Offering this platform for Soul Train Legends to recap is truly beautiful. Hearing about Ms. Davis' travels further puts things in perspective about "branching out". There is more to the World than just here!
I don’t know who running this channel.. but Please keep it going. Dance was the replacement for the ceremonies we had together as a community as indigenous ppl. Dance 🪩 is our soul moving. It was one of the only times black and brown ppl felt free. Dance is spiritual and necessary to be a balanced human. The soul speaks when we move. We need soul train back in every city on a tour to see all the beautiful ppl that love to dance. I believe in the bottom of my heart this would reduce crime. This would be a great experiment to see can we shift our culture with dance 💃🏽 and music 🎶 ANYONE ELSE AGREE?
And one thing about the ST dancers is that they all are so talented and humble. Humility is like a lost art these days. People claim x, y and z so often without any competence.
I absolutely love these features. I grew up in the late 70/80’s and the dancers were a huge influence on us kids. Pat always had the prettiest Afro. It’s so cool to see how successful they became after the show. Bravo to Ms Patricia and all of the other dancers. ❤

Young enough to rely on her instinct to be authentic but old enough to be aware of the cultural significance of what she was doing so she could carry it with her throughout her life. I hear the joy and affection she has for those times in her storytelling.

These clips definitely remind me of my childhood and what shape me to this day as a professional performer.
.....me too....i became a dancer choreographer for music videos....commercials ....fashions...i did it for about 25 years...had a dance scholarship as a teen the whole bit because of all of those wonderful people on ST....
@@CuirPhotodotNetwow, that must have been fun, if really grueling, work! I've always admired creative people since I'm not exceptionally talented at anything in particular. It's amazing to see a studio, essentially a blank canvas, go from a group of people standing around to moving in perfect synchronization. To watch a choreographer go from an idea to actualized movement. It's just awesome.
Pat Davis is one of my favorite Soul Train Dancers. I always looked for her on the show and would focus on her moves, hairstyles and clothing 😍. Beautiful interview and glad to know that she’s dancing 💕
Wow! This bring back so many memories. I dance on Soul Train as well in 1975 - 1976. Unlike Patricia, I wasn't a regular dancer. But because I seen on the show it open avenues for me. However, I never told my correct age at the time I was too young to perform on the show. The production mgr. Approached me to become a regular; that's when they found out about my age. I had to set out for a year until I turned 16. In the meantime, In 1976 I became first runner- up for Miss Black America. To say the less, I never return to SoulTrain. But did get some gigs and request from likes to audition for Solid Gold dancers and Prince.
Patricia Ann Davis and Damita Jo Freeman definitely my two favorite female dancers on Soul Train... Davis can be seen in the movie Disco 9000 jumping out of the cake. Patricia and Vicki Abercrombie brought their fashion scene to the show....
Much respect to Patricia and the golden years of Soul Train. This Lady still got at her age! Truly one of the best influential programs I watched on Saturdays.

Thank you so much for not only archiving the dancers and moments that made "Soul Train" a truly special show in the first place, but for highlighting Ms. Patricia Davis, an extraordinary woman with quite a talent, blessings, and stories to share. Ms. Patricia (Pat) Davis, was one of my favorite dancers on Soul Train. Me and my three siblings were always glued to the T.V. every Saturday mornings looking for her. She had so much beauty, pizzazz, class and style. She was just so different with all her smooth dance moves. It's so nice to know that she went on to have a great career traveling the world, and meeting so many different people of many different cultures. She had so much talent! It's was just so much fun growing up and watching Soul Train. Continue to rest peaceful in heaven, Iconic Legendary King, Mr. Don Cornelius, thank you for all the fond memories of my childhood, with all the dancers coming down the Soul Train line, and so many funky band groups, and celebrities, the Soul Train scrambled board, and those Afro Sheen commercials. Those 70's were the best years ever!👑 ❤❤❤🥰💯🏆💃🕺🔥🌟🎤🎵🎧🎙🎼🎸🪗🎷🥁🎹💽😇🎉🙏🕊
