Thanks much for the helpful walk-through. My 4610 went “dead” last evening after a cooling system flushing. The high-low selector momentarily became stuck in neutral. After some fiddling it then moved normally, but the motor would not turn over. Day has broken. I am heading out into the 20 degree morning to apply what you so well communicated.
Did you ever figure out why the blue Ford tractor wasn't starting even Fter the neutral safety switch replacement? I know you said you suspect it being the connectors to the neutral safety switch being too loose but I didn't know if you actually went in and figured it out.
They’re all over the internet but here’s one on Amazon. www.amazon.com/C7NN7A247A-Ford-Tractor-Neutral-Safety/dp/B071LGDLKG?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&psc=1&smid=A2TIAION8D3A3L
I have a 2910 with the same gear shift configuration. The neutral safety switch wires pop off also. Where the wires come up through the rubber grommet, do you have problems with oil leaking through the cover. If so, how have you fixed the issue. Thank you.
I fixed it after it popped off in the video and tried to squeeze the connectors together to make a tighter fit, but I’m sure one must have popped off again. I might put ring terminals on so I can screw them down.
Well done teaching video, easy to understand and good lighting on the project to see what's going on.
Glad it was helpful and thanks for the feedback!

Let me know how you make out!
Awesome! I’m restoring a ford 4000 and I need to check this out as the previous owner bypassed it
Thanks for.a.good, clear tutorial.
You need to make videos on 4/5 speed also so people will see how easy it is to replace switch
I wish I had one to make a video on!

No I haven’t gone back yet, but it’s gotta be that connection. It was just way too loose.
Have a link to that replacement part?

I do not have issues with oil leaking through there. If you have oil leaking through there, then you are overfilled.
yepp...wire popped off in video.

I will not work on one if I can’t fix switch to , not going to be blamed for death
Never bypass a safety switch
Could run you over or your children
I knew a old farmer who did and it broke his back and cut lower arm off
Hey, farming wouldn't be one of the most dangerous professions if we didn't do things like bypass safety switches.
