    Got my b7 S4 off an older guy, looked after it. Had all its stamps! It had a misfire that he was told was the chain. About 5k to replace it. I bought it for 7k. Thought I'll work up to the chain- changed the plugs, wasn't them. Changed the ignition coils- boom. Stopped misfire.
    Had a strange, metallic rattle. . . Found it to be a heat plate by one of the mufflers, pretty corroded, drilled a new hole and bolted it through there.
    Haven't had an issue since.
    Amazing engine. Beautiful sound
    The ONLY unreliable thing in the car is the fuel tank. It keeps going empty.

    07 b7 s4 owner had the car 2 years and I’ll definitely start a channel. What I can say is the car for (me) gave a lot of financial stress and 9 months of payments plus insurance to have it sit in my drive way. Car ran strong I thought and got me further then 12 hours away, I drove the car everywhere. Come to find one day it doesn’t start. Had it gone through was over my head and took it to dealer. 3 months later replaced with used engine. Problem was cam adjuster failed jumped a time still ran for awhile and then cracked a tensioner to cause it to jam not crank by hand. The car also had severe intake manifold leaks and the engine kept going. From my experience buy a good Audi 4.2 with history of repairs and no oil leaks! if you can’t then leave her be, previous owner integrity is a must because these engines can’t be neglected. With used engine serviced by Audi she is restored and 0-60 times are 5.0 seconds flat at 300ft above sea level on a good day. Exhaust upgrades help!

    I’m thinking of doing a couple things to mine first a remap and bigger air filter and decatted exhausts but I don’t knoe exactly how much bhp I will get by doing all this I was told by a few sources that if I remap it and change the air filter I can get about 500bhp or more

    • @bubleman2010
      @bubleman2010 4 роки тому

      Dude, there is absolutely no way on earth you will be able to get 500bhp on this v8 s4, with just exhaust, air filter and tune. You would be lucky to squeeze 50bhp doing that.

    Quick question. I have a 2006 S4. It is catless, but it has been burning oil. Its coming from the exhaust... I heard my PCV humming, so I replaced. The smell and sound went away for a few days, but then it failed again. I replaced it with a vaico PCV, but I think it failed again. I can hear the dead goose noise, and the exhaust wreaks like oil. Any ideas???

    • @ringsthings4404
      @ringsthings4404  4 роки тому

      After market pcv suck, its expensive but get a oem one and u should b good, see if that helps and then if u still continue to burn oil its something else, I got my pcv used from another s4 with low mileage for cheap

    Looking at this 08 S4 with 177k miles for $6k. Says “drive belts changed” 2 years ago on the carfax-nothing about timing belt or guides though. Worth it or Na?

    • @superfalcon022
      @superfalcon022 4 роки тому

      No, you NEED those chain guides done especially at that mileage

    You think a 2008 Audi A4 is reliable? I’m a college student and need a car and don’t know if it’s a good car a lot of people telling me that the car is only trouble

    • @ringsthings4404
      @ringsthings4404  4 роки тому +1

      I think it can be reliable, but u gotta keep up on maintenance, any car could become reliable once the common issues are taken care of .since your in college I honestly wouldn't, unless u have cash ready for something to go wrong or u pay for one in top condition
