    I think they drop the weight because otherwise they can't readjust the rack height for the next guy. Don't think they're trying to be assholes

      Also this is a competition, not the gym. Their main concern is to perform the lift. They have people on the side to re-rack it. It's normal

    I watched this, the strict press and snatch deadlift and can't get a read out of who lifted what weight.

    my problem with front squats is breating. Once i get my target weight on the bar, it presses down on my chest too hard for me to get in a good breath. I've tried shifting the bar forward on my arms and a few other things but can't get it right.
    anyone have some suggestions?

      If you are doing singles you might be able to breathe, unrack, and squat in one breath. It is part of the challenge of front squats though.

      Matt Douglas - just wanted to thank you for the advice, it worked very well!
      I did front squats yesterday and took them up to 95%, all in one breath. made it feel easy, but I have to admit, I nearly blacked out and saw stars after every rep. going to attempt a PR next weekend!

      @@gordlawson11 I'm glad it helped! I received this advice from Brian Alsruhe's youtube channel and I would highly recommend all his videos. He has lots of cues and form tips that I've never heard from anyone else and they all seem helpful.

      D4Y DN they started at 220 kg (4 red on each side) and Vasiliy failed the last at 290 kg (!) (5 red + 1 green (10kg)

      it's not about Russia or other country, it's about dedicating your entire life to this sport, I believe any guy in any country would be as strong as these guys are, if he dedicated his life to weightlifting.

      Tian Tao, Toshiki, Keydomar, front squatting 280+ at around 100kg each is ridiculous.

      Think Gabriel Sincraian did 280 @ 85 with the most beautiful technique ever.
      edit: actually cant find that vid anywhere but theree is a vid where he does 240 for a double which looks like he couldve done 4-5 atleast (which would indicate a 270-280 1rm or thereabouts

      @@monkynutss711 Tian Tao did 280 @85 flawless too (did it at least twice), also did 245kg for a double with 4~5 more in the tank, in fact his squat form is the best I've ever seen. In leg strength they are pretty equal
