    Hi Anthony, nice optics from New Camera; beautiful colours within the red oak. Watch out for your back with this load. Cheers, Roy.

      Hey thanks man, I do a little enhancement on the gray days, as well as the leafless trees. I thought my back would be finished a decade ago, but I am slowing down and getting achiier at age 46

    I only like the big boys if they’re straight grain. That lift on the back of your truck sure was handy for those.
    On another subject my brother helped me with a delivery today and says to me “guess what I’ve been binge watching”? I guessed AxMen, and he says “Trailer Park Boys”. His favorite character is Rickey, told him mine was Bubbles and yours is Layhee.

      Oak and sugar maple are the only exceptions to non straight grain exceptions.
      Lol. I cant remember who it was, but someone famous said it stheir fav show in that "not gonna believe it" way. Season 1 to 3 are the best. The best episode ever is the Christmas special (dear Santa Claus. Go **** yourself. Filmed between season 2 and 3, the setting is pre season 1, when barb and Lahey are still married, When Randy comes back to the park since childhood and before J-Rock thinks he's black

      Thank you sir!. I call them wheels of fortune 🤣
      I should've added the soundbites and clips of the TV show to this video, been meaning too when I get big rounds, but I only remembered after making the vid. Maybe next time when I split them

      Hey Phil, at least they're round and can be rolled! Not common but not rare to get big wood like this here in Toronto. The nicer neighborhoods have significantly more oak trees than the others. I have access to too much wood and I've only paid for the fuel for tree cutters to drop off wood less than 5 times in my life!

    Great Big Score! Believe a crane mounted to side of the truck would be a great upgrade 🤘🏻🪵🇺🇸

      @OntarioFirewoodResource  5 місяців тому +1

      Haha someone else said that in the comments. I guess a crane is better than a power tailgate b3cause it's less manual work, but wood bebuseless if the wood is in the backyard!

      The moisture outside made them worse than they should've been seems like. Nice weather for being able to process the wood, but not for drying it (and keeping myself dry!)

    I’m new to watching your channel.
    You work hard!
    Is tree work your source of firewood?
    How much firewood do you process and sell per year?

    • @OntarioFirewoodResource
      @OntarioFirewoodResource  5 місяців тому +1

      Hey thanks for tuning in! Yes I fo work hard and I should've invested differently in the business with the right equipment like an eastonmade splutter and a better skid steer than the one I had. However, I sell a lot of smoker wood which only takes an axe to process into small chunks...specialty wood for double the price. I sell between 30 to 60 cords per year depending on how busy I am doing my other gigs, main scrap metal and junk removal.
      Cheers, Anthony

    That oak looks like it is from a live tree - will need quite awhile to be ready to burn - hate that lousy weather

    • @OntarioFirewoodResource
      @OntarioFirewoodResource  5 місяців тому +1

      Yes, but it did have a crack in the center and the guns were starting the get at itm trees here in the city come down wither because of rot or construction. The oaks are especially hard to get a permit for removal as they are protected

    • @1PaJoe
      @1PaJoe 5 місяців тому +1

      Boy that's one thing about Ontario - It seems there are so many laws and permits for anything you do - it's a wonder you can get anything done at all - @@OntarioFirewoodResource

    • @OntarioFirewoodResource
      @OntarioFirewoodResource  5 місяців тому +1

      @1PaJoe ya it's getting ridiculous. Theyre putting bus and bike lanes in the suburbs, on3 iw a home retail strip and its very business before it being down one lane. Just today i saw a cop pull someone over there for using the bus lane and l outside of the law, i thought how ridiculous it is to ticket someone for basically shoetening their commute by 10 minutes. Plus, traffic is notoriously bad here since the 90s. Crime is up, I witnessed someone smashing a truck window while on my balcony and they did at least one other car in the lot that night. Our country is still safe overall with the exception of a few areas, but it's too expensive, especially the big cities and people are much more gloomy than before.

      I'm waiting for a nice one to come along through my scrap metal business, but they don't get thrown out unless the frame or the wheels are broken, and I don't mind doing repair or wheel replacement if so. Thing is the wood needs a heavy duty dolly too

    • @OntarioFirewoodResource

      @@OntarioFirewoodResource looks like it works great as long as you don’t overload it. I made a winch setup on my dump to pull logs onto my trailer mostly for milling. I wanted something where I didn’t need to bring a tractor if it was a ways away from where I live.

      This was an easy day! The rain and sweat bothered me more. This kind of work seems normal to me now. My age is starting to slow me down, and there are more sore days after a long hard day, but even still, that doesn't require immediate rest or Epsom salt bath

      I've had power tailgates since 2011. My first was on a 2000 6.0 2500 non HD white Silverado regular cab, long box woth the black fender flares. What a beast, it wss heavy on gas and getting into firewood, I knew I needed a bigger truck with a dump box, so I sold it. Then i bought the tailgate before I found the dually and put everything together and now I have a real wood hauler
