      Yep it’s true Jesus came to call back and bring the sinners to Him and that would be me scum of the scum with a pornography and masturbation addiction for 15 years since the age of 12 recently repenting of it with a conversion last year on Divine Mercy Sunday from last year in 2023. I still sin in that area but not as often or everyday and week like I used to after for the first time as a Catholic picking up the Word and seeking the Scriptures, praying the Rosary, and seeking God for help and penance since I could not save myself and end the addiction as I tried serval times before. The Lord is working on me still to purify me.

    Sometimes we sin and do not know what we are doing.

      its a bit more complex than that, Calvinism opened up questions of predestination, grace and free will. The Catholic development of camps around these questions was not a direct reaction to Calvinism. But the result of Calvinism and its double predestination was that only a few people were seen as being "one saved always saved," while many more were seen as hopelessly wicked. In Catholicism, one camp belonging to the idea that grace is everything and we simply sit back and let it happen, that we have no direct action in salvation whatsoever. Jansenism was more the other way, that grace saves us but the path is narrow, and in fact so narrow that many people will never make it, and if you want to make it you better really work at it, and if you cant quite cut it...well that is where you get people in confession 3 times a week and never receiving communion, and believing that they are just not cut out of the cloth that the saints are. So its not really the same as Calvinism but it also is kinda the same as Calvinism.

    Your opening statement is correct: 'I have come not for the righteous but for sinners' - but you only consider half of it.
    The other half is 'TO REPENTANCE' - which means CHANGING OUR WAYS so that we SIN NO MORE, as Our Lord told the Adulteress...
    What you're pushing is not Catholicism but a form of Calvinism whereby only the elect few who believe in your 'salvation' through the acceptance of sin will be 'saved'.
    In reality, they will go to Hell if they listen to you: '(...)And the TRUTH shall set you FREE (from sin)'!
    God is Merciful but He is also JUST...
    We need God's help to do His will and lead saintly lives - and He does provide it, precisely in the form of the EFFICACIOUS Grace taught by saint Augustine, the Jansenists and all the Church fathers up to and including saint Bernard in response to the ever resurgent heresy of Pelagianism...
    What we need is to call out Naturalism wherever it lurks and tell the Truth about Grace - not accommodate sin by surrendering to it.
    Do you realize that there can be only one proof of having received the Holy Spirit?
    That's right, BEING HOLY.
    If you're struggling with sin and find yourself in need of God's Mercy all the time, that's proof RIGHT THERE that the Spirit who dwells in you is NOT the Holy Spirit and you shoujld keep looking for answers...
    Shouldn't that be obvious?

      @@heathera2874 Yes, but we need the REAL Faith - i.e., in EFFICACIOUS Grace: THAT is key.
      Until you believe Grace is EFFICACIOUS in and of itself, you will never be freed from sin - hence the never ending abuse of God's Mercy.

    • @superapex2128
      @superapex2128 Місяць тому

      @@heathera2874 There is no true Repentance if you're unwilling to take the means necessary to avoid sin, which is belief in EFFICACIOUS Grace, the only Grace that truly Santficies - and ultimately Saves.

      Conveniently, you left out Pentacost and the Gift of the Holy Spirit...
      Is it any wonder you find it so difficult to lead a saintly life and are constantly in need of God's Mercy?
      The indwelling of the Holy Spirit is precisely what makes Grace efficacious: Charity has been poured forth into your hearts by the Gift of the Holy Ghost!
      A partial 'Gospel' doesn't lead to Heaven: only the COMPLETE Truth is the Way - and the Life.

    • @superapex2128
      @superapex2128 Місяць тому +1

      The only reason the 'Jansenists' were more rigorous than the Jesuits is that they believed in the possibility of being FREED from sin through EFFICACIOUS Grace - while the Jesuits did not.
      The Sacraments were widely distributed - but not to those who refused to change their lives according to their supposed Faith: if you truly believe that Grace is EFFICACIOUS, than your life should change drastically and you should be able to live in a habitual state of Grace...
      This much should be obvious.
      The true hypocrites were the Jesuits who bestowed the Sacraments indisciminantly - much like they do today...
      Unfortunately, you're lumping together 'Jansenism' and Calvinism but the two are very different: the former does not believe Grace to be irresistible while the latter does - and THEREIN lies the heresy.
      For the sake of your own soul and those who trust in you, please look into these matters more carefully...

    • @superapex2128
      @superapex2128 Місяць тому

      @@heathera2874 Well, if we never teach the Truth about Grace, how will anyone receive it?
      What do you think a good Priest does?
      The Sacrament of Penance is actually a dress rehearsal for our Particular judgement...
      It IS the duty of the Priest to PRUDENTLY evaluate if the sinner is worthy or not of absolution.
      If you don't do that as a Priest in the Confessional, you're not acting 'In Persona Christi' who WILL judge us on Judgement day...
      Here on Earth, we still have time to change our lives and become saintly: when we die, we will no longer be able to...
      The time to change is now and with EFFICACIOUS Grace, it's not only possible: it's easy - '(...)For my Yoke is EASY and my Burden is LIGHT'!

    I dont disagree with the video, but it does not make it very clear what Jansenism is exactly. Which is really the problem with anywhere you look about Jansenism, that it isnt very well defined as to what it is and isnt. Such as if we say it is about rejecting an approach of "rigorous morality", we can easily take that and say "whats so bad about observing concrete moral teaching?" or conversely "we do not need rules to follow Jesus." When in reality Jansenism is something that is not rooted in either idea, so much as in a country club type of mentality, among those who would divide the Church into groups of Catholic and Catholic Plus, and only one of these is of the real Catholics on the way of salvation who are predestined for heaven. In reality there is no Catholic Plus and we are all equally in danger of Hell and equally being saved, although we do still have to observe the commandments of God and the doctrine of the Church as our basic requirement of cooperation with grace. Just not that we also have to take up a habit of X Y and Z, even though X Y and Z are not bad practices in themselves.
    I realize I have also not given a clear definition of Jansenism here, but I think the Country Club analogy is sufficient to define the main problem, an us and them mentality within the Body, thinking of ourselves as being more Catholic than others who are in the same state of grace or at least trying to remain so.
