    That's a very neat bundler! A box knife, like the stock boys use, with a magnet on it, stuck on that metal frame would make quick work of that wrap at the end of the wrapping process.

    Very nice video Brock! Last year I picked up my Amish bundler where they were made and met the builder. Did a bed and breakfast down the road and the total cost of the trip was within $10.00 of the would be shipping cost! I had the bundler paid off in no time using some area convenient stores. You can save a little bit of money by doing less than five wraps per bundle.

    I have the same bundler and for the price, it's awesome. I don't have power at my wood lot anyway, so manual was the only option. I create specific wood for bundles as it makes bundles faster, is more presentable, and adds value to the product. Best of luck on your venture in bundle wood!

    That’s such a cool gadget!! You mentioned including a label… it might be fiddly until you have a rhythm, but I think it might work to use a plain paper label and slip it in between the layers of stretchy wrap after you get the first full wrap… that way you wouldn’t need anything with glue to attach the label.

    Howdy Brock! Well now... those Amish are pretty clever! Well thought out design in my opinion. Love the pre-loading rack. Very clever. Maybe check with some local gas stations or markets... maybe you could sell them bundles in bulk. Very cool - thanks for sharing 🤠

    A guy I used to work with sold firewood bundles as a side hustle. I don't know if he had a wood processor but I'm guessing he did. He had a lot of accounts with grocery stores, gas stations and 7-11's in our county and the neighboring county. I think it was the 7-11's that required a pretty exact length with little deviation and pretty consistent bundle size. He delivered in an older 1 ton dually chevy with racks on the box about three foot high. You are right - definitely increases your profit on the same amount of wood over selling it at the road for wood stoves (even after fuel). Great video!

    Those are some giant bundles compared to what I normally see. Don’t forget the cost of cutting the wood, splitting it, etc. I know you know this but just pointing it out since you talked about all the cost post bundling. Once you have your partner network that could be some decent money…

    Since you can split wood so small maybe include some smaller kindling in each bundle as a "premium bundle" if there are some campgrounds nearby you might be able to cut a deal with the management

    Good morning Brock. That's a nice bundler. I wasn't going to comment on this because I don't sell any of the firewood that I process but in our area there are a lot of tourism because of the Elk. There is a big visitor's center a few miles from us and there are a couple of campgrounds near here and because of that every half mile or so along the roads, gas stations, and stores there is bundled firewood for sale. It's a pretty big business around here. I don't know if anyone is getting rich on it but it seems to be selling well. I don't really know how much it's selling for around here. I never checked but I will and let you know in a future comment. God bless and have a wonderful day. 👍👍🙂

    Do a video on how long it takes to get the tree down, cut the wood to 16”, split the wood to bundle size pieces, wrap one tote of wood and fill another basket with the bundles. Then all that’s left is get product to customer. I’m curious what you think you need a hour to complete that start to finish and see if there is any money remaining on the table for profit.

    • @RockhillfarmYT

      I did that video last year and the conclusion was that there was no money to be made with my current equipment. I had a homeowner log splitter
      Now I’ve upgraded the splitter and got the bundler and we will test it again.

    I used the pictures and videos of that same bundler to make one myself and it works great, i usually make them on saturday mornings and in 2 hours I have enough for the whole week (30-50 bundles, fills my little stand about 3 times), mine are about the size you make yours, but my pc's are just a little smaller, they sell great and i could probably sell more but it was intended to just be extra cash sense i have wood i split for me anyway.

    • @RockhillfarmYT
      @RockhillfarmYT  11 місяців тому +1

      Where do you sell them? Your own driveway stand?

    • @jeanpomerleau8416
      @jeanpomerleau8416 11 місяців тому

      yes, built the stand really just to give my son some extra money, but he does not care that much so I do the work, and keep the cash. I have it on my front lawn and have a fair amount of traffic here in Lewiston, so I offer mine a little different then some others around here, (mix hardwood or mixed softwood both with kindling and a fire starter square in the bundle, also have bundles of kindling in the stand,) and that is getting around. Every bundle is $5 your choice and I adjust bundles size by type of wood. Have fun with it, it's just firewood right? :)

  • @tpctrash

    Personally I like bundles of firewood that don’t have oak in them. Especially exclusive. A piece here and there is ok. But I usually use it for camping and I like a larger flame where oak dies not burn that way unless it is split very small. But everyone has their own preference. Saving the oak for larger pieces and for boiler wood which you can ask a higher price.

    Looks like the metal tray would give you options for different size bundles, a smaller one for the six you see at the local store and the bigger one for 10. Could you ship the bundles to your viewers? Cut out middle man?

    • @Dan-oz4qb
      @Dan-oz4qb 11 місяців тому

      Firewood should only be sold locally due to the risk of spreading disease and insects outside of the area of origin. I believe it's actually against the law in some areas to bring in non-local wood. That's why many campgrounds require you to purchase wood from them to burn on the property. It's not just to generate revenue.

    Why do people use bundled wood when you can get the tote cheaper.

    • @RockhillfarmYT
      @RockhillfarmYT  11 місяців тому

      Because they don’t heat their house with wood.
      you have young people who just want to drink some beers around a campfire and don’t even have a way to haul wood, or people who are going camping, or they just occasionally do a little bit of grilling with a smoker
      Nobody is buying it for their woodstove
