All seafood adhered to the local laws of Tasmania and abided by catch size limits, daily takes and no fish zones. Over the past 6 years I have made the commitment to no longer buy fish, so I only eat the fish I catch. Spearfishing is the most sustainable form of fishing on the planet, it is also the most environmentally friendly form of fishing.

Bring back the mullet!!!!!
Haha if this comment gets 50 likes i will!
God no. Clean is always best. I couldn't wait for you to cut it off. My misses n I both said you look so much better without it. Mullets are so gross. Lol
@@justchipsfishing8951 hahaha its a love or hate thing right
@@WetMammal I agree. The real question is, do you love or hate it? Lol
Speaking of Mullets, how about featuring one on the undesireables?
Those kinas looked really good.. Tasmania is such a beautiful part of Australia
It really is hey, like a perfect cross between Australia and New Zealand
can't wait to dive Tasmania in the future
You wont be disappointed!
Terrific episode Sam and Mon! Can't wait to see the next! 💥
Cheers bro! You’ve actually inspired me to have a crack at an ASMR Hike and Spear! Love your work bro
Man that curry sauce looks legit 🙌
Yeah boiiiii!
🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
As a Tasmanian and an ocean lover I like the fact you don't go in to much detail with the location. Also thanks for the tip with the ab cleaning I'll use it. Hopefully you guys got a dive in on the northwest. The water is very chilly but well worth now the ocean has cleared up due to two major manufacturing plants closing down.
Its important to be a gatekeeper of sorts, I try and protect spots as much as I can whilst filming incase one video ever goes viral. Amazing, unfortunately we didnt but im very very keen to come back to Tassie so perhaps theres my excuse! Thanks for watching
@@WetMammalThanks for the reply. UA-cam didn't notify me. Grrr...
Boat Harbour beach and Rocky Cape are to good spots for snorkeling and fee diving. The water is crystal clear on a good day and you may even spot a sea dragon.
@@Alberthoward3right9up ill put that on the list for next trip id love to see one! Thanks
Sea urchin cooked this way is awesome .. m gonna try this for sure !!! Loved the vid and Mon new Merch is dope too !!
Absolutely! Thanks for commenting glad you enjoyed the episode. I know right cant wait for mine to arrive!
Another awesome vid Sam! Another good way I've found to carry a measuring tool is to get the fisheries measuring sticker (the kind people stick in their boat) and cut just the measuring section off and stick it down the length of your gun. I did mine and my partners guns over 2 years ago and the stickers still look brand new! Mind you not sure how you would feel doing it on those beautiful carbon barrels😅
Thats a cracking idea! Ive got sharpie markings on my old gun doing the exact same thing
That was so good 😂😅 hahaaa, awesome video Sam! Missing the Tassie trip just a bit!! Also that pasta 🤤 hit different after a freezing day on the water!!!! Keep the videos coming 👏 💙
That pasta would have upset most of Italy. Amazing how a few fresh ingredients can make all the other ingredients appear gourmet.
Stay tuned for episode 2!
Good food everywhere.
Absolutely!
Awesome video mate! I reckon Tassie and the UK definitely have a lot of similarities! I get the same feeling in the sapphire coast too! Rolling green hills, small towns / villages etc.
Cheers man for suree! Dude i swear im back in Devon when i hit the Sapphire coast!
🔥 🔥 🔥
Thanks bro!
Lovely video.
Takes me back to some camping trips down at Cockle Creek and spending time spearing in St Helen’s almost a decade ago now. Hope to get back soon.
Thank you, Tassie is blessed with amazing spots all over I love it! Im sure it hasnt changed much and thats a good thing 🤙🏼
Love videos very much, do more 👏👏👋👋❤️💪
Thank you, you are in luck new video on Sunday!
@@WetMammal Yess Sirrrr🔥🔥
Bring back the mullet for sure
Thanks guys, loved the Tasmanian content. I have to try some urchin and an pasta. Looked fantastic.
Thank you! Honestly you have to try it, its sensational!
Awesome video! I never knew there's good spearfishing in Tassie, I'll have to get over there at some point
Thanks man, every state has fantastic spearing! Yet to find a bad one
Nice one mate. Looks like you enjoyed Tassie, and always good to see people taking and using urchin.
Thanks bro, honestly i hope people get experimenting with them they are such a tasty and often abundant resource!
Talking about Urchins’ recipe, there is a very simple way to do it here in Hong Kong… just add a little bit of spring opinion and ginger, then pull boiling oil on it. Now throw away the oil and you have very flavourful urchins to go with rice 😊
Okay this I will try very very soon as I absolutely love Urchin thanks for sharing
The quality of these videos are getting insane.
Thanks man! Finally invested in a camera set up thats not overly complicated and pulls off epic shots
@@WetMammal Looks so good bro, keep up the awesome work!
Hope I can visit Tasmania one day mate! 🤙
Absolutely add it to the list man
Winner winner, wet mammal merch for dinnaaaa
Haha!
🤤 🤤
Wait until you see what we cook up this week
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Cheers brother 🤙🏼
Congrats on the dirty 30, doing the exact same thing in 2 weeks!
30 and Tassie!
Thanks man, Its a beautiful place to be for it bro have a blast!
Awesome content! Pasta looks delish!
Thank you, it was insaneee!
Love that old epic wet mammal videos
Thanks! Im going to do more like this in the future as well keen to revive the undesirables too
Where abouts in Tasmania was this? I just came back from Tas. Toured a fair chunk of the east coast, weather was amazing, ocean looked the same as in your video. Bay of fires rocks , St Helens, Scamander, Bicheno etc. Was wishing i had my boat with me. Back home in Perth W.A now.
On the east coast man, beautiful spots all the places you mentioned. I imagine diving with a boat in Tassie would be soo good! Perth isnt bad though!
@@WetMammal i took photos of the boat ramp in Bicheno near the Lobster Shack. Kept saying to my family look at this, i would launch here so easy😂. Oh well, happy to be home with my boat😊
Entertaining video, do the sea urchins always have roe.
Thanks George, no there was actually one of the smaller ones that was empty. Always a shame when you find those guys haha
I've just moved down from Sydney. And I need a new wetsuit. Should I go for a 7mm or 5mm (open cell)? For all weather.
Could you tell us where it is? Or do you have any other dive spots because i have been looking for a while and cant seem to find any around the east coast thanks mate.
Random comment: does Mon have designs for fins? If not, she should do some kind of partnership with a fin company that does custom prints.
Love every comment this video gets to help with the Algo. She does custom fin art work for people. My very own fins in this video are her incredible creation in collaboration with Sommerso Fins 🤙🏼
How thick of a wetsuit would you say you’d need for September in tassy?
Honestly man im not the best person to ask i dove Scotland in a 3mm 🤣 I would say 5mm would be sweet for Tassie year round
Do you freeze the abalone whole or sliced?
I freeze whole, once removed from the shell and cleaned ofcourse 👍🏼
Luvly dive. What's all the orange stuff on the rocks ? 👀
Thanks, its a type of lichen that is bright orange its stunning!
@@WetMammal really cool! Looks like a split can of paint
@@coastncountryedits680 yeah its absolutely stunning! Especially next to the sapphire water
@@WetMammal Absolute scenes down in Tazie. Never been but looks unspoilt and raw. Happy Birthday mate and keep up the awesome vids
Hey mate,
Give the Pāua or abalone a go raw... thank me later 🙌
Loving the content my man
I actually cant believe I havent even thought of that. Will 100% give that a shot. Cheers man
@@WetMammal thinly sliced and a dash of soy
If you want hair tips I think a curly tash is the way forward.
🤣🤣 it would distract everyone at the workplace too much
Sacarlich store bought pasta with processed meat in it ? Dam shame looked such a good sauce 😢
Processed meat? Spinach and Ricotta aren’t processed meat man ???
@@WetMammal still not good my wife feeds those thing to the kids ! Self made plaster and I was on my knees I was envious the flavors where sensational until you put that in looked like glug ! Just saying ?
Sounds like a pommy
For a reason I lived in the UK for 10 years!
