- The Cori cycle - This lecture explains about the cori cycle. Core cycle is a process of how our body supplies glucose to the cell by converting it to lactose. The Cori cycle (also known as the Lactic acid cycle), named after its discoverers, Carl Ferdinand Cori and Gerty Cori, refers to the metabolic pathway in which lactate produced by anaerobic glycolysis in the muscles moves to the liver and is converted to glucose, which then returns to the muscles and is metabolized.
The body is very efficient in that lactic acid is sent in the blood (5) to the liver which can convert it back to pyruvic acid (6) and then to glucose through gluconeogenesis (8). The glucose can enter the blood (9) and be carried to muscles and immediately used.
Lactate is transported back to the liver where it is converted into pyruvate by the Cori cycle using the enzyme lactate dehydrogenase.Pyruvate, the first designated substrate of the gluconeogenic pathway, can then be used to generate glucose.

Welcome from india
You're a natural teacher, these lectures are really well structured!
+Chuck Vanderbildt great. Thank you.
Segond year biology student here. I'm studying for my final exams and i've recently found your videos. I'm at a point now where I refuse to watch anything but your videos to study, and they work so well! You're a really good teacher and i'm extremely appreciative of what you do! Thanks for all :D
All the best for future career
LOVE the way you present sir !

Gluconeogenesis k bad Jo glucose bna kia wo muscle ko energy dyga ya wo B's serf bn jata hai aur dobara liver k pas Chala jata hai
best discription🤗🤗🤗
You are Gem ♥️
Love from Pakistan
Thank you. Glad you liked my lectures
Thank you 😊
You're welcome
Very helpfull video
you're a star!!!!!
Please .can I ask qusition .
It's regarding renger lactate fluid .it can be used for diabetic patient or not . Ist indicated it contraindicated
thank you brother
thanks for your effort!
You're welcome
so easy to understand🙏
Thank you. Glad you liked my lectures
💜
u are the best
Tq soo much sir🥰
Thank you so much

Thank you sir ❤
Great vedio
You're welcome. Glad to hear that you're getting benefit from my lectures
you are awsome sir
Thankyou Sir😀
You're welcome
Wonderfully explained. Thank you very much. Is neogenesis somehow involved in raising triglyceride levels? Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I hope I can get an answer.
Also, I didn't understand how the muscle differentiates between the first Glucose and the one that the liver sends after converting Pyr to Glu.
Thank you
Ab Ab Even I didn’t understand the second question 😬
Thank you sr...u made my biochemistry paper too easy...thank you sr again...
Sir ur immunology videos were g8....thanks a lot..
+Alwina Anam thank you
Sir plz explain me how net 4ATP are produced during Cori cycle.
I'm you number 1 fan
+halmb0 thank you.
Thank you
You're welcome
Great sir 🙏🙏
You're welcome
Thank you sir
You're welcome
🙏🙏🙏 thank you sir
You're welcome
t snare v snare cop proteins clatherin.. please make ur live videos on these topics... dat will be much better to understand... btw ur videos are awesome....
+Alwina Anam thank you. It's nice that you liked my lectures
Thank you sir....😊
You're welcome
Great!!
Thank you
How LDH can form lactic acid and pyruvate too?
You may be inspired by Dr najeeb....your lectures are same as Dr najeeb 😅
I never ever watched. Single video of him. Heard about him though
Given that glucose uptake in muscle cells is predominantly via insulin-mediated GLUT4, how is the glucose being exported back to muscle cells taken up? e.g. during explosive exercise when insulin concentrations are low?
During exercise glucose is needed and is burnt
@@shomusbiologyofficial yeah, but since any glucose uptake to muscle is via GLUT4 which needs insulin to translocate to the plasma membrane, how is the glucose moved from the bloodstream to the muscle?
Amizing ❤️
Thank you
Thank you sir.
I have one question that is what is different between power & strength & anaerobic power?
Thanks sir 😊
You're welcome
thnk u sir well explain
Can cori cycle result in liver glycogen formation?
Thankyou
You're welcome
Awsome👍
You're welcome
The problem is same glucose ka kia Hoga mean wo Kaisi energy dyga?
Which hormones control cori cycle??
Sir what about pH when lactic acid passes to liver through blood vessels??
good question
If the cori pathway is activated by the lack of oxygen and glucose is produced from lactate/pyruvate and put back in the muscle cells; when the cells still are lacking oxygen, how can the cell still produce ATP?
yeah thts the prob we r lacking of o2 ....
But still it is been converting into glucose which the muscle already had 🙄 if the muscle lacks ATP then there should be production of ATP not Glucose , that muscle already have glucose 😶 Sir please explain , I have not understood 🙏
Again tyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Thank you sir :-)
You're welcome
Thanks sir
thank u bhai
Hi suman, can u share ur Audio and Video Setup ???
+Asif Khan video Logitech c920. Audio ahuja lapel mic.
Thanks alot. If u can share a video of your setup as how you connect both the devices for the lecture purpose it will be very helpful. :)
Bro you said net gain of two atps in glycolysis but it's actually 8 ATP,s and 2 consumsd during the process🌝
No
Tx sir❤❤
sir please photosynthesis ki bhi video upload kro......
+Mansi Pal yes I will do that very soon
glucose is converted to lactic acid in the absence of oxygen
Best❤️🩹
Please speak in Malayalam in all the classes
I cant imagine who are those silly, which are disliking the video.
Your videos made my biochemistry exam simple ....thanku....sir....keep posting new lectures ...😊
Thank you 🎉
