Best all round sounding amp on the market. I play in a metal band, also in country rock, top 40 and a Gary Moore Tribute band. This amp never ceases to amaze me. I "always" get positive comments from not only the punters but also venue in house sound engineers.
I see some negative comments and I guarantee it's from people who don't own one because if you did you'd be blow away. I just unpacked my EVH 5150iii 2x12 and plugged in tonight. Well packaged, the amp itself is solid as can be. You can literally get any tone you want out of it from an awesome clean practice tone to a metal tone and everything in between. It comes with wheels and the footswitch (sucks when they ask for more money for that ). if you buy this amp you'll be playing through professional equipment. It has plenty of power for live performances (especially mic'ed through P.A.) and easy to get around. I always research anything that's a serious purchase and bought this amp based upon the limited info I could find and I'm glad I did! I haven't owned a 2x12 close to this since 1991 when I had a Marshall JCM800 2x12 tube amp and this amp kicks that amp's ass. You won't be disappointed. P.S. I also own an ENGL Powerball 2 100watt & Peavey Vypyr 3 VIP 1x12 modelling combo amp. The EVH 5150iii 2x12 is literally right there with the ENGL head if not better due to the versatile tone, power, and portability. I love this amp! I would like to buy another one and leave it packed up in the box. this amp will be sought after. Well done EVH! If you want the ultimate practice/gigging/long term easy to use and pro tone versatile killer amp buy this, you won't regret it!

If you're looking for an amp with effects and to spend less the modeling amp is the way to go, if you're looking for a powerful amp to gig, practice or jam go with the EVH, hope that helps
I've owned the 5150iii 50w head for years so I'm not really here for any reason, but holy hell is it nice to see someone actually capable of demoing all 3 channels in their own regard. So tired of people not playing screaming leads on an amp with a channel designed for screaming leads! now I just gotta retube mine lol
I don't care much for modern metal stuff but this guy can give you one hell of a demo on whatever he uses, definitely one of the best demo guys out there
Love this little Amp I am buying one to take to the Philippines next year to visit my wife's family. Leaving my stacks heads and 4x12 cabinets home this little amp has a nice low end amazing gain great clean tone
I have just started recording with the 100w EVH 5150 lll half stack, the tones out of these amps are amazing. I've got a 82 Strat with a hand wound 1985-6 Dimarzio super distortion at the bridge and a bill lawrence in the center. It sounds amazing. Eddies legacy, besides Wolfie of course. His playing and singing have inspired me.
I get the buzzing noise and hissing on the blue channel, also no sustain and I've tried four different guitars including two EVH Wolfgangs. Any suggestions would be great
A lot of people say this thing hisses too much. Even when he's playing on the clean channel you can hear some hiss. Too bad... this amp puts out a ton of gain with a good amount of control too.
One question.... Will this SOB push air if needed too. Like should I give up my Peavy 5150 half stack for this little Machine? I'm concerned for live gigs

Usually against large 2x12 combos like this because they are hell to move around but the casters and the addition of the power attenuation definitely help balance out the downside of mobility. Surprised to see the combo with the G12M Greenbacks instead of the G12H 30. Would have thought that they would have had the G12H 30's to match the 1x12 and 2x12 combos.
ehh it cost quite a lot but entering my old peavey head 5150 maybe when i will find one i can take ... so you will take the black one instead of white .. .cool
yeah but not all... And Eddie does demo the Evh Gear. He plays the Evh Guitars, Evh Amps and the Evh Strings live. which is better because that way the sound is most likely un edited.
as long as i can make it sound like the 100 head and the cab. i might get this. it seems cheaper. then throwing out 1,700 for the 100 watt head and another 999 on the cab. 1,499.00 for this aint bad at all

i have a 1x12 i didn't realize how huge these combos are omg huge, mine doesn't have the black oval evh badge on the control panel either . did I say huge yet. only problem i don't like is how chan 1 and 2 share same gain and volume, this is a big miss if you ask me ! there is a mod avail now but poor design if you ask me ! thoughts ?
Thinking about selling my fender 65 reissue 2x12 for this. Bc the clean channel has a reverb know n sounds just as clean as my 65 reissue.. with the evh I can rock out also.. can't do that with the 65 reissue really, at least can't get a solid crunch rock/hard rock metal tone.. the clean channel on the evh sounds amazing! Plus I got my 65 reissue bran new, from a consignment deal n I paid 1400 cash tax n all. The local music shop of 80 plus years sadly went out of business during covid so I made out well bc with tax n all it should have been normally about at 2300 bucks. Ouch! So ya.. I did great n besides form cleans I'm just in love with the roland jc 120.. have been since I 1st heard it back in the late 80's.

It seems to have great destortion and lead tone for rock and metal. I wish they would have tested out some other guitars through it to show the amps versatility since Eddie is trying to promote this as an amp that can be used for all styles of music.
It's a real shame they took a metal approach to this demonstration, this amp sounds amazing with a Strat and can play SO many different styles of music.

Chris is a very good player, however, his style and sound does nothing to highlite the true great sounds that you can get out of this amp I purchased this amp before it was released and finally reveived it 5 months later and it is simply awesome.

Not true at all do you how many Death Metal bands use the 5153 and the Peavey 5150 they're the go to amps for just about everything Eddie designs his amps for every one, not just people who only want to play VH.
EVHgear makes the argument how versatile their stuff is, but instead of just avoiding the cliche VH licks, Chris plays 99% metal and avoids everything else. I've yet to hear this amp excel at country, which has been brought up so many times.

U can buy a power attenuator for any high wattage amp for only $100. Nice selling trick. Not saying this is a bad amp but dont act like adding a power attenuator is some amazing addition.

This Amp is Overkill: How many players really need THREE Channels??? The Attenuator is a good idea (I wish more amps had them). but then they should have also made this in a more compact " Club Model "; TWO Channels that SHARE the EQ, 20-25 Watts, 2x10 Speakers. -That's my little rant...

I have the 50wt head 2x12 cab and its a noisy amp, buzz hum hiss its all there. Sounds killer. I have noise suppressor coming and see if it helps.

The Attenuator is a good idea (I wish more amps had them). but then they should have also made this in a more compact " Club Model "; TWO Channels that SHARE the EQ, 20-25 Watts, 2x10 Speakers.
