glad you thinks so, thanks for the feedback

Kev
I was born in 1956 . I wish I could start up that easily in the morning!
hi TMAV8R
Yes me too, must be a vintage year that, and the bikes in better nick than me at moment 😉🤣👍 Oh the joys of getting advanced in age.
thanks for feedback.
cheers
Kev
Your BSA still in great condition Kev, it has great character and it started very easily too, they certainly don't build Bikes like that anymore. I used to have a 500 XLS Honda single for 24 years and often battled to kick start it when it was very warm. Cheers Paul
Hi Paul
Thanks, end of an era, end of characters, there's some nice modern bikes out there, but the old ones just have the character, same with cars, locos, planes etc etc
Thanks for feedback
take care
Kev
Very cool bike, and so nicely kept stock and rideable. I remember when we considered theat displacement as a "big" bike engine. Enjoyed, cheers!
thanks h1951,
nice to keep things original, thanks for feedback
my other bikes will follow soon
cheers
Kev
Fantastic that was a real treat, after asking sometime ago to see the bikes this was well worth waiting for Thank you 😁😁
cheers steve. yes you and others have asked, sorry for the wait, watch this space for starting all the others up one by one.
take care
Kev
Beautiful bike Kev 👍👍👍👍 So many memories. My Dad had a BSA Gold Star in the early 1960s. My first bike was a Tiger Cub and my second a Bonneville, great machines as long as you didn't have to go round a corner at any speed! Cheers, Alan.
Thanks 👍 Alan, glad it brought back your memories, mine fits me like a glove even round corners, it's my creaking bones that dont like going round corners now.🤣🤣👍
cheers
Kev
Nice one Mr F. A cracking bike, it looks great. Mind you I'm surprised the crankcase wasn't full of oil after all those years.
hi doug,
yes my friend is always jealous as his wet sumps for england, its never had a problem in this area,
thanks for feedback
cheers
Kev
Hi Kev, great to see it start after 10 years and it must have been exciting travelling through all those countries.
Yes it was! Kevin.
a great experience, thanks for feedback
cheers
Kev

thanks for the feedback, appreciated
cheers
Kev
Great stuff Kev, what a nice bike... I can't imagine my old Daimler will start that easy...
hi Paul
hope your keeping well, thanks for the feedback, and lets see that old Daimler fire up!! 😉😉👍👍 going through all my other bikes next to give them a treat, not been riding them due to physical problems, i think the BSA same year as me is in better nick than my creaking bones, so watch this space for the others there all on a button start so not as physically demanding, thats if they start👍👍🤣🤣
cheers
Kev
Realy nice Kev. Glad you held onto it
Cheers KZ
Yes its with me till my toes curl up🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍

@@MrFactotum It's quite an easy bike to like!
@@BensWorkshop yes, could have sold it 100 times over, i had a sister bike to it, one that i had renovated from a basket case, and sold it on, it was identical in every way except new paint, that bike learned me how to rewind magnetos and that was what set me off on this youtube business.thanks for feedback
take care
Ben
Go through all your bikes Kev 😉
Good to see a video from you again 👍
yes i might as well give them all a treat, watch this space
cheers
Kev
Gday Kev, After 10 years this still only took a couple of kicks, if this was a modern bike I don't think it would be this easy, the condition of the bike is a credit to you, thanks for sharing, Cheers
Thanks Matty
Bikes in better condition than my Knee and Back🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Cheers
Kev
Hi Kev. What a beautiful bike. I am surprised that it started that easy.. Thanks for sharing.
You and me both! especially with my dodgy knee🤣😉👍👍
take care
Joe
Hello Kevin, thanks for doing a video on the shooting Star, I've been looking at in some of your other videos and trying to decide if it was an A7 or A10. I had the chance to buy a Shooting Star some years ago, I didn't and regretted it. I was lucky enough to own a Super Rocket for some years though, that was an easy starter. I love the quadrant panniers on yours, they really look the business. I hope to be back working on the loco soon, (Jon tempted me into making a "Marc" engine but that's nearly finished). Stay safe and best regards. Stephen.
cheers stephen A7, you should have snapped the SS up, the 1956 to 1958 models are sort after with the divers helmet headlight, i think.
I rebuilt a super rocket a few years back from a box of bits, all matching numbers, and another SS identical year to mine, but i sold it on, it was offers i couldn't refuse, glad to hear your hard at it.
Watch out for my other bikes starting up after being laid up due to my knee problems,
take care
Kev
Thanks Kev, I asked if you would give it a go a few months ago. It sounded great. And only a few kicks to get it going too. I hope the kicking knee was feeling okay after.
Hi Laurie
Yes i was wondering who the elite few were who asked me to go around my bikes, thanks for giving me the incentive, even though the bikes are in better nick than me🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍
Thanks for feedback, moving on to the next bike now, so watch this space, i think i will give them all a turn and a treat.
Cheers
Kev
Just a couple years younger then me! I need at least that many kicks to get me going. 👍
hi Jim.
same year as me, but in better condition🤣🤣
I take some starting too🤔😜😉👍
thanks for feedback

Kev
After 10 yrs, petrol still in’t tank, oil still in’t tank, five kicks and it’s running, incredible. Nice bike though, just doing an engine for one.
great to hear from you i4186
yes brill bike and the magneto is the original 1956 one, i'm amazed thats still ok
thanks for the feedback and good luck with the engine

Kev
Where's the oily rag ????
Cracking bit of kit that Kev 🏍🏍🏍
cheers Neil
hope you have your feet back on terra firma ok now.
It's me who needs the oily rag and a couple of grease nipples🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍👍
see you next time
Kev
What a machine Kev! How it didn't wet sump after ten years is a miracle, or well maintained ball valve! I didn't know you were a BSA man too. Great video, I must send you my sticker.
Best wishes, Dean.
hi dean
thanks for feedback, my friend has always been jealous that mine hardly ever wet sumps and his pours out.... send me an email its on my about page and we will exchange addresses for the customary stickers. Other bikes coming up, watch this space.
take care
Kev
👍🏴
Thanks KS
appreciate the feedback

Kev
Excellent Kev. Beautiful machine. Back in the late 50’s my Dad had a Triumph Tiger 110 here in the states. I got a reminder when I was in India with the Royal Enfields all around. Love the old bikes.
I have an early 70’s Honda Elsinore to get working again someday.
All the best
Dan
cheers Dan
Thanks, tiger 110 sounds great, all the best with the Honda, my other bikes starting up soon, watch this space.
👍👍👍👍
take care
Kev
I also ave a Shooting Star and like your own, its hugely reliable. I also have the A10 (1959), also excellent though slightly heavier, also an A65 thats fine but not really a relaxed ride, a 1940 M20 thats the last word in reliability and a Guzzi Falcone (my only ever foreign bike) thats also hegely reliable.
Got to have something to do, havent we !
wow Steve
you have some great bikes there👍🏍 , i have a friend with a gold flash a10, another mate with a A65 still in refurb and another friend with a few, yes a few Vincents.
I went a tour on my BSA SS a few year back, 11 countries around europe starting in Norway after a ferry from Newcastle, 4000 miles in 18 days, never let me down, don't know if i could do it again with a few more years on my age.
Thanks for your feedback
regards
Kev
