Hi Stacy. I'm Portuguese. Nice video, but some things aren't right: 1 - the Lisbon sidewalks are made of polished stone, not tiles. 2 - The elevator it's called - elevador de Santa Justa and it was made by Gustave Eiffel (same guy that did the Eiffel tower in Paris). If you go up, not only you'll have a magnificent view of Lisbon, but you also will be in another part of the city, also very nice. 3 - It's not Rosario Square, it's Rossio. 4 - You can also ask a Portuguese to take pics, most of us speak English. Welcome to my beautiful country. Enjoy your stay 😘

Same, I don’t like an egg custard. I don’t like eggs but when I bit into the pastel da nata, yum. I also had a pastel da nata coated with chocolate. Delicious! I am surprised I didn’t gain any weight on vacation but I was walking 8 hours a day, up and down hills on 95 degree days.

Stacy, the comment the French ladies made regarding the " the black attitude and look of French blacks " is right on mark. BTW, I am glad you dismissed the fake persona and remained your true self; lovely , communicative and fun!

18:32 - It wasn't made that way, there's a reason why it's "outdoors": the roof caved in during the 1755 earthquake that almost destroyed the entirety of Lisbon and after the city was rebuilt, they decided it wasn't worth restoring, so they left the ruins like that. I'm sure it was explained in the brochure they gave you there. 😉

You pronounced Jorge correctly, the Portuguese say the letter "J" like the English (not like the Spanish) Jorge = George.

Nice vid, what are the rent prices like in downtown Lisbon?

Great question! I use a site called The Earth Awaits (dot) com to research rent and other prices. I only spent 3 days in Lisbon this time, so I don't know about rent downtown. Hope that helps!

Hi. May I ask a question? I shall be travelling to Portugal in May. Arriving in Lisbon, then travelling to Porto. Should I purchase the train tickets in advance of my arrival in Portugal?

Dear Americans, please don't stay only 3 days in Lisbon, or in any large city in Europe. You need a lot more time to really see the city. You spend so much money hopping around from city to city just to get yourself exhausted and only see less than 5% of what is there to see.

Is it the long history of African slavery in that city that attracts African Americans?

What a ironic , racial comment. Maybe, you thought it was amusing, but to judge bevarior stemming from historical norms dating back hundreds of years ago is cheap ,shallow and reflects your lack of history.
