Your old BMW is still immaculate Kev, evidence of plenty TLC and regular maintenance right there , I have great respect for the early Boxer BMW's. thanks for the Vid, cheers Paul

I had an R100RT just after passing my bike test and it never missed a beat in years and many miles of ownership. The only thing that ever happened was that the right hand carb would flood occasionally filling my boot with petrol.
Eyup Malcolm,
Thanks for the feedback, it's funny that, my left hand carb occassionally fills my boot until i give it a gentle kick, still does it with a new float cut off valve, even tried swapping right to left, but it still does it !!!!!!👍👍🏍🏍
cheers
Kev
I love it Kev. Those older boxers were beautiful machines.
Best wishes, Dean.

Well how good is that. I subbed after watching the gear cutting videos…. And now one of the greatest sounds to my heart. A bmw starting up. I’ve got a r100r mystic. Thanks for the video

What ho Mr F, well started quickly, jyst like it should. I wont go into the R80 we used look after for the london parks police but it involved batteries and coppers leaving the lights on.
Just by coincidence i reinsured my 75/5 yesterday so there is a chance i might get around to starting it soon.
Isn't it odd about fuel consumption, the best i got from my other one, 90S, was 67mpg on a run back from Devon following my sister in her Austin A40. The 75 always seems to return 47-50 no matter what i do or where i go.

PS You'll like my latest machining project, setting up to sleeve bmw undertank master cylinders where there is nothing flat square or parallel to hold them by. Got it sussed now though.😊
eyup Chris
great to see you back, i will tell you something Chris it's weird why one model under performs than another, the 1984 r80/7 i had would barely reach 40 mpg but this 1979 will acheive 65 +. I tried everything with it, even swapped and put the 1979 carbs on it to see if it was the carbs that were worn but still the same, it's got to be the lighter flywheel and back wheel drive ratio. Anyway i said goodbye to it and it's in Cyprus now for a cypriat to take the task on!!!!!.
Hope your videoing the master cylinder for me!! 👍🏍🏍
cheers
Kev
@@MrFactotum we will have wait and see😉
