I feel like if Ghost Train is successful, which it probably will be, it will prove to Merlin that dark rides can be profitable and more effort will be put into non rollercoasters and theming. This is actually incredibly exciting

As the ride is now open for technical rehearsals, no confidentiality forms had to be signed. In the pre-show, Derren Brown advised that it's best to keep the ride a secret, however this does not have to be followed. In the description and at various parts of this vlog we do warn viewers of spoilers from the attraction!
I love new rides at parks. Keeps the lines shorter for the classics like stealth and inferno! Lol

Why did 136 people dislike this, having just been on it, it's really nice to be able to hear someone else's opinons and hear about what they picked up on. (I am a theme park fan and a Derren Brown fan, just before I got on the second vr part of the train I noticed that there was a "Trick or Treat" easter egg/poster on the wall, did you? Not many people did...)

Finally managed to get on this ride yesterday and WOW! I'm a big fan of Derren and I was very impressed. Me and my friends all saw something different and really enjoyed discussing what we saw. Very cleverly done.

SHAWN!!! I rode it the day after you rode it and before this video was out! They made improvements over the space of one day then :D there was a another scene in the first bit and it is the best bit!!! cannot wait to ride it again and this video was great!!!

Great video! This looks very interesting!
You were pretty much spot on about how the train works. You can see black brushes covering the gaps between the Victorian shell and Underground train. I thought there was only one train going back and forth with good timing, but it was hard to tell so you could be right.
(I waited until I rode it before watching this which is why this comment is so late. Also I thought it was a great ride for Thorpe :P)
I love so much about this ride. I love the illusion of the train turning from a victorian carriage to a london underground (even though most people don't notice), I love the live action section, the theming is great and the shop at the end is one of the best things I have experienced at a park. I still think the VR needs to be improved though.
I rode this for the first time today and I was very impressed and very surprised,Merlin done a brilliant job
Going next week any tips? Me, my brother and dad wear glasses and cant see much without (all long sighted)

I've listened to the soundtrack to Derren Brown's Ghost Train, the best part is near the begining of the music, really intense. I've also watched a bit of his tv show 'Trick of the Mind'. He's really good with people.

The story changes between 3 storylines so you might not get the same as these two.
Edit: I recently went on the ride and found it rather disappointing. Full of cheap jumpscares with no real build up of tension.
Might have to ride this with glasses clipped to my tshirt so i can see in between segments as my sight is really bad without them
Literally two days after I went to Thorpe Park...at least we got on everything else!

A few questions if I can!
1) What did you think of the actual VR? Is the picture any good? I've only used VR once at Comic Con and the picture was very blurry and kinda hard to see.
2) When you exit the first train is the whole area themed like the underground? Just curious plus maybe your theory is correct but instead there is only one train that moves around to the second point.
3) I know it's only a soft opening but did the queue move well it was it slow?
4) What the heck is up with that creepy infection zone?
The VR needs work but it's much better than the VR used on Galactica! The whole area is themed very well, and the queue moved fast!
Will be riding this after my holiday to Lanzarote with my family
Do you think the new maze for thorpe platform 15 will be to do with derrens, and moved to where blair witch is. i am going to fright night this year and any advice on when to go or what order to do the mazes will be happily taken by anyone and do you have to pay seperatly for the mazes
i dont think you do have to pay seperately like they do at alton towers i think they are included in the fright nights tickets

Went on this today! opened at 12.. queued up since 11! waited a total of 2 hours! soooo worth it! I had the old lady! The queue when we came off was 180 minutes!! but it is school trip week! Thanks for your videos and vlogs.. they keep me very entertained.... This is now my favourite non-roller coaster attraction in the uk!

My eyeballs popped out of my sockets when I heard that levitating train cost £50.
oh wow that suprised me when u said people had different people standing infront of them. I also had an old man but didnt know that there were other possibilities.
I love this ride but me and my friends literally had to wait 2 hours in the Que but then i say it was worth the wait cuz i loved it ♥
I go thorpe park every weekend so happy to see this open finally!

I've got a signed photo of Derren Brown. I emailed him when he first came on to the telly years ago, so he was good enough to send me a signed photo. The ride looks well done. I wouldn't mind one of his souvenir ghost trains. I would pick up the better one if I had the chance.

Hey, Theme park Worldwide, Please can you answer me this: Do you HAVE to be 13+ to go on this ride? Or is that just the recommended age? Me and my cousin are going there soon and she is 10, Do they ask for ID? One of the boys I saw definitely didn't look 13.

It was difficult but manageable
i live in another country but if i visit it one day i would definitely go on this ride and experience by myself

Any time I hear the word fracking, how come it sounds like a swear word. You fracker! Lol
I don't think the inside of the train is on the track as you can see around the Victorian carriage. I'm very confused and amazed at how they have done this ride and despite queuing 4+ hours for it, this has to be one of my favourites at that park.
Harmony771 there are mirrors all around the train so it does all of the movement behind them
I think your Vlog got sabotaged a few times.
Finally did the Ghost Train recently. Thought it was a very good ride and one of Merlin's best things they've done. I still think there's room for improvement but still one of my favourite rides at the park.

I'm glad this video contains spoilers and everything I wanna hear as much as I can about it as unfortunately I do suffer from both anxiety and panic attacks so I wouldn't be able to ride :(

I know this comment is 4 years old, but do you still suffer with this? I've had it for a year now. My friend wants me to go to Thorpe park, but I don't think I'll be able to go on much because of my anxiety.
