kewl -- I might have to dive back into GW2. There again I probably won't have time as I'm diving into Pax Dei. Thanks for the news!
With the way things are looking, Pax Dei will be dead before it leaves Early Access. So you'll have TONS of time for GW2 ^-^
For my part, I’m having a blast on Teek in EverQuest! I don’t think any of these newer titles are going to lure me away.
I love learning about new MMO stuff..... while i train skills in OSRS lol
Definitely check out the playtest of Monster and Memories though, it's scratching that itch that teek is hitting for me too without all the content being known so well that deviating is a sing
I loved leveling in teek but now that’s done and I’m in need of a new game to play
GW2 already had the tech needed for this through Guild Halls! I'm glad, and surprised mostly, they decided to expand on their existing code.
Looking good for the game!
Great video ^^ ❤
Crazy to me that Pax Dei is about to release. I didn't even play the recent beta because the combat was so underdeveloped -it did not look fun. Early releases work when there is a lasting/fun gameplay loop. People are going to go in, build a house, quickly run out of things to do, and it's gonna bomb.
two weeks old video and I still feel like... "THAT DIDN'T AGE WELL!"
Love it!! Although p99 is my happy place for EQ
If they really are developing a GW3, then I'd like to think the purpose of suddenly reviving housing would be to test things out for the next game.
Pax Dei must desperately need income because that game is nowhere near ready for any type of public release. They literally just added a combat system to the game, which is why it "felt floaty."
The entire game is pretty much crafting/building, so those pricing tiers focused on limiting number of land plots are fairly egregious.
I 100% agree. As much as I want to join this alpha launch for cash, I will most certainly wait until I either win a copy or launch.
Great vid
Pax Dei sound interesting I would love to be a blacksmith or wood worker in a town, playing Teek atm having a good time.
Other than being invested in Monsters and Memories. EverQuest 2 origins will hold me over.
The fact that pax dei is a pvevp game and the combat feels like such an afterthought worries me. They said they wanted to test other things over the combat which to me just doesn't feel like the right move in a game where because it has pvp elements, the combat will be a focus
My man compared Ultima Online housing to GW2 housing.
That’s like comparing a lion to a stray cat.
The *new* housing. Haven't seen it just yet :) Very well could be, but I'll wait to see what they've got cooking first.
Hey there! Thank you very much for your efforts on the MMO front. I have watched many of your vids and appreciate your time. I have played many many MMOs and co ops overt the years and recently i have been casually playing Adventure Quest 3D. Honestly its pretty good and they are doing a good job with putting in the work. It has many core features and is easy to play. Can I request a full review for as a Casual MMO player?
Of course and thank you! Just to be clear are you wanting a review of adventure quest 3d specifically or for a video for mmos to play as a casual player?
@@Redbeardflynn Yes please! your view on it would be great! AQ3D is a surprisingly full featured light hearted MMO. It has many of the features of much more "serious" games and the Dev team has been aggressively expanding content and game play over the last year. Their website even has a goal progression roadmap which I have not seen in many games. It was what me, my wife and my 2 teen kids were looking for.
I'm late but I just wanted to say I appreciate your EQ ding bleeping.
Haha I was hoping someone would notice that.
First video of yours I've ever seen; well done, man. Charismatic, informative, likable, etc.
Like, comment, and sub from me; keep it up man! 👍👍
Thank you so much! Greatly appreciate the comment and very nice to meet you!
Pax Dei looks good and I will give it a go. As far as this next zombie game coming out, I have to give them credit for throwing their hat in the ring with a small team, but why would I play it if I can play Night of the Dead or even Fallout 4. They definitely have their work cut out for them.
Hey that's the game you recommended to me! I hope pax dei will turn out to be good. I really want a more free and unrestricted pve mmorpg experience.
Oh wow, I was ignoring the upcoming GW2 expansion since I've not even made it out of base game, much less done the 2 expansions I do have. But ... housing? Real housing instances that can be decorated? Well, that just changed that from a meh whenever buy to a I need it buy! That was a huge thing I'd been wishing for since I started playing the game. :D
You just made my day!
Thanks RBF my GW2 account is a monster last time I played was like a year ago. Might take another look, I am most looking forward to Dune and Horizon Zero dawn MMOs. Take care Peace
2:20 I hope it will rain a lot this Summer 😅
It rained here this morning!
@@Redbeardflynn Good start!
Also dropping is Aska June 20th. It's a survival not mmo. But still lol
I don't pay for "early access" games, especially when so many stay in EA for over 5 years. It's just a cop out to be unpolished and an excuse to charge testers instead of paying them. I buy finished games.
GW2 love the game, but the mount system. Wish they would change it, that's why I walked away from the game. IDK they had houses either.
I've played all the tests and I thought It was an amazing experience and I'm hyped for EA. ignore the negativity. I promise you'll enjoy it.
new world is most likely coming to console too
Always MMO news, and always MMO letdowns. And on Teek, waiting on spawns while I watch your vid.
I played the last alpha of Pax Dei and it's nowhere near ready for EA. It has absolutely no content other than the grindy crafting and limited building on a tiny plot. Don't buy it!
I'm waiting for Pax Dei to give us PvE servers. Not interested in world PvP at all.
I love housing. So hopefully they give us a way to opt out of PvP eventually.
Have fun & Enjoy Pax Dei. I will not be Touching that. If Tarisland is free to play I may give it a shot. Otherwise I be playing Dawntrail
Pax Dei's PVP element has me 100% unwilling to play it at launch. I've tested it a good bit and the crafting was...fine. World's fine. Combat's bad. I try to play virtually every MMO that launches and I just can't bring myself to put down money for it. Tarisland has also been a big disappointment in my testing thus far. They tried to do something different with heals, but it feels unrewarding. Everything in the game has felt pretty mediocre. I had high hopes thinking they'd do a good job ripping off WOW, but alas...they didn't.
You are 100% right with everything you've said.
ah how many games have ripped off WoW n failed? i have a better chance of visiting Andromeda galaxy than a wow clone being good
@@googleifyouseekayu It was China with a decent budget right after the WOW contract fell through and millions of Chinese accounts closed. I was hopeful. :)
Spot on and good constructive feedback
I enjoyed playing Pax Dei during the last test but I have to agree with many others that it is not ready for Early Access. Also including plots of land with different EA tiers is just gross for a game like this. As someone who was very interested in this game I think I will pass on it.
With all this stuff coming out soon, still you left out something with the list in the begining. FFXIV: DawnTrail Early Access is on 6/28, and full release on 07/03. I need more time, money, and HD space.
Oh yeah I mention dawntrail in this in passing but I go into more detail on it in the video just about a week ago so was trying not to rehash. Same with eq2 origins, mnm test...etc.
@@Redbeardflynn Understood. I just know that DT will impact anything new, esp mmo wise coming out. As many people are going to be hard into that for at least a month or two. Raid content doesnt drop til 2 weeks after the expansion launches. Only reason why i bring it up :)
Did you not watch the video before posting? Clearly mentions DawnTrail @ 2:04
@@rePAULsion he mentions it very breifly in a different context that as something new coming out.
I can't see how Pax Dei is going to see any success with a launch this early. Calling the combat bad is a massive understatement; the only functionality is spamming left click until something dies. Even Minecraft has better combat than Pax Dei. That game's about to speedrun fastest MMO shut down.
Pax Dei combat was soooooo ...bad. But everything else was amazing but combat is key for my enjoyment in games of any genre.
I'm probably in the minority but I hate player housing. It's one of those concepts that a lot of people always seems to want and many games try it but it just never works very well in practice.
You have your house or whatever and then.. no one sees it because they have no reason to care about it. Or maybe 1 or 2 of your friends sees it one time, and that's it. Wooooohoo
It's not the worst thing in the world , but it's a pretty crap bang-for-your-buck feature for devs to spend a lot of effort on. I would much rather devs spend their time on things that are actually going to get a lot of use in the game.
I will put a caveat that there are versions of housing that I think can be OK. For instance if you have an MMO with large guilds and then you have *guild* housing that would be very different (even more so if the housing can be invaded, although it's not 100% necessary). At that point you're not just sitting in your house alone, you actually have people interacting with each other.
Damn none of these games are on or will be on console.. we need more variety of MMORPGs for the pa5, ffxiv and eso ain’t good enough anymore
GW2 does seem like a game that might translate well to console if they ever went that route.
Was very interested in Pax Dei and participated in the tests and lovef it.
But the scummy tier system is something I can not accept. Paying for more plots of land with real money in a game like this is disgusting.
so 100bucks EA with some "pay to win" ish and then a sub when it launched? damn that put me off. good to know.
$40, $60 and $100 with plans for a sub OR other paid access at launch (whenever that is) yeah.
Reading between the lines it sounds like they're still considering maybe something other than just a direct sub which tbh is concerning this far into development. They announced plans a while back that the community didn't like, though, so they went back and looked at changing their monetization.
I was in the Alpha 2 testing and I'm happy with Pax Dei. I don't care about PVP and will not do it. The only fighting I did was against boars/deer. Seems ok there, especially once I was able to get a bow and metal tipped spear. I'm all about the crafting/gatherin/building. The buildng of Valheim and the crafting/gathering complexity of Final Fantasy 14? Yes please. But I understand the hate on the PVP in Pax Dei. As soon as I saw the death mechanic is the same as Valheim combining that with PVP, in my mind, seems a recipe for disaster. I die in PVP, lose all my stuff as it's looted by others. Then I have to go back naked. Or have more high-end crafted items already made to jump back in. Have to go in with a large group or just get gang banged and lose all your stuff. No thanks.
I feel like pax dei is diluted with the already released Bellwright, more of the same is a bit boring
free to play is the worse platform, better buy to play and based on sub
pax dei DOA not ready at all boring building game for now ....and Taris land just banned one of the main youtube video makers from their discord and spreading lies about him :/
Tarisland I've had low expectations for since it was first announced.
Can we please go back to the orginal nomenclature...
PVE = Players vs Everything
PvP = Players Vs Players
PvM= Players vs Monster
the person that decided to start using PVE for Everything was an idiot
There is no PvM. PvE = Players vs Environment. PvX = Players vs Everything. This is the lingo I have always seen.
@@pipz420 same
I don't want to sub. I have real bills to pay. My real life landlord keeps consistently raising my rent.
Sounds like you have more important things to do than sit around and play video games.
Yeah seems like gaming is not for you man 😅
