Lucy---very impressed with your growing technical "skillset" and professional "mindset". Free advice from a Stanford Business and IT Grad--add one more item to your thumbnail creation list: what viewer are you trying to capture? What will capture a viewer's attention in a field of hundreds of videos? DriveTribe/FoodTribe is the branding that gives you a more defined viewer universe, and now you have to pull them in and keep them with content and topics. I have watched all your Lucy videos and you are on the right path with true creativity + strong technical skills to be highly successful. I would predict 250K subscribers to your channel within 2 years.
So true. Thumbnails and the title are so important on YT. Great video Lucy. I liked how you explained the mind set of making a thumbnail. Found you channel last week and been enjoying the videos.
I only recently started adding thumbnails to my videos (not that there's anything worth watching on my channel, but it's good practice, haha). I'd say my favorite of the ones you showed was the lightning bolt one because making composite photos is fun.
Lucy, whether you'll read this or not I don't know but what I do know is that you're rapidly growing into a larger Success by every passing Day! You're the backbone or Drivetribe/Foodtribe and you do make it worthwhile so to speak. France is my favourite Country having visited their for 5 Days 4 years ago when i was 15.
Love how professional and through everything is! Im suprised that you use keynote - ive tried editing photos with it before and I find it super difficult, so massive props to you! Keep up the amazing work!
Good information, thank you! And thank you for not resorting to clickbait. I hate feeling like I’ve been lied to by a thumbnail. You’re doing great and we’re rooting for you!!
It was something I never used to do or be bothered with but I totally agree with your point about keep in going the thumbnail related,to the content. Also your blogs have got me back into making videos again after years of a hiatus, so thanks for that and keep em coming
Thanks, Lucy, for an enlightening video. I appreciate you paying attention to thumbnails in more sophisticated manner. I hate some channels using half nudity, over-amazed faces and - expecially - red rings to point out completely nothing on their thumbnails.
Great video Lucy, its nice seeing how you create the thumbnails and I have to agree that I mostly look at the thumbnail before the title, if the thumbnail looks good I watch the video. Also the thumbnail with the Bugatti/longboard was the best, the lightning bolt enhanced the picture.
Hi Lucy, Would you be able to do a video on how you chose your job and how you decided what job you wanted? It would be really interesting to see how you decided on your job and learn more about working at DriveTribe. Thanks!
Great tips Lucy, glad you don't intentionally do click bait, there's nothing more annoying! I agree there's a time limit with videos & thumbnails and sometimes you just have to accept it & upload 😉
Excellent video, as always Lucy. Never even thought of using keynotes for thumbnail pics before, but will certainly be giving it a try for my next video.
@@EverythingCarsandMoreECAM Lucy highlighted adding some zest to her thumbnail by composing in a lightning bolt from a different photo. So I figured from the name that Adobe Spark would do that for you automatically!
Please excuse the expletive, that was a ferkin great video, i am a very amateur you tube creator, and have just purchased Premier Pro which I am now learning, I did not realize the importance of the thumbnail and the work you put in to it, thank you ;)
I never really liked text on thumbnail .I found it over crowds the picture in the thumbnail . I also use quite a lot of UA-cam preview to choose whether to watch .
You seem like such a nice lady Lucy, we here in America would have welcomed such a nice person like you in 1620.... not so much today mind you, but back then.... yes.
Could you do an explainer on how you record sound please? This is one of the most tricky things to get right in video production and you seem to do a very professional job of it.
Some people put a thumbnail and when you watch the video the thumbnail picture is nothing to do with the video that drives me crazy it’s mins il never got back in my life
Everything about video editing seem so complicated and expensive. I was focused on the setup behind you for most of the video. Hardware must cost an arm and a leg, software has to be even worse.
I think the most important thing is, no matter what thumbnail you create, don't change it after your initial upload unless there was a serious error made. I can't tell you how freaking annoyed I've been to think there was new content, only to click on a completely different thumbnail and get a video I already watched. I see some channels change the thumbnail, like, 3 or 4 times in the first 24 hours. I no longer subscribe to those channels.
Problem on UA-cam is that you unfortunately need clickbaity tile and shitty thumbnails to get promoted by the algorithm and pushed in people's subscription feed
I love how methodical and detail-oriented Lucy is. No doubt her focus on quality is a huge part of the success of DriveTribe. Well done!
I couldn't agree more!
well said m8
The Drivetribe thumbnails are fantastic! Thanks Lucy!
The Bugatti/longboard thumbnail with the lightning bolt was very cool.

As someone who's current learning Japanese, just wanted to say I appreciate the katakana on your hoodie 🙂
Very informative! 💯Awesome Video!

Well done, Lucy! Keep it up.
Very useful and detailed. Good points about using the right tool for the job.
Great work Lucy; keep them coming
Professional experience, big love for this video and thanks for the few lessons🤙🏼
Nice video Lucy! Definitely an interesting topic.
Really good and very interesting thank you Lucy.😀

Didn't know that thumbnails are that important!! Thank you Lucy, as always👍🏻👍🏻🙋♀️💜
Never really thought about thumbnails before, really fascinating video.
Good information, thank you! And thank you for not resorting to clickbait. I hate feeling like I’ve been lied to by a thumbnail.

This is very helpful information.
No Lucy, we watch your stuff because of you, not the thumbnails. Thanks for sharing and helping us.
Agree with you on that
Creepy af!
@@ChandraKanth7 it was more a compliment on her content, but that’s where your mind went 😂

I like your thinking.. As so many, I hate click-baity thumbnails with only the thinnest connection to the video... or none.
That's cool.

Great description of the value of the thumbnails and titles!
good stuff
Interesting Educational and as always Entertaining , Thanks Lucy
I always heard different channels talk about their thumbnail picture, but never really knew what went into it. Thanks
Thanks for that. You put much more thought into the thumbnail image than I would.

Learning the Thumbnails with Lucy. It may improve my Thumbnails as this is an interesting video.
That's good information Lucy, a lot of UA-camrs can learn from this.
Using a slideshow software to make thumbnails, how clever!
👍👍👍
Wonderful video thank you for learning us stuff .You the best😊.
You are amazing! keep it up :)
Great tips, Lucy. I never thought to use Keynote, I have been using Canva a lot recently to do the ones on my crafting channel.
Great video. Keep it up. I agree thumbnails are very important. I use Adobe spark. It is very easy to use and it’s free.
And judging by the name I guess it always adds a lightning bolt?
