    I was today years old (26) when I learnt that I could cook beet leaves. I’ve wasted a lot of food in my life it seems. Thank you for this great recipe

      I'm now 23 years old۔ I have grown beetroot at my home۔ yesterday I ate beetroot and and I placed leaves in refrigerator۔ so that I could cook these 😀۔ i never waste any food 😂۔ I always try my best I don't waste anything

      Even the cut off ends and peels can be used in a veggie broth.

      Just be aware of the high concentration of oxalates, specially if you are prone to the formation of kidney stones. Don't consume it in large quantities.

    I always saute the greens with garlic, shallots and olive oil, but always discarded the stems! I'm glad I found your video, and thank you!

    I did your mix the same as you did. They were better than a 5 star restaurant. My mother was a good cook also, her thumbs were like yours. Must be something about that. Thank you!

    I made these and they were DELICIOUS. I have loved beets since I was a child. I have never had beet leafs before though. I love it more than spinach and collard greens!

    I made this with some grape tomatoes and tomato paste that needed to be used up and an unholy amount of garlic and OMG! That was like 6 months ago and i cant stop thinking about it still 🤤 I havent been able to find some good beets and beet greens yet this year!

    I made this on the stove over medium heat and just let the stems cook longer. Did it all with no cover. DELICIOUS

    Wow, this video is amazing. I am so in love with your oven! It's my goal to afford a home with an oven like that. My grandparents use to have one similar made of clay, and the bread made in it was out of this world.

    I grew beets in my garden for the first time (not normally much of a beet person). but gave this a try w/ the greens. WOW. the toasted bread MAKES it. Excellent dish!

    Extra time for stems. Chop those greens. Slice some garlic and add some cayenne pepper. When the stems get some time, add lemon zest and salt and put the greens in long enough to wilt. Add the juice from the lemon. Toast bread and rub with garlic, then put the greens on top.

    Good recipe! Liked and subbed. I threw a bunch of beet seeds in my garden late Fall early Winter. They began to grow and stayed green throughout several snows we had. I picked many today, April 9th. I'm roasting the beets with other veggies and using your recipe for the greens. Thanks!

    I bought fresh organic beets to make kvass, and was looking for a greens and stems recipe. Although I watched a few others, yours was the best, as I'm Italian and this reminded me of nonna's cooking. Out of all her delicious dishes, my favorites were simple breaded and fried artichoke hearts and cardoons. New Subscriber!

    Beautiful. My gramps was a cook in the army and when we went to visit grampa and Grandmother he would do up delicious food. Best greens with garlic and beet greens like this. Beautiful stuff. This is delicious and beautiful oven here. Thanks for share. I can't find best greens are hard to find beets with the greens attached I will have to go to other stores to find some.

    How long should I keep the beet stems in the oven? This looks absolutely amazing! I'm growing beets for the first time to do pickled beets and didn't want the greens to go to waste. I can't wait to try this recipe!

    Another good use for beet green stems is freezing them for smoothies. I cut the stems in small pieces, too.

    Your oven is AMUSING ! We have a lot here in Europe mainly in eastern Europe and the quality of the food and taste in that is just NOTICIBLY better than in a electric or gas oven next to it is looks good too.

    Thank you for the video I usually throw away the greens but today I mad it on the top of the stove I added onions first then garlic and chili pepper and then cooked the rest on the stove I added the lemon juice at the end. It was good but a taste you have to get used to.

    Plus this lady said right out the gate her mother... no house wife nor man at the house cuts like that unless you went through training. Its a chef making this dish which is really cool.

    I sautéed the stems with ginger, then added water to wilt the added beet tops. Salt, Pepper,lemon.
    Delicious! Bonus:a cup of hot tangy sautée-water.

    I would like to try this removing the oil and salt , using the same herbs and lemon , maybe a spritz of coconut liquid aminos, water sautéing then add blended “cream” from pulverized nuts. I think it would taste delicious along with homemade toasted sour dough bread. 🤤 yummmm. Thanks for the inspiration.

    First time with beets here. How long do you bake the stems before adding the greens? How long do you bake afterward? What should the consistency be like? Do you cook to mush or crisp?

    Your method and recipe looks great. Thankyou. How long do you recommend cooking the stems, and then the stems and leaves together please?

      Thanks so much!!! The cooking time for the stems can vary based on size. The stems should be tender and slightly crisp (4-7 minutes) before adding the leaves. Once the leaves are added it will only take about two minutes. Just as simple as that.
