A lot of FAD:s! If we hit one, we would sink. - Ep. 55 Hilma Sailing

- In this episode we sail to Philippines in Southeast Asia. Our last sail in the Pacific turned out to be wonderful, with a very calm ocean and a lot of fishes, but… we also saw a lot of FAD:s, Fish Aggregating Devices. A sailors nightmare. We decided to drift one night, since we were afraid of hitting one of them.
We hope you’ll enjoy it!

Välkommen hem till västkusten. Kul att se och hoppas det inte dröjer allt för länge till nästa avsnitt!
Gôtt att se er igen, bra jobbat!!!
Amazing footage from under the boat! Nice work Lisa!
Very nice Philippine video
Adventurous, good sail, nice views, relaxing. Sad news, having to avoid those large fishing buoys.
Hahahaa... welcome to the Philippines your home away from home. We have a lot of foods to offer like Lechon, sinigang, menudo, salad, sinugbang isda...ohhh so delicious hahahaha
Nice to see u visit our country Philippine islands.
Very good footage of the sea and underwater. Thanks!
wow, this is beautiful
Wow, thanks for sharing and great camera work!
Did you see any other sailboats or find marinas that have sailboats?
I enjoyed watching your journey here in the ph, too bad you didn't stay longer in Boracay.. you should have stayed in Carabao island (WaterBuffalo/Bull) in Romblon instead, It's just 30 mins to an hour away from Boracay. There's no rules there. The quality of sand and water there is almost the same as in Boracay, plus there are no tourists on that island.
Such a nice trip, very relaxing.
Dinagat is indeed a beautiful hidden island. Siargao is also around the corner
Great idea to drift during the night. We don`t have a radar on our boat and wondered how to avoid a collision...
@ 0:08 I've only just noticed that Lisa is standing on the top spreader in your introduction piece. Cool! :-)
I do!! :)
I know the videos are a bit back in time. I'm really hoping that you stop or stopped in Palawan. An amazing place!
We did! :)
Yahoo, another video, thanks
Very beautiful
Nice
Make sure you go surfing at Cloud 9! It’s around the corner
Those FADs are scary, I'm surprised that's legal. Do you suppose you lost your rudder earlier from something like that? I like the fish cam concept. Maybe you need another bamboo pole for that.
They are! Terrible! :) We did not hit anything when we lost the rudder though. If you want to now why we lost the rudder we show and explain it in ep. 46. :)
FADs definitely can be scary but it’s the locals waters and they know were they’re located
You better coverse with the local, halohalo is a refreshing filipino desert
Good vid guys.
Suggestion, put Philippines in your title to gain more view...
Hey guys, I’m just wondering about your timeline? How along did you make this passage? Also, I’ve noticed some cruisers are doing live Q & A’s on UA-cam. It looks like they are generating good income. 👍👍✌️✌️ Good luck!
Clay Farnet They allready back home
Thats true. We came home the 5:th of September, but we have A LOT more videos to make.😊 We did the whole circumnavigation in two years in total and then one year around the north Atlantic too and that's the main reason why we haven't had time to make them faster. It seems like a long time, but time flies and we were constant on the move. ☺️ We were thinking about having a Q & A on our Patreon-page first. 😊
How do y'all not get sick of each other? I love my wife but I'd probably have thrown her off the metaphorical boat several times
Haha, we guess we are lucky! 😄
Dude I'm in love with your girl! Does she have a sailing sister? Y'all stay safe!!
She’s a woman, not a girl. And she’s his wife. how about some respect!
Never forget she is in love with Oskar, one of the nicest man on earh and also one of the luckiest !
Haha, no worries Frank D and Famille Aipar. :) I/Lisa make the videos and read the comments. I do have sisters but they are happily married! :)
@@HilmaSailing , I'm glad you took that as the compliment it was meant to be! Y'all stay safe and maybe our paths will cross along the way. I'm trying to rush an electric drive into my Irwin 45 before winter hits here in the Chesapeake.
