I'm walking through a lot of technical aspects of the Analog Rytm here. No musical marvels, he he. But stuff like connecting it to Logic, uploading samples, managing projects, song mode, chain mode, swing, slide, connecting it to the OP-1, playing it from an external keyboard, recording automation in Logic etc.

I find the best way to learn the Elektron boxes is to watch the Cuckoo tutorial, then go play and learn on your own for a month, then come back and watch the tutorial again, and repeat a third time. Each time you return to the tut, things make more sense and are easier to understand. Cuckoo tuts have replay value!

+alienanxiety that's great to hear! The reason why my tutorials are a bit long, is because I want to give people a complete feeling for how things work, so that they can experiment on their own. Glad you find them useful! :)

Sorry for not making any great music in this video. But I thought it was time to go a little technical, and try and nail all these MIDI, external, DAW, uploading samples, managing files etc. Enjoy this MEGA TUTORIAL on the Analog Rytm by Elektron WeAre Elektron.

Hey, Cuckoo! I have almost no musical talent, and I don't understand a lot of musical things, but I have to say, I love watching your videos. Your walkthroughs and new device overviews are my favorites and I've watched em all a few times. Keep it up, man. Always excited to see new videos of yours!

+Nico Caffarella Thanks Nico. The USB Midi converter is for the OP-1. There is only USB midi for the OP-1, so to make it standard midi you need a converter. There's no micro USB to USB B port available. It's against the standards. Only micro USB to USB A port. So that's why I was using the Kenton USB Midi hub.

For fellow Windows users, I found that setting a delay parameter to a nominal value of 10 ms in the config menu for C6 was required to get stable sample send/receive. This is covered in the C6 manual, which recommends a range of 5-50 ms for "XP". I am using Windows 7 Pro and 10 ms is fine. It took me a bit to realize that I might need to use a non-zero delay.

One comment I thought was worth noting about loading samples: You have to select "SDS Handshake" and "Use Extended SDS" in the configuration of the C6 software before sending your samples. Otherwise, the sample gets renamed in the RYTM.

Hi Cuckoo! Amazing tutorials you have. Thank you very much for taking the time to do them!!
I have an issue with my recently bought Elektron that I hope you can help solving:
For some reason when I make parameter changes to a sound/track i.e change the amp volume on the OH track, this changes also happen and affect the same parameter on track 1 or BD1. This happens with all the tracks and only duplicate to track1. But making changes to track 1 does not affect the parameters on the other tracks. Any ideas? Thanks!

Thanks Lee. Yes, FX section is sort of disconnected from the rest. I think the most difficult part is the compressor. Usually a compressor VST plug-in is visual, but on the Analog Rytm is just numbers so you need to understand a whole lot, and listen carefully. I will take it into account when making new stuff.

hello! - thanks for this - great stuff. 1 question - if I already loaded 127 samples in my project - how can I delete some of them without creating a new project? thanks

Thanks Cuckoo for this. I have just picked up a RTYM and coming from an Analog 4 I am surprised how totally opposite the OS for this. I mean why cant you just import samples the same way you do as the A4?

I watched the digi ones and am gonna watch the analog ones. Ever tried to do a double trinity? Analog rytm, four, octatrack, digitone, digitakt, and analog heat? Would that even be a workable workflow?
