    You will be able to monetize your channel in a few hundred subs, and with your numbers, you should be making around 50-100 dollars each month starting out. You should already be near or at the overall watch time requirement.
    That said, I am well familiar with how much time and effort it takes to make videos on youtube and other platforms, it can feel like a full time (plus more) job that pays you back very little for the time you put in.
    This all being said, your idea is great, and I think people would be willing to chip in.

      Yeah, I’ll have to look into it if I get to 1000 subs. But I definitely won’t be able to make a day job out of it, so any income would be small anyway. But that’s ok, that’s not what I do this for.
      Folks already reached the target, and I’ve been playing the community bought WRC Generations for a while already! 😊

    interesting idea, I wouldn't want to spend money on Generations either so letting the people who might want to see the comparison decide is good

    TARGET REACHED in 18 hours! Guys, you are amazing! WRC Generation purchased. I deleted the QR link, but left the URL (with a clear note of target being reached) in the description in case someone wants to further support the channel. You chose what I'll be doing for the next few weeks! 😆

    Good luck with that one. Sounds are the least shitty of all Kylotonn games, as for the handling I couldn't tell because it ran so poorly with massive input lag on my potato PC, despite cars looking much worse than on DR2.0, at least IMO

  • @Habixus
    @Habixus Рік тому +1

    Great idea, I sent a bit of money :) I'm not sure about Console though. At my PC, the input lag in WRC 10 and Gen seems to be absolutely minimal and I'm enjoying both, although they are a bit "special" sometimes. If you test it, please make sure to also test this car: Lancia Delta HF (doesn't matter if the rear wing version or the slower version). That car has a good sound and is the perfect balance for fun drifting without too easily spinning out. I really like it's behaviour.
    That said, the FFB is plain awful without the wild FFB Curve I could apply in my Moza Software. With my Fanatec CSW 2.5 I really didn't like WRC 10 or Gen. With the new Moza wheelbase and "messed up" ffb curve, I love both.
    Beware of the handbrake super-slide-mode though. If you pull the handbrake, the car will basically turn+slide on it's own, which is very very weird, but awesome fun, lol.

      Thank you for participating and for the tips! We’re halfway there, and I just started the fundraiser 10 hrs ago. Well done guys!
      I’ve actually lately started to like the HF more and more, it was just so chronically understeery on DR2.0 that I thought it was an actual inseparable part of the HF. Not so on EA WRC though. Will definitely try it on KT’s WRCs.
      I heard about the handbrake issue on Broadbent’s Gen review. I actually seem to share many opinions with Jimmy on other driving games as well, I’m sure we will find shared opinions on the Gen too. The gas pedal issue sounds like an unfathomable oversight from KT, we’ll see if it bothers the older cars as well.

      @@mrelwoodgames5971 can't wait :D tbh the HF is almost the only car that I really enjoy and therefore drive in WRC 10/Gen. I didn't test all cars yet, because I only drive a few stages per week to get a little rallye fix between ACC, but apart from maybe the RWD Porsche, I didn't find a car with a great sound and great handling. The HF is awesome though!
      The handbrake is fun, but yeah, you can basically turn in at 5 km/h, pull the handbrake and the car will keep sliding+turning with your current speed instead of just doing a small wiggle and coming to stand still haha. At faster speeds it's not that detectable and drives well. You'll need to try different stages/weather. Gen has very very low grip at slightly wet Finland, but nice grip at dry Estonia. Visually almost identical, but half the grip coefficient, lol. What you absolutely need to test: Monaco with a mix of dry/ice/snow. You really get your wrists slapped by the dry tarmac patches between ice/snow parts. I love it!
      Overall it's a bit weird and wild, but with the HF it's a lot of fun for me!
      If you really get to test it, feel free to contact me for ffb and camera settings, the exact names of the awesome stages etc. I didn't find anyone using my settings on the internet, but I invested a few hours into them and I'm the guy from "RasmusP LUTs for G27" on Racedepartment, so I'd think I'm qualified to recommend ffb settings.
      Not sure how to get in contact though. Maybe on something like the EA WRC Discord or via a garbage-Mail posted here that gets deleted after sharing our real mail addresses there.

    I like the idea, but (personal opinion here) beyond some extra content, there is not too big of a difference between WRC 10 and WRCG. The physics are almost identical. I think the biggest difference between the two games was the introduction of the hybrid system for the WRC 1 cars. I’m sorry you had a bad experience with WRC 10. I felt the physics were the closest to real life from my real world experience (however, I have never played RBR). I really loved WRCG, but if you did not like 10, you more than likely won’t like Generations. Better to let others buy it for you if they really want a comparison video. I must admit though, the way you scientifically and thoroughly analyze physics, it would be an interesting video either way.

    • @mrelwoodgames5971
      @mrelwoodgames5971  Рік тому +1

      The main problem for me on WRC 10 (on PS5) was the handling, more than the actual physics. There was such slowness and a bad inertia to the steering that it made the car feel like a large boat. I consider this to be an input issue, so I don’t think I got any real connection to the actual physics of the game. Do you think there would be a difference to Generations in this regard? Also, which platform are you on?

    • @drw4338
      @drw4338 Рік тому +1

      I have actually heard a few people describe the driving of 10 like driving a boat. I personally never felt that way, but as I have mentioned in several comments, I’m not sure people are actually driving correctly. Especially if they are coming from a Codemasters title. Even in the new EA WRC in their rally school section there is a lesson teaching you to lift to rotate. Not only does this not work in the real car (and will actually cause you to crash), but it is specifically taught in the real world rally school I attended, NOT to do that. To take a corner correctly in WRC 10 or G, you brake hard before and into the turn, while turning the wheel roughly 90 degrees right or left (degrees will vary by the turn). You begin lifting off the brake right around the apex of the turn (basically trail braking) The whole time you never lift off the throttle. You’re just overlapping left foot braking. Real cars on loose surfaces (and in 10 & G) act kind of like a jet ski. If you’re not on the gas, you have no control. If you lift off the throttle in real life and hit the brakes around a corner, all you will do is lock up your wheels, and then your on skis right into a tree. If driven correctly, cars in WRC 10 and G can be very nimble. IMHO KT Racing went for realism, and Codemasters markets to the general population. Most of that general population have no rally training, so they make it easier for those who have only ever driven a normal car on the street. Think about it, most people on the street lift off the throttle to bleed off speed before a turn.
      I’m on PC by the way.

      I wonder if there’s a big difference between platforms. I’m on PS5 with the T300-RS wheel.
      The boat steering issue was there right from the start. Just at 50km/h, if I quickly position the steering wheel to an angle, the car rotation starts to accelerate incrementally, and when I straighten the wheel, the car rotation starts to slow down but still goes on for a while. There’s absolutely nothing immediate about it. When I do that with my passenger car, the car’s rotation follows the steering wheel position without delay, slowness or inertia. Because of this slowness I had big trouble getting past medium to tighter turns even at crawling speeds. This was so off putting that I really didn’t have any motivation to keep going. I did drive it a bit more earlier on though, but felt completely disconnected then as well.

    • @drw4338
      @drw4338 Рік тому +1

      Hmmm, I would first make sure you have calibrated your wheel in the in game settings, and then maybe play with steering wheel saturation a bit. You can definitely adjust it for more or less reaction to your turning inputs. Could just be a setting thing, but you also have to remember you’re on a loose surface most of the time too. So just because you turn the wheel and punch the gas does not mean you immediately get traction. Counter steering and weight transfer are huge in 10 & G. Think of your front wheels like a plow. When you’re on the gas, the cars weight is to the rear, your front tires are slightly lifted at this point. Turn the wheel when on the gas, then when the steering wheel is pointed where you want the car to go, tap the brake with your left foot (stays on the power though). This will shift weight to the front of the car and dig your tires/plow into the ground providing more grip and causing the car to turn. Immediately let off the brake with your left foot when the car points the direction you want to go, and since you’re already on the gas, the car will stabilize and accelerate that direction.

      Thanks for the tips, but I think I’m pretty ok with really car handling basics already. The issue I described happened on tarmac at steady speed of about 50km/h. And it seemed repeatable under various other circumstances as well.
      But I will try the wheel calibration and saturation tips, since I can see how they could affect the issue.

    I’d gladly watch any review of yours but I think what you’ve said about WRC10 says it all.
    From quick googling the bugs, like the throttle being unresponsive below 50% input, haven’t been fixed, but maybe I missed something.
    I didn’t waste my time and I wouldn’t waste yours. WRC:G was a train wreck of a release and even though I bought 8, 9, 10 I didn’t bother with Generations.
    I guess KT had no interest in fixing it since they were giving away the license.
    But on the other hand negative reviews bring views so maybe it’s worth it in that regard? The game’s pretty dead though.
    Shame about your channel not bringing revenue. I hope it changes.

    • @mrelwoodgames5971

      There are several people claiming the WRCG as a clear winner over the EA WRC in practically everything. If it really is like WRC 10, I just don’t get it. I’d love to understand.
      I doubt this channel will ever bring in revenue. After all, that’s not why I started making videos.
