Will YOU be enjoying the midnight sun with us on our Summer Solstice Yacht Party June 21st? 👀☀
Will be hiking in Landmannalaugar that day and staying in the South that night. Not sure if there would be any special event there. Will try to stay up past midnight to experience the summer solstice.
Hi, cant find that event on your website. I will be in Iceland on June 21st, and very interested to join that event.
I will be in Iceland in 4 days. First time traveler
You are very good at what you are doing! You make travelling to Iceland easier for those who do not have much time to do the planning.👍
Wow, thank you so much for the kind feedback ☺️
Yes!!!!🩵🧊
Alright, I am completely sold here. I am buying my tickets NOW! This is easiest one of the best guides I have ever seen :) Thanks a lot!

Wow, this video on traveling to Iceland is simply amazing! I've always dreamed of visiting this beautiful country, and now I feel like I have all the expert tips and tricks to make the most out of my trip.
I love how the host is so cheerful and motivating, making me feel like anything is possible when it comes to exploring Iceland. From the stunning landscapes to the friendly locals, I can't wait to experience it all for myself.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience with us. You've truly inspired me to book my trip and make unforgettable memories in Iceland!
Thank you Noki! ❤
I'd just like to say... all of the info he provided is so accurate. Plz see my comment. 😊
A land of midnight sun, ice and snow
Where the year-round hot springs flow
Summer fields so green
Whisper tales of gore
Of how they calm
The rides of war
They're your overlords
So now you better stop
And rebuild all your ruins
For peace and trust
Can win the day
Despite all your losing...
In my bucket list for sure. Thanks for the info.
This is so insightful. I am currently planning a 30th birthday trip for me next year and this just gets me so excitedddddd, I wanna be 30 already. 😂 I hope to see you there in July next year! But until then, I will be daydreaming, and planning my Autumn 2024 holiday first 🤣
Great Video Dan!
Thank you Wade! 🥳
ICE LAND ❤❤
I 'm sure the drinking water in Iceland is the best drinking water. thank you for the great infor.
I love Iceland 🇮🇸I am looking forward to booking the food tour for the group I am taking there in August. I love the easy going and fun personalities of the Icelandic people which definitely comes out in this video as well. 😊
VUHU!! 🇮🇸
We can't wait to see you in August, Tara. You'll be visiting during such a fun time! I'm sure you'll love it ❤️
Interesting video
Thanks for sharing very informative ❤
Glad it was helpful! 🧡
Thank you, fantastic information
Thank you. I’m from Malaysia and I will be heading to the UK for my studies. Iceland is on my list for the summer holidays 😊
Great video. I'm coming next Thursday but arrive at midnight from Prague.I'll only have Friday and Saturday as full days and a morning on Sunday. What do you recommend? Is it possible to see a volcano? Golden circle?
Great tips, thanks! 🙂
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome video
outstanding video, thanks for all the tips and excellent information!
Glad it was helpful!

Excellent advice. 2024
You asked. Dan, for topics to deal with in future videos. My suggestion/request is Icelandic music. As well as internationally known artists such as Víkingur Ólafsson & Olafur Arnalds, there is hopefully more local musical talent that we can access during a visit.
Makes me more excited about my visit to Iceland in September 2023. Lucky to have bumped to this video. Thank you soooo much for this very informative vid.
Thank you for the kind words. Glad my video came ln handy!
this video just helped me decide my next trip. Looking forward to this since it's going to be my first solo trip and these tours look and sound amazing!
Great info, but the music is very strong and annoying..
THE BEST video on Reykjavik I have seen. I now feel super well informed for my visit next week.
Wow man. Thank you so much for such a great comment. I'm really glad this video was useful to you. I hope you have a blast on your trip next week!
- Dan :)
That sounds interesting
I love Iceland and would like to work there over the summer
Woa hermoso ❤
Nice
Awesome video! I will be in Iceland in July 2023! Looking forward to joining some of the tours you mentioned!
I literally change our small itinerary for our 2nd day in Iceland and booked this Food tour!! haha So exciting! See ya'll in July!
Haha that's amazing!! We can't wait to see you! 🥳
Hi from Brisbane Australia. What a beautiful place, I would love to visit Iceland one day.👍
Wow great information!! I am planning to visit Iceland next September!! I will definitely use your links!
Brilliant video. I am arriving in Reykjavik on the 20th June for 4 days and I can't wait 🤩
thanks for the info! we are flying to reykaflik on July 10th, good job!
Wait a minute, me too! From where are you departing? Ottawa?
@@TerrificCupid40 No, were departing from Boston Logan International, at 11:25PM
@@ForTheMemes-tk6fc i see, for me from ottawa then to toronto then reykjavik. hey, who knows, we might see eachother! i will randomly say "for the memes" and hollow knight pfp in public. u say agor i guess.
We went for a week with our grandchild and daughter. We travelled from Stockholm Sweden so its a 2 h 30 min flight. Everything is very Scandinavian well organized. For you veggies as me and my husband there are good options. Iceland is also very welcoming for us gay people and that is also a Scandinavian standard. Blue Lagoon is a very special experience, i could stay there for days. Expensive not that much. One strange thing that we all saw was the lack of curtains in the windows. If you are in to arts and all sorts of culture there are a lot of things to do. The benefits of the city is that you can walk and there are good communications by bus, sadly there bus app wasnt that smooth working. So my take overall Yes go there
How is Iceland in October?
Great video.
And on a side note, salute to Iceland on it's attempt to ban forced male circumcision.
Cheers.🍺
😮excelente aprendizaje
When i travel to Iceland ill go for the beautiful nature, got 2 good tips anyway

unlike me Arrived in Iceland on 18th June rtn to UK 21th June 6am I missed out both special events in Reykjavik.
if you arrive early you could get the bus to the Blue lagoon direct from the airport. I've great time here maybe next year.
Excellent Video. Thank You. Hoping to visit end of August.
You are so welcome! We sure hope to see you then 🫶
Quick Question. We were planning on coming in early October. What are your thought on that time of year. Also, will the discount code of SUMMER work on the tours you mention? Thanks much!
Thank you for your perfect guiding. lots of thing that I didnt know was good to know , you told in this video.thank you!!
Thank you so much for taking the time to watch! We hope to do more videos like this in the future so stay tuned! ☺️
Iceland is incredible, was there almost ten years ago but it's still one of my favourite places because of now diverse the experiences can be. Volcano, ice, waterfall, geyser.. Plus the puffins are super cute. I didn't get to enjoy food because I was young and broke back then, so hopefully I can join your food tour next time!
How fun to hear that! We sure would love to have you on a foodie adventure when you come back :)
Waoo
I will second and third the water. Bring a water bottle and fill it anywhere . Don't lay a massive premium for bottled water. I was there in April 2024,, spent nothing on water. 😊
Great way to do it! 🥳
This has just encouraged me to go to Iceland sooner than later ❤
Thank you so much for the kind words! We hope to see you here soon!
@@WakeUpReykjavik. coming soon 😍
And have booked with you a few tours!!!
A very excellent and useful video. I appreciate it.
Also, this fall, you should make another video about winter options, such as New Years fireworks, and where a tourist can go try out a Thorrablot feast in February.
Thank you so much Bruce for the nice comment and great suggestions! I really appreciate it and I’m really glad you enjoyed the video. The video suggestions have been added to the to-do list! They’ll all be made soon - I just need to figure out a faster way to edit these videos. 😅
Hi Dan, your videos are so awesome... very informative, detailed, witty, & light-hearted! Prior to my trip I watched many, but yours answered all my questions from transportation expectations to tours. Because of this, I ended up purchasing all 4 tours with WUR. I will continue to recommend WUR to anyone thinking about visiting Iceland!! Thank you again for such an AWESOME, WONDERFUL experience!!
Wow, thank you so much Denise! I’m so glad that my videos have been useful to you and that you enjoyed your stay! Your comment made my day ❤️❤️🇮🇸
Warmest regards,
Dan :)
I'm looking at doing the exact same! I'll be there a week so thinking I can fit in most of your tours! Going to E-mail you guys to see what would be best. Thank you for such an amazing video! @@WakeUpReykjavik.
Going to Iceland for the first time next week and this video was extremely helpful! Thank you!!
Awesome to hear Monica! 🥳🇮🇸
Thank you for the video! I'll be flying to Iceland with my friends in about 13 days. Thank you for all your tips and advice!
Thank you for watching 🥳
Thank you so much for this valuable video. I went ahead and booked your food tour as a result.
Wonderful news! Thank you so much for the kind words, I'm so glad you're signed up for our tour. We can't wait to see you and I have no doubt you'll love it! ❤️
thanks for the great tips. We will be spending a four day layover from Barcelona during solstice before continuing on home to Alaska. Really looking forward to experiencing Iceland.
That sounds awesome Thomas. I hope you have a great time here! 🇮🇸🥳
Headed to Iceland in July!
VUHU!! I just know you’ll love it!
How long will you be staying and what do you plan on doing here in Iceland? 🇮🇸🇮🇸
One week, and no plans yet…
Was in Akureyri last summer when it hit 22 and was the first time I broke a sweat in Iceland while not hiking, lol.
Heeey!
Ohh nice! Wow, it's been a while since I saw 22 here in Iceland. Uncommon but definitely awesome when it happens haha!
Tarea 12
Great video.
Question: when it happens, do you see the northern lights from anywhere in Iceland, or is there parts of Iceland that provides better view than others?
Thank you so much for your great video. Will we be able to see the northern lights in mid august in Reyjkavik? Thanks.
Heading to Iceland in August!
VUHU! Super exciting 🇮🇸
Such a fun time to visit. Our 'culture night' in Iceland this year will be on August 19th! 👀
Also a possibility to catch the northern lights if you're here during the later part of August ❤️
Will be there in August,,would that be possible to join for a day of excursion?
Tarea 13
Hi. Helpful video. Do u have one for travelers in September?
Your video was insightful! I want to know if I can see puffins in 1st week of September?
Are any of the food tours suitable for pushing someone in a wheelchair? We are arriving in Aug 2024 and I am looking for sonething to do prior to hotel check in.
A very nice and detailed presentation of Iceland and the capital! I'm a big fun of Iceland, I hope to visit soon, and I will definitely join you
Thank you for the kind words George. I really appreciate it.
We hope to see you in Iceland soon! 🇮🇸
@@WakeUpReykjavik. I will be there from 3rd to 9th August! Looking forward to join your lovely group.for.nice activities..into beautiful moments in Iceland
Eek, only 6 weeks & 6 days to go. Cannot wait 😊
VUHU!! 🇮🇸
Glad to hear that you're excited. I have no doubt you'll love it! ❤️
WOW!! ❤ Thank you for your fabulous, expert local knowledge. I have wanted to visit Iceland for as long as I can remember. Now married, my husband and I are planning a trip to your country, even thinking of immigrating to Iceland. We currently live in New Zealand, in the South Island surrounded by mountains, and lakes. Iceland seems to offer everything we love about life, so we are so looking forward to visiting!
Thank YOU for watching and writing such a sweet comment 🥰❤️
Do you have vegan options?
Which restaurants do you recommend for vegans?
Lets gooo 😮🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
LET'S GO! 🥳🥳
Ah! Wish i had known earlier. We would be there in June for the summer solstice but not in Reykyavik on 21st itself. What a pity . Awesome video though. Thank you for all the useful information.
Oh no! We would have loved to have you at our Summer Solstice event. Maybe next year!
I hope you have an awesome time here in Iceland Sylvia! 🇮🇸🥳
Great video! We will be doing your food tour in June. Would love to do the Summer Solstice Yacht Party but it doesn't line up with our itinerary but I'll remember to plan for it next year. You showed the Secret Lagoon and Sky Lagoon. I'm curious which lagoon is at the 14:20 mark, the one where you're enjoying a beer. Thanks.
Heeey!
Dan here 🥳
Awesome to hear that you enjoyed the video. Thanks for the nice words!
We'd love to have you on our Yacht Party next year!
Great question. The lagoon at the 14:20 mark is called Hvammsvík Hot Spring. It opened up just a couple of months ago and is located approx. 40 minutes driving from Reykjavik. Would definitely recommend. Very nice and kosy!
Can you make a tour plan for 8 days plz
I'll be there 5 weeks from today.
Only 3 weeks to go! 🥳
We are planning on a quick trip to Iceland soon and I have been looking forward to it and somewhat dreading it. I am mobility challenged and I have difficulty walking long distances or up and down hills or stairs. Do you have any tour recommendations for someone who wants to see a lot of things but cannot depend on their legs for very long?
I'm visiting at Easter weekend. Not hiring a car what are your top tips? Where is open? Does public transport operate?
i just arrived back from a school trip to iceland, we arrived at 8:00am and on the first day, walked around reykjavík, and did most of the day 4 option 1 activities, including the secret lagoon! we also took a ferry to a southern island on the second day, i think it was called eldfell, and that was beautiful too! i would highly recommend it! 😊obviously my trip was pre planned by school but this is a very clear guide and would have been ideal if i was looking for myself!
School trip to Iceland, wow... nice school...
@@Boba89czv loool most schools in my area go to iceland, and trust me it’s not upper class
that so sweet icleand gives free water, that such Islamic value.
Which waterfall is shown at 0:25 ? Love your content!
I will really appreciate if you can advise me on tours - I’m be there 4-5 days in January
5:55 it looks like that most stores close early. Are there any souvenir shops open late?
Thank you so much for your vlog! My wife and I are planning on coming in mid October. What is the temperature/weather like at that time. What would the chances be in seeing the Northern Lights at that time.
Great and very helpful video! Do Reykjavik and/or Kopavogur have many coffee shops or bakeries that open before the 11:00-11:30 opening hours you mentioned being typical for most shops and restaurants? Thank you!
Heeey Karen!
That's a great question!
For the longest time, I was convinced that absolutely everything was closed until 11:30 (shops / restaurants).
But there are a few spots that open earlier, here centrally in Reykjavik.
Breakfast / Café's that open at 8:00am: Cafe Loki and Hressó (both great)
Good coffee spots that open at 8:00am: Kaffibrennslan (that I mentioned in the video) & Reykjavik Roasters.
So those will all work for coffee / breakfast, while most other restaurants (or shops) won't open until later!
I hope that helps! ❤️
As a student in Akureyri, I am looking for a nice place to rent a cheap room. I don't mind the outskirts of Akureyri
Hi Dan, I’ll be arriving Reykjavik from the USA to embark a cruise ship in mid August. Is there any half day activity I can join before boarding the ship at 4pm? I’m thinking of the blue lagoon if it’s possible 😅, thank you!
Is there a flybus we can take from norwegian terminal cruise to the international airport going to the US? And how early the flybus will cone
Great video, thank you for all the information. We will be there mid June and have booked a South Coast tour, do you know if there are puffins on this tour?
The South Coast visits The Black Sand Beach, sometimes we have puffins hanging out there so you might get lucky! 🐦
Hey how’s the vegetarian food option there
What an amazing video. Thanks so much for the info! Does the summer promo code work for the Summer Solstice party as well? Would love to join!
Heeeey Janey!
Dan here :)
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the video ❤️
The promo code summer works on all tours but not our yacht party event (unfortunately), but I can promise that it will be amazing!
I hope to see you there! 🇮🇸🥳
Hi brother, I am Krish from Dubai, planning to visit Iceland by next month February first week. Is there any problem with tour operations due to recent volcanic eruptions? kindly let me know. Thanks
Hello! What is the average taxi price from KEV to the city?
Is the cruise port for large ships near central Reykjavik? Thank you.
Hello! On your website tours such as Golden Circle Adventure and South Coast Adventure tour have TripAdvisor rating but I don't find these tours and ratings/reviews on the actual TA site. Only for the food tour.
