Thanks for watching this video! Before you comment, I am aware of the grammatical error of saying 'demoned' instead of just 'demon'. Apologies for this error! 🙏
I went yesterday. Underwhelming overall. VR was cool but just not scary at all and just funny at times. I liked looking around in the VR mode and seeing an empty train and feeling alone. The intermediate section with the zombie actors out on the platform was pretty fun. Some kid, must have been about 5 or 6, was crying her eyes out. The jump scare in the gift shop was very good because all the little kids got drawn to the Ouija board moving and the demon absolutely had them shook lol.
I have never been on this ride I visited thort park today and did not want to go on it as I had no idea what it was and only saw that live actors will be out
i think the fact that some headsets show something slightly different makes it more interesting. you'd never know if you got a different one unless you rode it before or spoke in detail to your friends/family
I absolutely love derren browns work and I finally got to experience this ride two days ago. I wasn't disappointed, from the que line I could see and feel every aspect that derren brown wanted us to experience. Pov from ASD/ADHD... I did have my eyes closed for most of the vr but never peeped outside the headgear, thankfully there was only one scare actor during my experience and whilst using the vr I kept saying quietly not to touch me so I had the most confidence I wasn't going to be touched (major trigger for me but I'm so happy with how supportive the Thorpe park team are with autistic and other disabled customers) 100% doing it again but eyes open the whole time! If you don't want scare actors go early.
I went on it last year I think all my other visits that I did this year so it's just always closed I'm hoping that it will be open when I come to Thorpe park on the 31st of October there was about 4-6 actor's I'm not sure but there was a few I didn't get touched in the train and also when I got off the train it was on the same platform and I could see the door I came through.
The first time I got on my headset actually didn't work, so I only stared at a few words for some minutes and confused in half of the ride. I did go back on it at another time, it's really great! I actually thought the train illusion was simply having a different cover on the outside. Now I am more than impressed to see how much effort they put into this.
Thank you for this! I know part of the fun is that you don't know what to expect, but knowing vaguely what's going to happen helps with my anxiety of the ride. And especially thank you for the bit about the gift shop at the end, no one has mentioned it and it would have set my anxiety off again and sent me spiralling from being so prepared to suddenly very overwhelmed. I can't wait to try this ride when I go back!
Can confirm to those that haven't been on it that it's a fantastic ride and the effects and VR really make it great. When the VR works and the actors are in there it is in my opinion the best dark ride in the UK.
I enjoyed the ride however I did it before the refurb so I would like to experience it again when it reopens after COVID to see how it is....having said that this video makes me appreciate the ride a lot more for all the little components etc that all add together to create an amazing experience. Great video!

Definitely enjoyed the video and really appreciate all the thorough information covered in it!! Still a terrible ride, the staff doesn’t touch your legs and the train hardly moves even though the people in the VR are moving so it looks a bit pathetic really, I went last week.
The ride is great, except for when it breaks down, which happened twice when we tried to ride it on one of the trips to Thorpe Park. Even one of the workers said to us that it breaks on a daily basis. I am not complaining, since when it did work the last time, it was scary. if they get it to work more reliably then it will be absolutely amazing, but that is difficult because of how complex the ride is. we were just unlucky that it broke down on us both times!
The suspended rail car is a spectacular moment, and it’s all downhill from there. It’s a shame they wasted such a sensational illusion on an underwhelming experience. That scene deserves to be part of an attraction that cemented itself as an absolute must ride for decades to come. So sad they are tearing it out.

This ride blew my head apart on how great it was. I stayed on site for 3 nights an had 2 days on the park, day 1 i entered the fake gift shop but day 2 i never.
So as a spolier for the people who still watch this- when i rode this ride (today actually) me and my family all had different people for example i had a fair old woman doing the beginning speach my step-dad had an old scraggly women and my mum had this old man. And when sat on the train we all have different people sat around us
I've always thought there should be a ghost rollercoaster. It starts off seeming like a normal cheesy ghost train then BOOM, vertical drop. I'd have loads of fakeouts too, with a fake car seeming to turn the corner at the end of a section just as you enter. Then the actual ride cars suddenly lurch in a different direction, full of satan, spiders and fire.
If you enjoy this type of experience and visit Barcelona (in Catalonia north eastern Spain) you would probably also love 'Hotel Krüeger' at Parc d'atraccions Tibidabo!
The ride is cool, in concept and the first load of vr and the environment is scary - BUT the finale is laughable and I’m easily scared. The gift shop part is a nice touch though
@@Cara-hm2tl The people dancing you see in the mansion are under your track and are real sculptures moving, they are very well lighted so you get kind of the same result as in the peppers ghost effec.

The train is moving on a single straight line/track forwards to the second station and back to the victorian shell again, there's no lateral movements/switching/swale tracks or moving platforms at all.
The ride system is really beautiful and simple in the same time , is hard to operate and the host they need to be in perfect time with the operator before dispatch the train....

Waited around and hour and a half and was a complete waste of time. Would have thought it would be fully operating because it was fright nights as well
I went yesterday during fright nights and all the extras like the actors and the jump scares were missing which was a shame for my first time on the ride.
i went shortly after they opened this ride and although it was pretty good it broke down around four times while we were in the queue and we had to wait around 3 and a half hours for a ride that was mediocre at best. most of the queue was sitting on the floor near the end as if they’d been camping out all day for a concert 😭
There weren't enough headsets working on the train so me and some other people had to get off and wait in the hanging train room for the next ride while the majority of the group went on the ghost train 4 minutes later (the ride is about 20 minutes) a different group came out of the train while i got on . Does that mean there is 2 trains running at the same time how would that work?
We went last week , vr & sound was playing uo … there was no actors or jump scares , also not fake gift shop at the end we all walked straight through . Was pretty poor for our first experience
I've been very disappointed the 2 or 3 times I've been on it. Shame, I like derren brown 😅 Cool how it's done though, just the vr that let's it down really.
went yesterday, never fucking again. Absolutely terrifying i thought k was gonna loose my mind. The train and VR isn’t bad. Once you get out the train for the first time it’s a no from me the zombies are absolutely disgusting and horrible
I went yesterday and it was the scariest experience I have had. The virtual part was really cool but the actors...... let's say they did a very good job. I kept running because all my thoughts went away and i was pulling my mum too haha
Well it was better than sub terror and the end bit comes as a bit of a supprise but yea iv deffently seen better and the vr just seams a bit of a excuse for lazyness to me. i mean its cool and all but seams a little cheep when all the jumpscares are the staff pinching your legs they surly could have made some better effects than this espeicly considering this came out not long before that amazing star wars ride at disney world. sure the uk really stand no chance against america in terms of tech in dark rides but i really think they could have done a bit better than that
I really appreciate this guide, but I won't ever ride this attraction. This is not my kind of thrill. I feel a number of Thorpe Park's attractions have moved ever closer to the jump scare mechanic vs the coaster thrills that I love so much. Still, I love this how it works to understand what I won't ever get on
The VR was very poorly executed for this ride and the headsets simply not maintained at all. So pleased the revamp has now ditched the VR abd can't wait to go back and experience it this year!
I went yesterday 2nd October 2021. The ghost train was abysmal. The plot was nonsense, the VR was poor quality and the headsets didn't fit your head properly. Ive had more entertaining and more unnerving VR experiences in the comfort of the living room. There were genuinely no scares at all and more importantly there wasn't any ghosts. Why was it even called The Ghost Train? I would recommend that you do not waste your time. Also if anyone is interested, The Walking Dead Ride was awful too, it had an indoor rollercoaster which wasn't very entertaining and there weren't any zombies. Very poor from both attractions.
@@CoasterConnection You forgot the extra "n" in the word pinned, which I presumed you were attempting to spell. Please, to save confusion edit your comment to contain the correct spelling... MUST DASH I'VE JUST SEEN A DEMOND!!!! 😈😈😈😈😈
Recently rode it and had the misfortune of having not one but two faulty headsets, and so missed most of the ride. The staff are all in character so there was little they could do to help, but the quiz they perform at the end where they ask what you saw during the ride was pretty laughable considering I saw jack and shit.. Seems they’re not putting enough money into maintaining the ride, which is a shame. I won’t bother with it again, not queuing half an hour for what could amount to sitting on a crowded train as it rocks back and forth a bit.
Went on it a couple of weeks ago for the first time. Started very well but 2nd half sound went off and didnt know what was happening. Ruined it in the end
Went on this a few months ago, didn’t live up to expectations. The VR headsets that me and my boyfriend had were drenched in sweat from the previous guests. A couple of jumpy parts but nothing special. Definitely won’t go on it again
This ride was the biggest disappointment ever. There was nothing scary or ghostly about it. The assistants don't even help or explain about the headset so you literally just struggle putting it on
Wasn't great. Half the headsets can't be used due to being broken, and the rest don't fit (broken velcro straps etc), which doesn't leave you immersed. At no point did actors interact, so it felt like you were watching a CGI 3D movie on a train. Then you get off the ride, walk down a corridor with strobe lights (they call it a maze. It's not, it's a corridor), you line up against a wall, somebody screams "go through the door", onto the 'second' train, and watch a second movie, this time with no judders or movement of any kind. Then off the train for the finale. The actors hurry you along, that you don't get to appreciate the logistics of the train swap. Maybe I missed something, but disappointed

Still, I love this how it works to understand what I won't ever get on
Who??
Thank you for your advice regarding the Walking Dead ride!
It's good but wouldn't wait more than 60 mins for it
I definitely think it’s underrated! Same, wouldn’t wait more then that for it.
Thanks for watching. 😊
My friend & I went couple years back you are fed rbi g something different a lot of what you said didn’t happen.
There is no “d” at the end of the word demon.
I’ve addressed this in my pined comment. 👍
@@CoasterConnection pinned sorry. Just saying
@@CoasterConnection You forgot the extra "n" in the word pinned, which I presumed you were attempting to spell. Please, to save confusion edit your comment to contain the correct spelling... MUST DASH I'VE JUST SEEN A DEMOND!!!! 😈😈😈😈😈
omg i thought my brother was the one touching my leg and i hit the hand 😭
Recently rode it and had the misfortune of having not one but two faulty headsets, and so missed most of the ride. The staff are all in character so there was little they could do to help, but the quiz they perform at the end where they ask what you saw during the ride was pretty laughable considering I saw jack and shit..
Seems they’re not putting enough money into maintaining the ride, which is a shame. I won’t bother with it again, not queuing half an hour for what could amount to sitting on a crowded train as it rocks back and forth a bit.
Ive only been on it once and that was enough for me, very disappointing and is the last time i ever wait 2hrs in a queue just for a 5 minute Ride :/
It’s alright but the VR should be more scary
I presume a lot of these comments are auto generated.
This ride was the biggest disappointment ever. There was nothing scary or ghostly about it. The assistants don't even help or explain about the headset so you literally just struggle putting it on
Sound like you can have more fun by not putting the VR thing on... Pete
Unfortunately the answer to "how does it work?" is generally that it doesn't 😞
Mugen train ?
i screamed at the dog-
Note to self: the ride Not suitable for people less than 15 years old
I think I was 14 when I went on it!!
Spoiler alert times million
I should say, I'm not fan of attractions like this
Wasn't great.
