- No it's not a new ride or rollercoaster this time... Ghost Train has reopened as a completely different experience at Thorpe Park! The ride used to be known as Derren Browns Ghost Train and featured Virtual Reality, live action sets and multiple scares - this is practically the same without that VR, however.. the rest has changed significantly! Join me as i take an in-depth journey into the Ghost Train and give my honest thoughts... it's interesting to say the least!

coming back to this a few months later, I'm glad to say the fake shop has been improved and instead of a Thorpe Park staff member coming out all the photos on the wall start glitching and the guy from the preshow is like "THIS ISN'T PHOTO REDEMPTION, IT'S SOUL REDEMPTION" and then a cloaked figure comes out (kinda looks like the 13 wraiths)

This is my favourite themepark video ever. Love the deliberately poor quality photoshopping, had me in stitches. The UV paint writing in the tube carriage as well… very funny.

Perfect timing because I just came off ghost train lmao, ride broke down halfway through and there actors just had to tell the story about the believers, after they run out of things to say they just stood there creepily staring.. was a laugh tbf cuz nobody knew if it was part of the ride..

When i went on it got into somewhat of a staring contest with a scare actor and half the train started laughing at us
I think that it is more funny than scary definitely should be recorded for any age not just 13+
But the que time is so long due to only having 750 riders per hour

sounds like they have a good basis of a ride, and with little improvements like maybe adding screens instead of windows and a costume for the last scare, it will be a 8-9/10 ride

Totally accurate. Although I thought the second train was trash. It didn't build to anything. Just nuns running up and down the train...
The thing overhead didn't work on our run through but you could see what should have happened...
The best part for me was the crypt things in the shop shaking and screaming when you thought it was all over. Glad to have done it to never waste time queueing for it again.
Tear it out and put in a proper classic Ghost Train.

I get the ending was the best on the original but here it makes no sense with the actual train theme. The ‘shop’ looks exactly the same with barely any changes to the theme and the whole scare isn’t even scary anymore. I think they should completely remove that scene and turn it into a mini maze like sun terra. Would be 10x scarier

I've been told some people didn't get it and I'm guessing you didn't either.
My batching group had about a 4-5 minute secondary pre-show after the hologram room where the actor used to give you numbers. But instead of an actor it was literally just watching a tv screen, and tbh it didn't really do much for the story, was just a time filler.

Seems like a pretty decent generic swap, but the final shop fail is really disappointing to hear about. They can definitely be more creative with costumes, lights, effects, even a static figure or two with strobe. Idk but either scrap that whole bit or do something interesting with it.
