You know, the B6 S4 has the cup holder above the radio, not by the brake handle. They should have used a piano hinge for the glove box. It's a very stupid mistake. The center armrest/lid hinge is another design flaw. I've removed the headlamps on my 2004 S4 many times over the past 16 years and the flimsy mounting tabs never broken. I've never had a problem with those vents either.

Man, you're right. The forums are FULL of assholes who think they know everything. I've owned my B6 S4 for 16 years. I'm on the ORIGINAL chains, guides and tensioners at 150K miles. I change the oil every 10K miles as recommended, with Mobil 1.

I've got a 2004 S4 with over 140K miles on the ORIGINAL chains, guides AND tensioners. It's not an issue on all cars.

I'll tell you this, I had a D2 A8 4.2...ye ole 40v...engine was very reliable! Only thing on the car that didn't stop working.

I have a garaged since new b7 S4 6 speed standard that we turned to a monster street strip car. We had to put in drag seats in order to run at the track. If anyone is looking for a litterly new set of Recaro leather seats from a 2006 that have been conditioned every yr with elephant oil and stored away. How much would the timing chain cost to get fixed at a shop

What is the consequence of not doing the guides before they actually break? It sounds like it's really broken and throws codes all over, but it takes some extra bad luck for the valves to actually touch the pistons, is my understanding. Am I right or wrong?

Any issues with launching it? Just got my b6 s4 6MT and tried to launch it and more or less side stepped the clutch and it was a clutch smoke show lol. Any advice would be appreciated!!

Just bought a 2004 b6 S4 6 MT with 123k miles for 3k. Exterior is a 9.0/10 and the interior is equally as nice. Only issue besides abs wheel speed sensor needing fixed is trying to figure out when letting off the gas pedal there's a clunk. Can hit the clutch just right, right before letting off the gas and it's like a normal car. Transmission mount??

I have a 2004 Audi S4 4.2 L V8 when I bought the car another car wasn’t treated good and who had it they didn’t take care of the car everything I have to do to the car so far it’s a long list and still slowly working on it but the car has seven coats right now I’m hoping I get the last two codes to go away and I hope they will never come back again one was on sale near seven or misfire and one was on cylinder cylinder five Fuel injector the cheapest place I found to order any parts for this car is ECS tuning Good price for parts for fuel injectors call packs and spark plugs I had to replace all them I’m bout to fill injectors for right now at the cocounsel awesome coach go away they don’t come back I will definitely buy the rest if you want factors but I’m going to go with 500cc injectors and their price range for them is about six to $700 but for the ones on ECs tuning the cheapest for two of them and depends on what time the market market is sometimes they have good sales or the prices are lower and they’re still cheaper than dealership or our parts store that’s my personal opinion for that company I also have to order valve cover gasket‘s I have to get a belly gasket the kit for the valley gasket that way it comes with everything that I need for that what you can get off of ECS tuning any part you need for any kind of Audi they have it I do have a few videos where I posted on here and yes I am slowly working on this car is taking time I work a lot and most the time I don’t really have time during the week to do anything and it’s a good car for my opinion yes I’m having to work on it I bought it like that I only paid $1000 for it so yeah I got what I paid for I know it was gonna be issues when I bought it I had to raise the car up 2 inches on the front and the suspension because my car does have cool overs and they’re $900 or over and they was bought from ECS tuning when they was installed on the car I do not know I don’t have a clue I had to replace the front right axle I replace the two rear boots on the both axles on the rear on one side and on the other one only one of each I don’t have to replace all four boots about that axles I just had to replace the inner ones not the other ones the car has good brakes on it still so I’m not worried about that no I think I had to see the car when I first got it was buy a battery replace the main belt on the front of the motor it’s only has one belt yes and a pain in the butt place to get to it but if you replace it when you’re supposed to you’ll be good to go for a while probably few years or a few months or however yes that’s how you drop the car or if you daily driver I don’t daily drive my car I don’t drive at all right now sometimes yes I will drive it up and down the road and yes I will put miles on it yes the car doesn’t get oil change that’s not my main concern right now I may concern is getting all the engine codes cleared and once I do that I will start doing everything else I replaced all through raiders on the car best thing to do go to eBay type in the year model of the car and look up Racing radiators for the Audi they are pure aluminum the less a lot longer and you Why do the 4 bangers sound more aggressive than the VR6

Got my b7 S4 off an older guy, looked after it. Had all its stamps! It had a misfire that he was told was the chain. About 5k to replace it. I bought it for 7k. Thought I'll work up to the chain- changed the plugs, wasn't them. Changed the ignition coils- boom. Stopped misfire. Had a strange, metallic rattle. . . Found it to be a heat plate by one of the mufflers, pretty corroded, drilled a new hole and bolted it through there. Haven't had an issue since. Amazing engine. Beautiful sound The ONLY unreliable thing in the car is the fuel tank. It keeps going empty.
