Really loved this ❤️, I’m getting ready for my own trip to Lisbon at the end of year so I love watching other solo travellers experience the city. And girl, please drop a makeup tutorial 🙏🏾 every single look you SERVED!
Omg, I was in Portugal the last part of November/ early December and made the exact same mistake getting on the wrong train on my way from Sintra. Was so lost and overwhelmed but eventually made it back to Lisbon with the help of sweet angels, hours later.😅 Really love your video, so peaceful and inspiring.
Hi Briana! I'm so happy you enjoyed the video. Thank you so much for watching. The train systems were definitely a challenge , to say the least😂😂. But the Portuguese are so friendly and helpful! I'm glad you too were able to make it back to your destination
Hello Chelsea. I was in Lisbon last year. Loved it. Walked all over. Took the metros. Buses. Went to Sintra. Your Palace of Pena. The Belem waterfront. The vibe is different. I wish I would have stayed longer than 4 days. Portugal is better than the life I've been living here in America. Lisboa is so friendly and hospital. The hills will work up your heart rate for sure. Lol. Great cardio. Great food. Great people. Great atmosphere. I'm thinking about moving there. You did a great job for your first video. I enjoyed watching. I like the video and I subscribed. Please keep the vlogs coming! 👍🏾
Hi Sharod! Thank you so much for subscribing, Lisbon truly is a great place. The overall vibe of Portugal is definitely different 😂 If you're thinking about moving you should add the America and friends PT page on facebook! They have tons of information in regards to moving to this amazing country
@@chelseaulendo I'm on POC on Portugal and Black in Portugal groups. Both groups are great. They have a lot going on there as far as community venues and activities. And others sharing their experience living in Portugal. Pretty cool.
Omg, I FELT you with that train station worry! ❤ Thank you for this video. It’s so informative and comforting as I deal with my solo travel anxiety! ❤😂
Hi. Great video of Lisbon. My wife and I moved to Lisbon a year ago and it looks like we were in the same spot as you on the same evening. The guy dancing in the red shirt @ 34:58 is also in our video 😂. Truly a small world!!!
Thanks for sharing your beautiful video!! I was in Lisbon and Sintra in December and will be back in about 4-weeks. This time, it will be Lisbon & Porto. With regards to my trip to Sintra, I purchased a 3-days Lisbon Card that allowed me to ride all trams, local trains & buses at no extra charge. Additionally, I used it on the train to Sintra and on bus #434 from Sintra train station to Pena Palace, and on the 435 bus to Quinta de Regaleira. All of that doesn’t include the discount entrances to museums.
You remind me of my niece. It’s funny I also got lost comings back from Sinatra a lovely lady made sure I got on the right train, so very kind. LOVE Lisbon have been there 3 times and going back in September to go to school to study Portuguese. Then I will spend 10 days in Albuferia, great beach area. I mostly always travel alone so I will subscribe to see where you go next. All the best for the new year………..🤗🇨🇦
Thank you so much for subscribing 💜 I think it's incredible that you're going to study Portuguese in Portugal!! The next time I visit Portugal I'll definitely have to check out Albuferia (and Algarve)
Loved your video and great job on your first! We spent two weeks in Portugal last year and absolutely loved it! Loved seeing you retrace many of our footsteps! You did a fantastic job on you vlog. Best wishes on your future videos!
Hi Sami! Thanks so much for watching. I’m glad you enjoyed it. I will definitely make more travel videos! Consider subscribing so that you don’t miss any of them ❤
That's my biggest fear with traveling solo is getting lost and finding no one to help me get to where I'm going because of language barriers or just no one willing to help but that's life we pray and God will always direct our paths and short things out Portugal is on my list thinking about going in November.
Lisbon was absolutely beautiful! I highly recommend it if you do get to go. And yes, getting lost was a little scary 😂but the locals were very helpful in getting me on the right track
Thanks so much for sharing your trip to Lisburn. I'm planning a 4 day solo trip in early June, but considering I may need to stay longer to really benefit. Blessings to you 😇😊
Hi I just discovered your channel and I am interested in going to Lisbon this summer or late into the beginning of fall. I love watching the video because you were very informative and I'd like information that you can use when you go to different places. I'm still a little afraid to take a solo trip I'm 62 years old and thinking about doing it this summer and I really was thinking about doing it in Portugal.
Hi! Thanks so much for watching, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I would say that Lisbon is incredibly friendly and safe and the locals are very helpful. If you do decide to go, I hope that you have an great time!
Great video ! & thank you because I am also vegan and black, so now can’t wait to go. Which restaurant did you go to in the very beginning of the video that you mentioned was the best food ever? & how was the weather when you went?
This was really helpful! I'm traveling to Lisbon next week and planned on doing a day trip to Sintra as it was recommended to me. I am directionally challenged, so hoping I won't get confused with the train going back. Besides the castles, are there other aspects of Sintra you would recommend exploring? You also mentioned a app you used for translation, but I didn't see it in the description, would you mind sharing?
Hi Gbemi, That apps used for translations were DeepL and Linguee! As for Sintra, I only views the castles, so I cannot recognize anything other than that 😂 I hope you have an incredible time during your trip and thanks so much for watching 💗

I returned from Lisbon recently after spending five nights there. It was ok, didn't blow me away, I wouldn't go again. It didn't help that I got robbed outside Arroios metro station the day before I was flying home. That was my first and last visit to Portugal. Re what you said about the local people being great...from my experience the only nice people I met were other tourists, the locals looked really miserable, they had no manners, and people walking their dogs were letting them shit everywhere and didn't pick it up.
Hi, loved watching your video. I'm headed to Lisbon in June. What is the name of the hotel where you stayed. Looking for accommodations always stresses me out. That said, were you stayed, looks really cute and comfy.
Hi Koalani! Thanks so much for watching the video, I'm glad you enjoyed it 😊 I stayed at a hotel called Hotel Lisboa and it was very cute and right in the heart of lisbon with walking distance to the train and other hot spots in the area
Hope you don't mind me saying - your facial features speak of Eritrean or Ethiopian heritage, with their influence of Arab/Middle-Eastern genetics. Since the Moors built the Moorish castle in Sintra in the 10th century...perhaps some of your ancestors once upon a time were standing on that very same spot! Speaking of: "what were the people of the past thinking when they were once standing at the same location?"! I find that so interesting, too!
Hey! You should be fine. Most people speak English here , and in the off-chance that you come across a situation that requires you to speak Portuguese, you can use apps like DeepL to translate.
Hi Sana, I brought a reasonable amount but honestly cash was only needed in Sinatra to pay the drivers. I didn't really need it anywhere else as my card worked just fine. I hope you have an amazing solo trip 💗
Hi! I’m planning to visit Lisbon and Porto. Can anyone recommend hotels (not Airbnbs) that are very nice and also welcoming to melanated individuals. Thank you.
Hey there 👋🏽 I stayed at Hotel Lisboa and had a phenomenal experience. It was in a perfect location as it was practically right in the heart of the city. Walking distance from main attractions as well as about a 3 minute walk to the train which I took to Sintra
What's the app that you used for translating Portuguese? I'm having a bit of difficulty finding resources for learning European Portuguese. Everything is for Brazilian Portuguese 😫
