Best all round sounding amp on the market. I play in a metal band, also in country rock, top 40 and a Gary Moore Tribute band. This amp never ceases to amaze me. I "always" get positive comments from not only the punters but also venue in house sound engineers.

I like these metal demos. Pretty sure most of us are here to use it for extreme gain purposes.

I see some negative comments and I guarantee it's from people who don't own one because if you did you'd be blow away. I just unpacked my EVH 5150iii 2x12 and plugged in tonight. Well packaged, the amp itself is solid as can be. You can literally get any tone you want out of it from an awesome clean practice tone to a metal tone and everything in between. It comes with wheels and the footswitch (sucks when they ask for more money for that ). if you buy this amp you'll be playing through professional equipment. It has plenty of power for live performances (especially mic'ed through P.A.) and easy to get around. I always research anything that's a serious purchase and bought this amp based upon the limited info I could find and I'm glad I did! I haven't owned a 2x12 close to this since 1991 when I had a Marshall JCM800 2x12 tube amp and this amp kicks that amp's ass. You won't be disappointed. P.S. I also own an ENGL Powerball 2 100watt & Peavey Vypyr 3 VIP 1x12 modelling combo amp. The EVH 5150iii 2x12 is literally right there with the ENGL head if not better due to the versatile tone, power, and portability. I love this amp! I would like to buy another one and leave it packed up in the box. this amp will be sought after. Well done EVH! If you want the ultimate practice/gigging/long term easy to use and pro tone versatile killer amp buy this, you won't regret it!

@@jorgeguitar2540 sorry I didn't seen this until now. They're different, one is a modeling amp and the other is a combo tube amp. If you're looking for an amp with effects and to spend less the modeling amp is the way to go, if you're looking for a powerful amp to gig, practice or jam go with the EVH, hope that helps

I have just started recording with the 100w EVH 5150 lll half stack, the tones out of these amps are amazing. I've got a 82 Strat with a hand wound 1985-6 Dimarzio super distortion at the bridge and a bill lawrence in the center. It sounds amazing. Eddies legacy, besides Wolfie of course. His playing and singing have inspired me.

Usually against large 2x12 combos like this because they are hell to move around but the casters and the addition of the power attenuation definitely help balance out the downside of mobility. Surprised to see the combo with the G12M Greenbacks instead of the G12H 30. Would have thought that they would have had the G12H 30's to match the 1x12 and 2x12 combos.

Thinking about selling my fender 65 reissue 2x12 for this. Bc the clean channel has a reverb know n sounds just as clean as my 65 reissue.. with the evh I can rock out also.. can't do that with the 65 reissue really, at least can't get a solid crunch rock/hard rock metal tone.. the clean channel on the evh sounds amazing! Plus I got my 65 reissue bran new, from a consignment deal n I paid 1400 cash tax n all. The local music shop of 80 plus years sadly went out of business during covid so I made out well bc with tax n all it should have been normally about at 2300 bucks. Ouch! So ya.. I did great n besides form cleans I'm just in love with the roland jc 120.. have been since I 1st heard it back in the late 80's.

I agree about the down tuning, we all know that Eddy down tunes a half step. Chris is an excellent player, however, he doesn't spend enough time on clean tones and rock tones. All that death metal drives me nuts. Don't get me wrong I love heavy metal.

U can buy a power attenuator for any high wattage amp for only $100. Nice selling trick. Not saying this is a bad amp but dont act like adding a power attenuator is some amazing addition.

It is when most amps don't come with one built in like this one.

I wonder if I get a prison-like tattoo of a lightning bolt on my hand I can magically transform into a hard core metal guitarist and finally shed my VHness? Well, maybe I need to drop tune, shave my head and grow a Kerry King beard...Ya! THEN I'll be metal! Clearly The only people that MAY be interested in this amp are NOT VH fans... But METAL fans. One finger Limp Bizkit drop D powerchord mongers! ***NOTETO Eddie*** Get yer fukin arse out and demo the gear you want me to buy!

that shitty drop D tuning and the metal shredding all the time, really doesnt serve the demo and showing how versatile this amp can possibly be...

This Amp is Overkill: How many players really need THREE Channels???
The Attenuator is a good idea (I wish more amps had them). but then they should have also made this in a more compact " Club Model "; TWO Channels that SHARE the EQ, 20-25 Watts, 2x10 Speakers.
    -That's my little rant...
