    Drakes father reminds me of my father. When I was in middle school I wanted to be a model and actress. My aunt got me an agent we started the process. My father was adamant that I not be left alone for a second. In general he was very protective of us. This man, divorced from my mother who was constantly trying to distance us as much as she could from him, tried to do as much good as he could for us with the little time we had together weekly. He would stand outside of restrooms and wait for us wherever we went, make us wear all matching t-shirts at events, and bought us firefly cellphones to make sure we could always contact him. He was there for us physically and emotionally, taking our phone calls in the middle of his long day of immigrant work hours to sing us to sleep. When I watched The Sound Of Freedom I knew that I could have never ended up abused under my father's watch because he never left us for a second. I was so overcome with emotion and thanks to my father that I called him to tell him how lucky I know I am to have had him protect me. Last night after seeing Drakes father break down in tears I called my father again. So so blessed. I thank God everyday. Father presence is SO important.

    People always talk about “mother’s intuition” but no one believes men’s intuition even exists. No one knows men better than men so when we say someone is sketchy, fucking listen. That’s why we’ll see a girls new bf and pick up that he’s bad news but no, we’re just “crazy” or “overreacting”

      My dad literally has the best intuition ever. He was true about everyone in my life. Could see what will come even when I did not believe him. What hurt me the most was that the Dad specifically asked the mom to not leave him around that pervert alone. Yet, she let him go to his house and have sleep overs. It’s absurd to think he even got a second chance after those terrible things he did. Broke my heart when he talked about how everyone was supporting the abuser and in the letter they blamed him for “tempting” him!!!! Absolutely freaking disgusting the things these children had to experience.

      Part of the de-masculinization and demonizing of men from cultural Marxism in America. Like third wave feminism which is just blatant misandry. Strong, masculine men protect what's important to them. Weak, toxically un-masculine men not only fail to protect anything, but are much more likely to hurt others instead. Creating a self perpetuating "blame men" for the actions of the ones that fell victim to the feminizing propaganda. The one sided family and divorce courts. The schools that punish any masculinity in men. The society that shows most fathers in TV and movies as worthless deadbeats or complete morons. It's disgusting. It breeds this wicked environment. Wickedness that seeps in when God is absent. We follow eerily similar footsteps to Israel as they fell away from God in Biblical times. Down to the same molten images; metal statues that represent sin and the worship of spirits, aka demons.
      This particular event would likely be closest linked to 2 particular spirits: Ba'al who pulls away from God with promises of riches, wealth, preying on greed. And Ashtaroth, who destroys the sanctity of marriage, sex, gender, and is responsible for nearly all immorality linked to them, preying on lust and the empty void inside all of us where only God can healthily reside and furthering the disconnect after Ba'al's arrival. Followed after by Molech.
      Feel free to ignore me if you think I'm coo coo for coco puffs :D

Letting a stranger be with their kid? 🤦 I mean at least have an aunt or uncle at the very least watch over her kid, but no. She allowed her son to go on tour, go to disneyland, and have multiple sleepovers? I mean just there it's already weird. I remember hearing a story years ago about how a karate instructor kidnapped one of his pupils. They found them and the boy admitted to investigators and his parents that the instructor had been sexually abusing him for years. Well, the father had enough and waited for the instructor to be brought back. When they passed the father, he (the father) took out a pistol and killed the instructor.
    There was an uproar about the father getting charged. He got a few years in prison, the defense attorney saying that it was a crime of passion.

    The adult jokes in kids shows extends well beyond Dan Schneider's shows. Even the cartoons like Ren & Stimpy, Rugrats, Rocko's Modern Life, etc were littered with adult jokes that flew over the head of kids. This wasn't even a Nickelodeon exclusive thing as Cartoon Network shows like Johnny Bravo, Dexter's Laboratory, Powerpuff Girls, etc had adult jokes littered throughout the show. So while Dan is/was a creep, this was unfortunately just how kids shows were written back in the day. So I can't place all the blame of the adult jokes on Schneider as that's what the industry was doing at the time.

      I remember some of those shows and a few of them were not meant for young kids. Ren and Stimpy, Johnny Bravo and Powerpuff Girls were supposed to be for the preteen/teen market. As a 34 year old woman, Nickelodeon was and will forever be my childhood. We (as in lots of fans of Nickelodeon) knew of some rumors and how Dan was a creep. To have these things validated and THEN on top of it, confirmed really hurts. We all know what Hollywood is like. It's just heartbreaking to watch and hear these stories. When I watch certain shows now, I see the innuendos, the adult jokes. It's shocking that Dan was allowed to say and put these things in. Dan is a creep. Brian is a p3d0. Things have to change. We need to protect children. I like the Ned's cast. I like their podcast. The jokes were inappropriate and not funny. Devon apologized. And I'm happy he did. Just because these things didn't happen on their set and had their parents there, they should be some sympathetic. I think they used humor because of the uncomfortable nature of everything so I am willing to give them grace. But this entire documentary situation is so sad and my heart breaks for these children

    Child predators actively seek to separate children from their parents, guardians, and other protectors. They create facádes (sorry about spelling) of trustworthiness and do what they can to get close to the children. Then, they pounce and manipulate the child into doing whatever they want them to do.

    Something I really didn't like about the docuseries was how they wedged in stories like "Dan kinda sorta looked at me weird so I think he cut me from the show because of racism" and "he passed me up for a promotion in favor of a man, such horrible misogyny" right alongside stories of actual child grooming, SA, exploitation, etc.

    • @kanrafingerguns
      @kanrafingerguns 2 місяці тому +9

      Sure, getting passed up by a male writer isn't necessarily misogyny-but this documentary had some pretty crucial additional context.
      He illegally paid the two female writers half a salary, made sexist jokes disrespecting a woman's ability to write, and sexually harassed them *repeatedly*-then fired one, threatened the other, and finally got the other to quit after singling her out from the male writers and humiliating her.
      They were replaced (not refused promotions-replaced) with *inexperienced* male writers who got a *full* salary.
      And the racism claims also had context. It wasn't "he looked at me weird." It was "I was ignored, had someone make a racist comment, and my first role was 'drug dealer.'"
      It all fits right in with a very important part of the documentary which was the horrible work environment Dan created and what a creep he was toward women.
      I get that there are a lot of people who cry wolf, but these were people relaying some very real discrimination-*especially* the women.
      A man who respects women does not force them to pretend to be sodomized. That's sickening and traumatic, and it absolutely deserved to be addressed.

    • @racheljames7
      @racheljames7 2 місяці тому +12

      I agree. The focus on Dan was completely disproportionate compared to the focus on the literal child molesters. I understand what the other commenter is saying about providing context for the environment, but thr amount of time and focus on it isn't necessary. Grown ass women being treated unfairly pales in comparison to little boys getting molested. The main bad guys in the scenario were homosexual men who were abusing little boys and women (aka the mothers who threw their children to the wolves) so the film makers went "oh but the straight white guy was giving women weird looks. Let's talk about that for a bit longer to balance it out."

      I totally agree with you, and also, how he still has the spotlight, when there was nothing that one couldn't find in a 4chan post 15 years ago about the guy, and the other SA criminals are already forgotten...

    Dan was a freak, all of the child feet stuff, like iCarly and the episode where they cover their feet in ketchup, his idea, the episode where Ariana Grande shoves her toes in her mouth, also Dan, Dan is weird, and honestly I believe he is a child abuser, regardless of what's confirmed.
