  • This video details my progress in week number 14 of my Carnivore journey. It also details the before and after results of my fasting labs contrasting before Carnivore to after 90 days on Carnivore. Lastly, I do a quick grocery haul review of what I purchased this week for my Carnivore meals.
Today is day 98 on the Carnivore Diet; It's Saint Patrick's Day. That's 99 days without sweeteners, bread, pasta, rice, beans, legumes, packaged food products of any kind, and no soda (only water and green tea).
As a type 2 diabetic, my goal is to use the Carnivore diet/lifestyle to reverse my Type 2 diabetes. This means my primary goal is not weight loss (although I'd like to get down to 155 lbs if I had my druthers) but lowering and stabilizing my blood sugar with an A1C target of 5.5 (average fasting glucose of less than or equal 110), "normal" triglycerides and cholesterol, and to increase my HDL cholesterol so that I can live a drug-free lifestyle as I move forward toward retirement where my diet helps my body stave off the ailments that often come with old age.
I have added some approximate time codes below if you want to skip any sections.

My favorite is ribeye steak, so delicious!! I think the only thing I might want outside of carnivore are pickles but I have not tried to add any, don't want anything sweet. I'm on week 14 so this video is encouraging!!! GREAT JOB!! New subscriber too!🎉

@vs0063 I have had a few Claussen Kosher Dill Spears without any impact and the saltiness actually reduces cravings (at least for me). Glad you are enjoying your Carnivore journey. Best of luck. Thanks for following me.

Chicken was causing my facial and scalp dry skin problems, I would have chicken wings once a week but when I cut that out my skin cleared up. Just thought I'd mention it and you could keep an eye on your skin to see if it gets worse the day after your chicken. Sounds like you're heading from carnivore to ketogenic, I've been carnivore for over a year and I never get bored but as long as you're eating low carb with no seed oils you'll get better and better. Good luck, keep it up!

Gary: Thanks for the comment / suggestion. Chicken is one of my least favorite dishes so I will definitely keep an eye on my skin condition after I eat the wings. I may also cut out all chicken to see if I get an improvement. I wouldn't exactly say I am heading toward ketogenic. I don't plan on adding back a variety of vegetables or fruit or any "keto approved" packaged products. I just want to see if I can handle grilled onions or mushrooms or blackened/charred red pepper strips which pair really nicely with beef in my opinion (I would limit this consumption to probably less than 1/2 of a cup per day). With regard to Asparagus, I also like that steamed or grilled and for me it acts as a diuretic which is good for keeping blood pressure down. If I can incorporate small amounts of these into my carnivore program without derailing me, then it will make my Carnivore journey more sustainable for me over the long haul.
Again, thanks for the comment and for stopping by. Much Appreciated.

I have a skin rash across my belly, but the rash is not bumpy. Just dark in color. I have been reading up on the keto rash so I will see if it gets worse. I have Rosacea on my face but it looks like I have blush makeup on. That does not seem to be affected yet.

@patriciagodin8032 Thanks for sharing. I got my "keto rash" between the 2nd and 3rd week on Carnivore when I went into deep Ketosis. For me, my main complaint is the incessant itch that is associated with it. It's blotchy, scaly red and red-brown patches, not sores, that span sections across my stomach, sides and across portions of my back. Also I have been getting Rosacea flares that come and go. I have not seen my dermatologist about either condition recently. I plan to do that shortly. With regard to Rosacea, I have tried many, many topical solutions, both prescription and over the counter. For me, the only topical that does anything for me is Soolantra and it takes a couple of months of daily use to see significant improvement. For short-term flare-ups my dermatologist had prescribed Doxycycline 100 mg to be taken 2x per day (one dose morning; one dose night time) for no longer than 10-days at a time. I had also tried a maintenance dose of 40 mg once a day but that was useless for me so I switched over to the Soolantra. Over the last 90 days I have used Doxy for 2, 7-10 day periods to help both the Rosacea flare-up and to minimize the itch associated with the rash.
Best of luck on combatting your skin conditions and thanks for stopping by and sharing your situation.

I have a cream for my face but mine is not as bad as yours. As for my belly it does itch but I am not touching it so hopefully it does not get worse. None on my back yet. Fingers crossed. I got it a few weeks ago, 12 week doing keto. Well good luck combating it

How tall are you??? What is your target weight??

@rootbeerbuzz9696 I am 5' 6" and my target weight is 155 lbs.; This would be a BMI of 25.0 so just into the overweight category down from the Obese category; At my age, any lower than that and I think I will look gaunt.
