Nobody deserves Heaven, we have all sinned and even the smallest sin separates us from God. In the parable Jesus explains that the land owner tells the disgruntled ones that who are they to tell him what he does with is money, they got paid what they agreed to do. In other words who are we to question God and His mercy? In the end everyone in Heaven is purified and all from the smallest to the greatest will regret all of their sins. You’re sharing the words of our spiritual father, the Good Bishop, so I just subscribed!! Thank you so much for this! May God bless and protect you! ❤🙏🏼
I met with a priest in the 90s when I was in college who told me about how he's sometimes called to accident scenes. Sometimes the victim is severely injured and near death, perhaps unable to communicate. Father said he often felt that even in one's final seconds of life, it may be all we need to repent and accept Christ. Scripture says how, with God, a thousand years can be like a second, and a single second can be like a thousand years (sorry, paraphrasing). So who's to say that a single second - even our very last second - can't be ample time to accept Christ. Father then joked and said, "I definitely don't recommend waiting that long, but still..." God bless.
Thank you so much for shedding light on this sermon! I listened to it on Bishop Barron’s channel when it was released and it struck me too. @@EvieWest-ut4kt Yeah, I guess we need to ignore Jesus' commands to clothe the naked, feed the hungry, and visit the imprisoned. Or the Bible saying the doers of the law will be justified, not the hearers. It is about walking obediently with Christ, not a ticket you punch one time and done. The Bible uses faith alone one time, and says we are NOT saved by faith alone.
@@EricNault-qg7ni I mean you can't expect too much from UA-cam comments 😂 I think my reply went a little more into depth saying how the Mob-Hitman sure could be in heaven, but it has nothing to do with confessing to a priest. Only his relationship with Jesus Christ. And agreed with the parts I did agree with. Like how the kingdom of heaven does begin on earth. I often say not-sinning isn't just to get into heaven when you die, but choosing not to live in sin also brings the Kingdom of Heaven down to earth for you and those around you. But if that man's statement of Christ being The Only Way was ila good enough response to the Priest saying the Hitman was saved through confessing to a Priest, what would you have added? I love growing my intellect
I don't find that parable challenging at all. I want as many people to go to heaven as possible. It's where we belong. We are made in God's image. God's Grace is infinite. It is not a zero sum game. I am so glad that my faith is one in which everyone can be saved, and it's never too late. What a gift Jesus has given us. What generosity. What Grace. Thanks be to God.
Those in heaven are perfected in love. I believe in the communion of saints. The saints in heaven because they are perfected in love; will the good for us here on earth. They are willing and happy to help us. We are all part of the Body of Christ. When we ask the saints to pray for us to help us here on earth it is like a hand offered in friendship. It is a recognition of their great worth and of fellowship. It is so very beautiful.
I am a Roman Catholic. Our Lord Jesus is the Way,the Truth, and the Life.We have to follow his Way.This is all mentioned in the Holy Bible. Our Lord Jesus knows that we are all sinners. Our Lord Jesus will return in Glory and Power,to Judge the Living and Dead.He will then decide who goes to Heaven, and who goes to Hell. That means, that no person is in Heaven,or in Hell at the moment. As I said he will decide when he returns.❤️🙏🏽❤️.
I do not begrudge any person the opportunity to enter the kingdom of God. It doesn't matter to me how good I've been and how bad someone else has been. I desire that all get to a point in their lives that they repent of their sins and declare Christ the Messiah the saviour of all who accept him.
A friend of mine put it to me in 3 simple terms in order to understand. The lowliest is human law, then there is natural law, then at the utmost pinnacle of all is Divine Law which all comes from God. We must obey all of them but place none above God's Law. If God want's to save our souls, He did it by sending His only begotten Son Jesus Christ to do such. This I believe, to the end.
From your comments section this parable escapes most of us sinners. That's why "A daily shot of God' ain't gonna cut it. We live ourselves into the Kingdom of God by being washed in the blood of Christ and aligning our will with His. Read John 6. The whole chapter.
If we say that God has inexhaustible Mercy, and wants each one of us to be saved, then confessing our sins, showing repentance and asking for forgiveness is plenty enough for God to save us. When we pray at Mass for our beloved ones who have departed , the priest says " ...look not on their sins but on their Faith..." So, the reward is the same for a pius than for someone who repents and confess his/her sins at last day of his/her life
Respectfully, the bishop is not saying the Truth in its entirety. A confession doesn’t work that way - the important point he missed is this - the confession must be sincere and with a contrite heart. Also, I’m stunned that is a difficult parable. I find it comforting. As a Catholic I absolutely want those end of life conversions to go to Heaven. A lost soul is unbearably sad.
You’re working on the presumption that the confessions wasn’t sincere, or given with a contrite heart. Having not been there, I can’t say that he was or wasn’t sincere but I would fervently hope he was. Certainly the priest attending him felt that it was a good confession.
Roman’s 8:34. Who is the one condemning? For it is Christ Jesus, the one having died, now rather having been raised up, who is also at the right hand of God, and who is interceding for us.
The Bible, which is God's Holy Word, beautifully explains who goes to Heaven and that it is those who become Born-Again by repenting of their sins and receiving Jesus as Lord and Savior. It is by His grace through His faith a person is saved and not by anything they could ever do. Once that is done Jesus promises to never leave or forsake them - no matter what.

Amazing discussion. So 'simple'... except we're not. ;-) One point, though - Love is not 'just' to will the good of the other. There's a follow up detail per Aquinas, that 'To love is to will the good of the other FOR THE SAKE OF THE OTHER'..... and by extension, not for the sake of ourselves. How often do we use people - wish them well because it will do us well in some matter. We use people in this way. You see it in relationships all the time.
We can do nothing in our own strength.... God is the God of all, and He wants our love and devotion now, whether after a long life or in the last few minutes.Praise God for His infinite mercy.
From what he said, it made me think more of when we get purged after death called purgatory. It sounds to me like when you love perfectly you are in heaven, and perfectly isn’t everybody so when other people die, there must be a place where they get a chance to fulfill the rest of the love that they haven’t done on earth. . It just makes total sense to me. But it goes to show that it’s very hard to be purely in love like Jesus loves. And that’s what we have to attain because I’m then reunited with Him right? Thus we are united in love with LOVE HIMSELF… And that is Heaven! 😇🪽🕊️🔥🌟🌃✝️
@@cq8822According to St Catherine of Genoa, a soul which goes to Purgatory does so willingly, because they have the knowledge that even the slightest part of any previous sin must be purged. They actually rejoice in this, and despite the pain of this purging, would not even want Heaven at that point. They do not want to be in the Presence of God while there are still any impediments or defects upon them. Indeed, even if God allowed them straight into Heaven without being purged, the soul would still insist on Purgatory .
Jesus Christ said to his Apostles. Jonh 6 53:54 Verly verly I say unto you except you eat the flesh of the son of man and drink His blood ye have no life in you 54.whose eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood hath eternal life and I will raise him up at the last day. Jesus Christ established a church whithin His church a new covenant with His blood for the remission of sin. He also ordained with His Apostles baptism and the sacrament of confession and the Eucharist . He never said ignore what I ordained with you as long as you are born again in the spirit you are saved. That is a diabolical deception.

Having a relationship with God should be considered an honor and pure joy, not a burden of any kind. Thus, the early laborers definitely came out ahead. However, I feel the topic of rewards/treasures in heaven, are based not so much on salvation/getting there - but by the life a person has led, i.e. storing up treasures in heaven. The lifelong, fruitful believer would have a different, and likely higher position/treasures in heaven vs the late comer if you will.
It is never too late for your love ones to turn to Jesus Christ. Praise the Lord.

Luckily, God understands justice and mercy way better than we do.
Thank God for Bishop Barron and all who help to bring The Lord’s good news to this short-sighted world.
Well.said bishop Barron love willing love for everyone very Well explained

Absolutely wonderful! The Bishop resonates. God Bless.
Thank you, Bishop Barron. You always enlighten us with your words.
I pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to keep this grace of living Heaven here right now always alive and strong in my heart and mind. Most especially when the evil one tries to trick me out of this newfound grace of loving attitude towards life's trials.
Thank you for shining the light on this parable. It has helped me grow spiritually.
God bless you ❤️ ✝️
This blind guide has only spoken darkness and deception. This Godless man has nothing whatsoever to do with the God, the Jesus, the truth, the gospel, nor the Christianity of the Bible. Repent!
@@awatchman-um7vy Who are you talking about? And why?
@@Just_Smile-n2w I am talking about the phony father/bishop or whatever he claims to be, being in a 100% false, manmade, antigod, antibible, antichrist religion and speaking nothing but darkness and deception. The whole Godless abomination of catholicism is all darkness, deception and ungodliness.
Why am I preaching the truth of Gods word to the blind, lost, and deceived? Read the Bible and find out!
Those who have sinned the worst will appreciate God's mercy more than those who have sinned less. That is why when you are seated at the banquet table for the feast take the lowest place first and if the master moves you to a higher seat than the Lord does recognize your hard work.
I have zero issues with God's extensive mercy❤
God doesn't want any of His children in Hell. He wants them all with Him. That's why He gives us chance after chance to repent...7 times 70...❤
"Hi Father,
I'm thankful for God's unconditional love and Jesus' sacrifice for us. I'm also grateful for God's boundless grace and mercy, allowing others to enter heaven at the last minute, simply by seeking forgiveness. This truth is beyond beautiful!
Much love and light through Jesus Christ,

What an awesome channel. Just found it today. Thanks for breaking down Bishop Barron even more for us. Very well made videos. God bless you.
Thanks and welcome!
I really needed to hear this lesson today. What a gift.
That is not a Catholic Priest. That is Bishop Robert Barron and he is a great source for the intellectual Christian.
This can be hard for many because we don't understand the reward that is being given to us. We could never do enough to earn it.
A bishop is still a priest my friend, even the Pope is a priest. When he speaks to the clergy he says my brothers, my fellow priests.
@@b00g3rs21 I suppose technically all brothers in Christ are priest in that way.
@@MillionLords-n8g definitely not, at least not for Catholics, the order of priesthood is a distinct and separate thing from the laity.
Wow! Bishop Barren! I needed this teaching. And I desperately need to apply it to my life. Thank you so much, and God bless you!
Great video. Christianity is really most profound and its foundation goes deeper than justice. Love is its bedrock, the infinite wellspring of God's essence.
Bishop Barron is such an inspiring person. I loved that during COVID we were able to hear his Sunday Mass each week.
I needed this spiritual help.
The goal isn't personal reward. The goal is the salvation of souls.
Thank you so much for shedding light on this sermon! I listened to it on Bishop Barron’s channel when it was released and it struck me too. Thanks also for the beautiful prayer at the end of your video from “The Valley of Vision”. I promptly ordered the book and have been bingeing on it since! It is truly a beautiful collection. God bless you and may we all be granted the grace of Heaven one day. ❤️

What a wonderful parable. I've never understood it until today! As a late comer to Christ Hallelujah!
Only those that believe in Jesus. It’s not about your good works so that no-one can boast.
With that logic, demons will be in heaven.
@@jedroueche8161salvation is only through repentance unto Jesus Christ asking him into your heart. Bible says there's no other way but by Jesus

I think my reply went a little more into depth saying how the Mob-Hitman sure could be in heaven, but it has nothing to do with confessing to a priest.
Our Lord Jesus is the Way,the Truth, and the Life.We have to follow his Way.This is all
mentioned in the Holy Bible. Our Lord Jesus knows that we are all sinners.
Our Lord Jesus will return in Glory and Power,to Judge the Living and Dead.He will then decide who
goes to Heaven, and who goes to Hell.
Our ways are not God's ways. Our thoughts are not God's thoughts. We don't have the right to question the Lord.
The crazy math of grace!

I cried so much just now listening to this.
Pray for your enemies, that is the path to heaven.
In simple terms
Humility, Gratitude, love and kindness, are the simple tools for us mortal beings to journey to divine rest
Bishop Barron always presents truth in such an understandable way. I'm blessed to have discovered his website a few years ago. Blessings to all.
Bishop barron missed a point. Ok
You’re working on the presumption that the confessions wasn’t sincere, or given with a contrite heart. Having not been there, I can’t say that he was or wasn’t sincere but I would fervently hope he was. Certainly the priest attending him felt that it was a good confession.
Remember in God’s mercy a good confession can be motivated solely by the fear of hell.
Roman’s 8:34. Who is the one condemning? For it is Christ Jesus, the one having died, now rather having been raised up, who is also at the right hand of God, and who is interceding for us.
Christ is interceding for us in matters of condemnation! CHRIST HIMSELF.
Divine Mercy is for all once repentance is done
Be blessed man of God!

Reminds me of the parable of the Prodigal Son. I get emotional every time I picture the father girding his loins and running toward his wayward son. How great is our God!
Thus we are united in love with LOVE HIMSELF…
And that is Heaven! 😇🪽🕊️🔥🌟🌃✝️
Purgatory is a second chance. Purgatory is for those who are going to Heaven but need more purification.

He also ordained with His Apostles baptism and the sacrament of confession and the Eucharist .

God, help me to rejoice when I see my enemies in heaven.
True, the is a ranking system in heaven.
