laos and Thaïlsnd where locals nourishe the monks for their daily meal. Because of Anglo-Saxon invasion ,and chinese invasion this custom is getting more and more. unspiritual ,"circus trip". A Breton who lived many years in Luang Phrabang.
👍You are very Good Explanations and Respectful Humans to the People’s🙋♀️ 🙋♀️I take my daughter there in 2016 stay at my Cousin Guess house at Ban Phanluang right on Nam khan River and she love it! 🙆🏻♀️But in 2010 I bringing my Jerk and Stupid Boy friends and Stay at Guess house Along with Mekong River! Nice vids guys. You make me miss the place. We did the hot air balloon ride in VV. Spectacular. The zip lines are a blast as well. We did Tad Fane and also at the 4000 islands area as well. We had a house built on my girlfriends mothers farm. We spend a month or so in winter there. I uploaded a few videos on utube as Joe Dirt just for kicks. Best of luck to you both.
Oh, I wish we knew! We’re back in the States right now. I imagine as more and more of the world is vaccinated things will really open up - maybe this summer!
Thank you for your good advice if you are not a Buddhist believer do not participate in any religion ceremony, you may pay your respect Buddhist faith in the same time do not disrespect your faith in God. God bless you, ( Oh! I forgot to tell you I am from Luangprabang myself but live in US about 40 years now.
@@KeepGoingPlaces thank you... after sending you this comment I already visited there... they are not open yet... but once again thank you for your reply... 🙏
I did that in 1993, only me and 5 other foreigners in Luang Prabang, only two guest houses in town. If you want authenticity you are at least 20 years too late. It's a circus now, Sorry about that. Same could be said for all of South East Asia. Though I am old now, I wouldn't want those lost years back to be young again now in 2021.
Nice video and I really enjoyed. I don’t know why they still hang them commie Soviet flags in 2021. When I visited Laos back in 1993 and saw the USSR flag hanging, I was not thrilled.
I have been told by a Buddhist monk that if you aren't Buddhist best not crowd near monks. It's more about food wastage and maintaining space than who can and cannot. You missed the whole point.

Yeah, I have seen the Chinese tourists standing next to the monks. How rude, they were being disrespectful to the custom and its people of Laos.
Great video, y'all! That penang pumpkin curry looked SOO GOOD!
It was delish! We were just saying we think it might be our favorite curry ever!

How did you get Mary Steenburgen to do the voice over?
We’ve got connections 🤫

Interesting History in “Huang Prabang UXO Museum.”
Alms offering anyone can join in.. that's good merits. Regardless any religion
are the vegetable buffet really open??? 🤤
This was from our trip in February 2020 just before the pandemic hit. So, we’re not sure if it’s open currently. Thanks for watching!

It’s not Soviet flags it was Lao commie political party flags
Communism is not just a USSR thing.
Lots of BS in this video, everyone can participate in giving alms. It’s about earning merits. Buddha never discriminate. Just learn how to do so.
