- Опубліковано 12 січ 2020
- Chris, Nerida and I head out to catch some Tasmanian seafood. We collect big Abalone, massive Oysters and heaps of mussels for a delicious feast on the beach. We dive in bull kelp in freezing cold water where Great White Sharks live.
This is my video food journal or video food diary of delicious freshly caught foods in the wild, by the sometimes semi naked chef! #fishing #wildcook #catchandcook

Thank you, Andy for sharing looks like it was tons of fun even if you nearly froze. Like your friends too.
My wetsuit was 1/2 as thick as Chris’s. It was a fun day still.
Thanks Andy, now I'm starving!!! Well done mate.
Ha ha
Hi Andy
That's a nice feed of seafood, those oysters are massive and everything except the teeth on the abalone is edible.
Good to know. New video out if you haven't seen. ua-cam.com/video/5OuJQ08tpEY/v-deo.html
Chris is radd, you should have him in more videos. Cheers
I would like to, but flights cost like $1200
Wowww.... big oyster 🤩🤩🤩👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Nice
MMM I may have to go to Tasmania just for the fishing .I Never thought of Tasmania as a place to go fishing . THANKS ANDY.
i lived in tassie for a year, great fishing...abalone...lobsters...blue fin tuna...sail fish (wasnt lucky enough to catch one tho) trout..salmon big bream and plenty of flathead. fellow 4214 ;)
One of the things we are renowned for here is fishing ;) Im off to chase some bluefin this weekend myself ;)
It has great fishing all over
Myself I landed 1x bluefin, 1x albacore, and my mate who came with me got 4x albacore. Great time on the water, Albies are in close currently
Good to see you in my neck of the woods andy! Cheers for another quality upload!
You have a nice playground
I love seeing something a little different. Mussels and abalone are my favourite, and oysters are great too. Fresh shellfish is so good! I definitely felt sorry for you though, Tassie water is cold, so cold!
It took me well over an hour to warm up again
Only thing missing is a cold beer - great work guys 👍👍
I would have liked a warm beer, ha ha
Great episode! Keep em coming!
Will do
Awesome Catch and Cook video Andy !! I just got back from a trip up at Tasmania last weekend and boy did I have a great time I caught 2 squid and traveled around Tasmania and explored allot of places and I went to some Fishing stores to gear up but boy was it cold down their I hope you have a wonderful visit in Tasmania just like I did Andy !! Keep up the amazing work Andy !! Thanks for the videos Andy and how much effort and time you put into making these videos for us Andy !! Cheers William !!
I hope you cooked and ate those squid, the southern ones are yummy.
Fantastic Andy 👌 Tassie is cool but beautiful 😊 them oysters 😱
We had great weather, but the water is still cold.
Slipped down a float plane ramp in Strahan once...I feel those shivers :)
Even with a 3mm wetsuit it was cold
Now I'm starving. Thanks. Another great video.
Check out my new video
Seriously! Watching his videos make me disgusted with my own food (Doritos currently)
Great video Andy 👍😋. Those oysters where huge 😋😋😋
Sure are, but still good to eat
Thar looks so delicious. I want to try that massive Oyster.
They are. New video is live now, enjoy.
@@Andysfishing Can you send some Oysters to Perth [jokes] will have to try all that when we visit Tassie.
Love the content Andy even though you might have frozen for the vid. Something a little different and the oysters! Well done.
It was cold, but overall, an amazing day
Oh wow I should definitely take my family there. They would absolutely love this
Except the 14c water, ha ha
Andy, Is the water that cold all the time, or was it the time of year?
Awesome watch. Thanks
No worries
Yet another super fun video.
Thank you for the comment and cheers. Sorry for the late reply. I have been busy creating online fishing courses. In my last video I give a an update on it. Also note, I do see all new comments, this time I just got a bit behind.
Something I know I’ll never have but Andy that’s better than a 5 star meal at any fancy restaurant
Can't wait to do this again.
Dam wish we got oyster on our coast... lucky Andy
Check out my new video
Awesome! :)
I hope you liked the next one too.
Fantastic meal. Made me hungry.

Wow look so yum great video Andy so cool seeing a different part of the country reminds me of back home, the cold water, I felt cold for you 😅
I should have gotten out 10 minutes earlier.
rasanya ingin ikut liburanya.!!!!
pasti serru sekali kelihatan itu.
Brilliant vid, loved it
Fun to do as well
Hmm... Yummy 🤤👍
Yep
Thanks mate now im bloody hungry
Next time get an Ab iron made for the job. Fishery biologists determined that a cut to the foot will start the ab on his way to death. That's why here on the west coast of California we have to have a legal and proper tool. Our Abs get as big as 10 - 11 inches. Also our law requires one to replace undersized back on the rock. Flipping them over the side will end up killing most of them. Rockfish love Abs the moment that can get to the underside.
Just watched Smash Fishing. He was hunting abalone as well, but the size difference is amazing. The ones you guys were throwing back as too small would be considered absolutely gigantic where he was hunting (in Britain somewhere. . .)!
Probably too many people taking too many over the years.
The ones smash fishing catches in Guernsey are the green abalone that don’t grow bigger than 6 inches, he explains it all in the video.
The ones these guys got were Black lip abalone, Green lip and Brown lip grow pretty large too, i've seen bigger than these ones. The smaller Abalone species are called Roe, in WA the size limit is only 60mm and in my 10+ years of diving for Abalone, its in my opinion that Roes taste better, you don't have to slice them as you can just use a meat tenderiser on each side and cook whole.
Love your videos. You are awesome!!!!!
Cheers Aaron
So good mate
Cheers
Hi from Japan. Wow! The only thing missing from that oyster feast on Tassie is a crisp, Aussie Sauvignon Blanc! (Never mind, I'll have a glass, for you... ; ). Cheers!
Thank you for throwing yourself onto that Sav Blanc for me, ha ha.
The size of those oysters is eye popping! Funny how Chris seemed unaffected by the cold water.
He lives in Tassy and had a 5/6 mm wet-suit, mine was 3mm
But oh! Abalone! I want to do that SO bad! This is on my bucket list. But diving for abalone is going to be something I do soon!!!
Great stuff, I'd pick a calmer day next time and a bit warmer!
Great video Andy, but now I'm hungry 😁
Ha ha, thanks
Good stuff Andy
Cheers
Great vid andy!!
Thank you
16:52 lovely. Looked like a fun trip I would love to do some diving and eating all that shellfish
It's good fun
well now im hungry. looks like a good time.
It is always fun with Chris
Awesome video
Thanks!
Wow Andy, I'm surprised you did as well as you did with the temperature being from up north 😁
You and me both!
Daaamnnn. That oister waz huge. 9in acros....
I will have to go back one day
Yes I love this content keep up the great work looks fun I wish I could do something like this it would be nice.
Thank you
Wow!
They grow big down there
Awesome
Cheers
Finally down to tas 👍🏻👍🏻 I live in Dover good to see some content down in southern tas 👌🏻
A great area you have.
Epic!
Cheers
Great channel bro
Cheers
Daaaamn, never knew oysters grew that big. The muscles and abalone looked great too. Makes me want to visit Tassie, if it were only 25c, my body fails to operate under that temp these days. But for oysters that big, I'd risk it.
Great vid as always Andy.
Yes I hear you about the temperature, I almost went into hypothermia after that first dive
we use to have mussels twice that size on rocks at this secluded beach in my city.Within a year, they were all cleaned off the rocks.
That’s people being greedy for you.
far out they wee huge!!!!!!! thats insaine
Biggest I've seen
I got one of your hoodies for Christmas absolutely love it mate!
Great to hear
Do you sell hoodies? If so, where may I go to see them?
I subscribed , thanks 😊
Great to have you along.
Look very nice
Yes
Those are some awesome paua! (Maori for abalone) great content!
And tasty too, I have the shells at home now
@@Andysfishing I personally haven't tastes them before, but I'll take your word for it
What a great day!
Sure was
Yummmy
You got that right, check out todays recipe, it's super delicious! ua-cam.com/video/fSlzuLu8VWk/v-deo.html
wow them oysters/ mussels would have been great in a chowder, you are so lucky mate
There are so many things I should/could have done with them. I'll just have to go back!!!
Those oysters look amazing. You should try them with lemon and Tabasco sauce.
Nice
i wish i could have those oysters!!
And you can
Those oysters look so bomb
Yes, huge but still nice to eat
Hi Andy happy to see you getting bigger
Bigger?
Andy's Fishing Wild Cook I follow you since 30k subs
Couple of Balter beers each would make it beyond 5⭐️🍻
Sounds good
Hey Andy! You should try to use some of those mussels as bait. Back in Italy I used to fish with that and the fishes just go nuts! Also I've got some good recipes for mussels if you are keen to try some Mediterranean recipes I can give it to you.
Feel free to share your recipes. The bream would love open oysters too.
hi andy great vidio as always
Thank you coco
so delecios man..yummy
It’s GT season mate get in there!!!
They are always around
Hopefully we well be able to go ab diving on our coast soon
I hope so too
👌🔥
I hope you liked the next one too.
I'm not a fanatic of shellfish but you made me wanna try it Andy staaahhhp, joking one day I'll try it!
The abalone tasted nothing like seafood
@@Andysfishing I mean I love seafood besides clam - ish things :P
Welcome to our Tasmanian summer
Imagine winter!
501 like was deadly andy something different biggest oysters everr!!
Yep
The best tasting seafood comes from the cold waters in southern tassie. Be great if Andy came further south where the crays abs and tuna live. Best spot in the world..cheers for your vids mate.
I wish I had done that this trip. I will for sure next trip. Can’t wait.
What a great oyster stew those oysters would make! I love oyster stew. I put the milk on to heat, add Worcestershire sauce in to the milk, lemon pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, the lemon pepper has salt and pepper, and lastly-celery seeds. I can't think of anything else. I've never had a real recipe. I like to eat oysters, with the broth, with buttered crackers. I need to look for some containers of oysters.....
Sounds delicious
It's the only way I like oysters.
Hey Andy, what is a luderic? This is a whole new approach to your documentaries, deep down under, getting abalone, oysters, mussels, and viewing luderick.
Excellent! Great job buddy, I love it. What is a P-crab? I give it 5 out of 5
Luderic are a vegetarian fish, not sure if you have anything like it over there.
I live in tassie!!! It’s one of the best places to go fishing and diving, where are you at in Tasmania in this video?
East coast
55 degrees F is a very nice summertime water temperature here in south-central Alaska. Swimming weather lol...
I think 32c is a nice temperature when I'm at home, you would melt! Ha ha
nice
I hope you liked the next one too.
WOW! Craig Evans, The Fish Locker and Smash Fishing would be jealous of those monster-size abalone.....you can't get that size in the Channel islands.
I can’t wait to get back there.
Did you just say sharks and sh@&? Lol! You ARE human! Lmao!!!!!! My boy is old enough to appreciate the honesty😂🤣😂
Ha ha, thank you.
Yes I did, they freak me out.
We actually eat all of the abalone here in the Philippines (except the shell of course). ♥
I will try that next time. Can you show me a video of how you do that?
@@Andysfishing we just boil it on seawater and eat it on the shell. Usually we'd eat it with rice and some spicy soy sauce dip. 😊
