I loved the natural sounds of the wind and the waves and the boat. Hearing what you hear really adds a layer of realism.
Wow Sailor 🥳🥳👍
Love Her Laugh as she Opens the Gift! So Real. Ty
👍 A 29 minute video for a 29 day crossing ... there’s something very orderly and poetic about that.
Well done, Oskar and Lisa! And, Lisa ... those cookies looked amazing ... and I bet they’re delicious.
We do come from Sweden, and in Sweden we like good order. 😀
Thank you very much! Hallongrottor is always good ☺️
My daydreams of retired cruising life are filled not with destinations, but with crossings. Thanks for posting the video. Helps me get through the daily grind.
We are glad you enjoyed it. We like the destinations most right now, but maybe in the future we will look back and miss the crossings too. :)
Nice to see you speaking in your own language. The pacific is reaaaaally big!
The dolphins feel your good energy!!! You are a beautiful couple!!!

Your crossing seemed mostly enjoyable, always a pleasure to watch you two👍
Lots of nice dolphins and whales to keep you company along the way.
The birds that want to make your boat their home, and mess it all up are discouraging 😔
Look forward to seeing you next time 😊
We enjoyed it (most of the time) 😉. Thank you very much!
Yes, the animals are amazing. Even the birds, except when they make the mess. 😊

Very beautiful 😍👍
It looked like you had an easy passage!!! No huge storms or big calms. Can't ask for much more than that!
We had a few squalls but nothing bad, so we're glad about that. :)
Love you two! Great video.
Thank you so much! ☺️
Great video showing a real ocean passage! Subscribed.

Crazy how you in the middle of the Pacific flying over the water. And not a hint of stress
Stress? Why? If your not sea sick, its very relaxing.
stress belong to land people that is why people hoping go out to the ocean. if boat not going to sink, no stress
Amazing filming. Have a great journey
Thank you very much!!
Segla lugnt !!

Hi Lisa and Oscar am loving your journey but did I miss you explaining about yourselves and how you come to be sailing this amazingly boat around the world? Would love to hear.
Hello! We are so glad to hear that. Well, we thought that mostly our friends and family would watch this so we didn't think that was necessary before. 😊 But we've reconsidered that now.. 😊 We flew home for a wedding this august and in that episode we are going to tell you about this stuff and also showing a bit of our home. It's probably going to be in ep 30 (We are a little bit late with the movie production..). ☺️
Fantastic “Pacific Crossing”
Ha det så bra! Kram Oskar och Lisa
God morgon, besättning Hilma Sailing. Jag önskar, allt bäst, för dig.
Your sail angle from Ecuador is the main reason for a rolling crossing. Kinda low as opposed leaving further north. Time is about right, took me 33 days on a Beneteau 393
Okay, that's good. We've talked to sailers who went north of Galapagos too and they had less wind and it took them longer to cross so maybe you have to chose by the rolling or the time then. ☺️
Well, I left from a much higher angle, the U.S. and the winds were good, cross swell low and between 5n and 5s was very squally. As in 3 to 7 squalls a day. A major pain in the butt. Plus I was heading to Huahine so a different course all together. Enjoyed your video and your time at sea. I'll have to watch some of your past videos. By the way, I am a delivery captain so, unlike you guys, I don't take the time to smell the roses so much, well maybe a little!!
I noticed your starboard forward lower shroud looked quite loose
Yep! The leeward shrouds look a little too slack, suggesting the rig is not properly tuned.
Yes, we noticed that too and have to fix that! :)
Congratulations !!! I know it was a while ago, but well done !
29 days is a long voyage. Were there times when you just wished it was over ?
Hope you have been enjoying your time in the Pacific :)
Kind regards, John. New Zealand.
Thank you very much!
Yes, 29 days is long.. We almost went to Ecuador after the "fishing-nets-incident" but we are glad we didn't. During the passage we complained some times, but we didn't show that infront of the camera ;) You can't tell from the video but it was rolling, so much! That was really enjoying and we didn't want to do much more that to sitt still because of that. But, when we came to the Marquesas (specially Fatu Hiva) it was so worth it! :)
The Pacific is amazing and the people are so friendly almost everywhere. We hope everything is fine with you!
Kind regards, Oskar and Lisa at Samoa
HOLA OSCAR . HOLA LISA . MUY BUEN VIDEO . BUENA MAR Y VIENTO EN POPA . SALUDOS . SU AMIGO MANUEL PEÑUÑURI .
....DIOS LOS BENDIGA .
Hola Manuel! Muchas gracias!! 🙂
Saludos Oskar y Lisa en Samoa
29 days, how do you do it! I'm following some others sailers and always wonder if you see any UFO's and thinking surely you do. You're the first to even mention them. I'm sure those lights were space visitors and not Chinese boats. Stay safe always!
Haha, it actually gets easier and easier each day. If we sail for 3 days it's a bit boring but after 5-7 days you find it relaxing... Well, this is if the weather is ok, otherwise it can be a bit frustrating. 😜
Haha, when you've been out there for a couple of weeks, everything is dark and you see so many lights it's easy to fantasize a bit ;) We will 😊
Whoa! It seems like you left Sweden only a couple months ago, but now you are crossing the Pacific!? Oh yes, it has been a year since you left Sweden. Looking back, I see that your first video was uploaded on 14 Aug 2017. Where does the time go? Anyway, it has been fun following you. Your Pacific crossing looked like fun too. Best wishes.
Time flies! It's almost scary how fast the first year passed by. We are glad that you want to follow us, thank you! :)
Yes, the crossing went fine but of course we were really glad when we saw the Marquesas and Hiva Oa after almost a month. :) Best wishes!
Looks like very good heading and reach for the speed of boat...could you show chart info once in a while to know from and to where you are heading..month u made this crossing..?
We will try to remember to film and show that more. ☺️ We did the crossing May-June.
Great video, hope to be doing the same next year
Thank you! We do that too. Good luck! ☺️
what is a "radio documentary" ?....well, I can guess what it is, but where do you download them from ?
There are some podcast apps and, for example, this time we listened to a documentary at Swedish radio. We downloaded them in the app earlier so that we could listen to them offline, it's perfect. 😊👍🏻
Love
MOVIE TIME ;-')
Yes! We have a lot of movies on the computer so that was good. :)
Cute woman!!!!
☺️
found it by accident on yt and really like it in near future will be doing same steps as you guys ,have dream a bit of money and passion but need turn this into reality in future before i turn 40 ,what boat you guys have ? are you were sailing directly from sweden or you both living abroad
Hi, we think you should do it! :) It's a Jeanneau Sun Odysse 45 and it works fine. We left Sweden in august 2017 so we have been sailing for more than a year and now we're in Samoa. It's a perfect way to travel :)
thanks for answer, why sun oddysey 45 did you consider other boats in this price range ? is it me or you had many trouble with boat during sailing ? are you happy with this boat , they saying there is no perfect boat, are they are advantages and disadvantages with sun oddysey 45 ,at some point i need to make choice too and i like sun oddysey 45 it is nice yacht but better to know from the owner how the boat sailing
can u see something as large as a whale on your instruments? are they attracted to a boat like dolphins. I hope the question is not a silly one. I do love your videos
It is not silly.. 😊
We have to say no.. But... 😀 If it were completely flat water and if a whale were laying still, with some parts of it over the surface, then you might see it on the radar. Otherwise we just can "see" it on the sonar if it swims just below us. We usually have something under us and the depth quickly change and shows 2.5 meters (for instance).. It's probably just some small fish but you never know, it can be a whale too! 😊 Thank you, we are glad you like them!
They come check the boats out every now and then, especially the orcas. The actual whales do too, but not as often.
"Watching a movie". Ya sure!
Hmm, yes.
what is going on with your wind generator? I didn't see it turning on the whole video.
We use the hydro generator and the solar panels and that gives us more electricity than we need (when we sail). And to be honest, the wind generator doesn't work very well.
hi, what is the nav program you are using on the computer screen?
Open CPN :)
👍
😊
How is the marine life in the Pacific?
Amazing! We have seen a lot of sharks and whales. Of course a lot dolphins and all kinds of fishes too! It's really beautiful.
Be quick to look before the Chinese pillage it as they do!!
☺️ /Lisa
When a woman ask if you can see The Hobbit or The lord of the rings you as a man is not allowed to say no!
Haha, that's what I thought! 😀 /Lisa
very nice 💞 😍🔥👙👍
Thank you! 😊
You should speak your own language all the time in your videos
It looks like Sailing is a lot of boring time. I think i'd have trouble reading books while rocking across the Ocean.
Well, sailing can be boring sometimes... :) But when you come to the amazing places afterwords, it's really worth every hour at sea. :)
@@HilmaSailing Not to mention you don't pay for the wind. Freedom!
Rich kids on big, all comfort included, sailing vessel, crossing the Pacific. Let's watch Lord of the Rings.
I dont even have a tv. are you happy now ?
First of all. We are 30 and 37 years so thank you for "kids". 😀 We worked really hard and saved all our money to be able to do this. We bought the boat in bad shape and worked with it every day (after work) for two yers before we left Sweden. We worked full-time until a few days before we sailed away, sold everything we got and now all we have is the boat and a budget for 3 years sailing. After that we will start from the beginning again. We hope this gives a bit perspective of our lives and also, we watch films on a computer.. 😌
Jerk
Western Cultures do have more opportunities to do this simply by virtue of Socio Economic structures. It still requires drive, skills and a will to do. Compliments to both of you in risking ALL. In Reality, regardless of whether you're financially advantaged or NOT, a venture of a lifetime is merely getting of your butt and taking a step. WELL DONE. Your vids are inspiring, entertaining and informative..... Thanks
@@HilmaSailing You do not have to justify yourself to these type of idiot... You are just wasting your time on them and this is what they want... They want attention... Your video was great. Good work.
